@deancarter4109 ahh when you said pinner I thought you meant the small 23g pinner, didn't think about that one! I just think it's a toolstation one, but I have a Stanley one too (maybe in thr description) that's still going strong 12 years later 🤣
Hey buddy hope you are well. Bloody hate doing floating shelves. Just a few things which batten did you use looks really sturdy. If you were going into solid walls what would you recommend? Last thing what nail Pinner is that you’re using. Keep up the incredible work
I fit 21mm battens with a series of modesty blocks facing down on the inside lower edge. Then I fit 18mm mdf on the underside of the battens, scribed to the wall then glued and held in place with 25mm screws through the modesty blocks. The top of the shelf is 6mm mdf glued down onto the battens. I pre-fit a batten to the front edge of the 18mm mdf with biscuit slots and then fit an 18mm front trim glued and biscuited. I make the front trim 48mm so there’s a slight lip underneath the shelf. Always works, each shelf takes about 30-45 minutes to complete. I pre-spray everything in my workshop so all that’s needed is a thin line of CT1 once I’ve scribed them in. I never slide floating shelves in as alcoves are always out of square.

What is a modesty block? Interested as I’ve not heard of them before
