Great video Lance, nice to see fun trails from your POV that are actually rideable by a Muppet like me. I'm 69 and was a sworn steam biker until I started watching your videos. I was planning to go the e-bike route when I could no longer keep up with my wife on her e-bike, but now I'm thinking maybe a bit sooner :)
Trust me don't wait. E bikes are just so much fun. If you are fitter than your wife then just run it in a lower power setting to even things up. E bikes are not just for the frail and disabled. Pro EWS and world cup downhill guys use them to train so I think that makes it ok for us to.
I really appreciate your channel and your promotion of ebikes. It has inspired me to dust off an old diy ebike and go enjoy the novice trails and to start building ebikes again. Thank you for your content!
Hey thanks very much for the great video and showing us some great trails, I am just about 60 and I am really looking forward to attacking these trials so thanks once again and great job.
I’ve just turned 50 and bought my first Ebike and I’m absolutely blown away with it, I’m riding more I’m covering more places more miles, I’m back in love with mountain biking again, great video buddy
You’re way to hard on yourself 🤦🏻♀️ I’m about to purchase a Trek Rail 7 e bike so I can keep up with my husband. So glad I found your page and I’m a big fan now ☺️👍🏻 Great humour 👍🏻
Been eyeing up both these trails to do with the mrs. Now I know what to expect and feel a bit more confident to take her around. Thanks for the videos Lance
I rode this today onnan e bike, and found that hill a bit of a slog. Headslands loop was awesome. Flagged the bay and came back to kinloch. Great trail
Oh i went to the second entrance and was a cool downhill to the lookout then a longish uphill to the 5 km mark. Really felt it there but was a superfun 4 km downhill to the 1st lookout, awesome dh
Heading down there tomorrow after level 3 ends. Never tried the headlands loop as I can never be bothered due to not having a ebike 😂 but might have to give it a crack this time looks like a bit of fun
Fantastic video. Great trails. We have a new trail being built in Westport. Westport to Charleston. 56km long. Some of it is open but should be finished by next summer. Hope to have an endurance race on it next year. Would be great to see the Dads army team do it and you can do the Old Ghost Road. Just at our back door
Great video Lance, awesome to see these trails first hand with the POV filming and good graphics showing where you were going. Better than the actual cycle trail guide! You should do the Timber Trail next, stay at Camp Epic and you can plug in your ebike to charge overnight.
Not so much for this ride but I have purchased a Garmin inReach mini for remote rides. It uses Satellite if needed to call for help. I will also carry basic first aid on some rides plus tools.
Nice one,Lance, you athlete,you!....Great to see you at the Orakau car park that day....And may I say you look a lot younger in person :))....Was a hot day and glad you had enough energy for the Headland Loop (Redbull assisted?)...Cheers

Well presented. Thankyou. Regards Chris
Thanks Chris. Always appreciated.

Thanks Tim. Get out there and have some fun.
Me and the wife road that track about 18 years ago .
we started from the other side and what a ride .
I did the same thing with my wife years ago getting the water taxis. Get ride.
your videos have quickly become a daily necessity for me
That's great but not sure I can make one a day. Thanks for the support.
great video again no less than I expect from you though. Yep MOST important one must maintain ones physique
No chance of me losing my great shape.😁

Years a go I did a different route with my wife. Got shuttled to far end then rode back with water taxis in the middle. Was another really great ride.

Thanks James. You sound just like me. I love where the bike can take me.

Thanks Michelle. Glad to have you on the team.

Have a good ride.
Great stuff Lance , that was a great day out , sometimes we forget that not every ride has to be flat out gnarly near death stuff ! 🤘
I love exploring new places. I enjoy that as much as scaring myself doing silly jumps.
Bit harsh on yourself there young man 😂🤣 great vid 👌🏽
Thanks Rail 7 rider. You missed a fun ride today. Brooke broke his e bike cherry.

Sounds like a good day out. Looks like us Jaffas may be let out tomorrow.
@@bestdayevermtb2 think taking the second entry is better ie reverse to u. Start with great dh, undulating, uphill, then an awesome flowy dh
@@farhorizonz good to know.
Enjoy
Ebikes are hear to stay now more younger people and pros are riding them as well just another bike that has different benefits 💯🇺🇸
I agree. The numbers are rapidly growing and the bikes are getting better.

I have done it on a normal bike before. The climb is not too bad.
Definitely worth it

I am really keen to get down there. So many great rides.
Great video lance!

I have been thinking about trying it on the e bike. Have done it twice before in the rain. Must be due a dry one.
That loop is best done in the other direction bro. IMHO
Thanks. Good to know for next time.
Do you have to take safety gear on bike trips like this?

Perhaps with this video you could join Vanzacs!😁
Someone must be trying for that athlete bod no ice cream 🍦 review at end of vid
Two ice creams in one day is a bit much.

Was nice meeting you also. Was a really great day.
No hating from me. A great effort from one oldie to another? Haha, would love to do those tracks.
Thanks for the support.
You can never talk to much about e bikes!! Electric all the way!
Cool video would you recommend doing this loop?
Definitely would. Nice easy option. Could start from either side.
