Joey Merlino, famously known as Philadelphia's mob boss, recently discussed his infamy and crimes. He revealed that rumors spread in 1989 of a $500,000 bounty on his head, dismissing it as a common occurrence and one he didn't pay any mind. He discussed surviving attempts on his life and brushed off the threats, citing he was frequently told of new bounties but paid them no attention. In 1987, Merlino was accused of orchestrating an armored truck robbery where $352,000 was stolen. However, in a twist of events, Merlino claims innocence, stating that two others were responsible for the crime. The two accused Merlino of being the mastermind behind it all, resulting in their probation while Merlino served a four-year sentence. In court, he ironically suggested that he could borrow the $500,000 since he's still alive. Despite the serious charges and time served, Merlino maintained his nonchalant stance throughout the interview and seemed unbothered by his past.

I was a waiter in a popular deli in Philly, and he used to be one of my regular customers along with the mayor, police commissioner and other politicians. And merlino was my favourite out of all of them. He was always polite not demanding and tipped like a champ. I also waited on some of his shall we say employees, and they treated me well too. In fact they stuck up for me and tipped me big one time when my boss tried to embarrass me in front of them.
