Always Fire!!. Hey on the mpc 2000xl is there anyway of slicing the drums out of the sample while still keeping the same for example in slicex you can highlght the snare and push delete. it sounds pretty simple the only way i see on trimming is a loop.
+Erin O yes you have to highlight the section you want to silence you go to your sample and hit edit and go through th eoptions until you find the slience option...

Do you usually use one shot or release? I have been focusing on producing beats using machine ever since i seen these videos, I'm getting there but your samples seem to link so well is that cause of the release?
+C. notes the mpc can only cut off two pads at max so thats a reason why i use the release... i also like using the release button because sometimes it gives a mili second or two to let the sample breathe and time ill also use the reverb to give the sample an echo... linking samples together comes with years of practice and perfecting your craft and developing your ear...
Appreciate the tips man! definitely takes years of practice, i like the feel you get from the sample chops you put together and like you said how the reverb and release can help with the melody breathing. Top videos man keep doing you!
