My uncle was in a motorcycle accident in the ‘80s and he suffered many a blended roast dinner
When I was younger, I got really ill with encephalitis. My muscles and brain weren't "wired" together anymore and I had to learn how to get them to work together again. I couldn't eat solids because I couldn't chew (again, muscles weren't cooperating), so everything went into a blender. Salad, mac and cheese, spaghetti, chunky soups, EVERYTHING! And this was way before the store bought protein shakes. It sounds so bad, but at the time, it tasted SO GOOD!!! Eventually I got my muscle control back.

I had upper jaw surgery in 2011. I also had the “birdy feeder” device! I was an experience non the less but I had the absolute best oral surgeon riding it out with me!
My lower jaw was broken in a car accident in 1980. My jaw was wired shut for 6 weeks, so I learned a lot about all the different kinds of baby foods. The day I was scheduled to get the wires off I had plans to get some pizza, hamburgers and a nice big steak. Imagine my dismay when I found out that the jaw muscles became atrophied and I could barely open my mouth 1/8 of an inch. It was about 2weeks before I could eat normally. 😢
My husband had to have jaw surgery to remove a shard of shrapnel from his jaw. The doctors broke his jaw to get the shard out, and he was wired shut for two months. Nothing but soup and smoothies. And of course he always sounded furious because his teeth were forced together. Poor guy, I’m glad that’s over with.
😂 when I had my surgery, I said screw this and started using ASL 😂 I've known how to sign since I was a year old, everyone in my moms family knows how to sign just about cause my uncle is deaf...my mom couldn't keep up with my signing and had to tell me to slow down or just write down what I wanted to say 😂

I actually had to have my jaw wired shut but that's because I broke it not due to my braces. But I flipped over the handlebars of my bike and landed chin first onto the pavement. It snapped on the right side and so they had to wire it shut for A little over one month. I remember blending everything I could just to participate in everyday stuff. Someone's birthday hey birthday shake it is. I threw that cake and some milk into a blender ate it. Barbecue? You got it. I threw in steak and some barbecue sauce and blend it up with a little water. The worst thing was cleaning everything because you have to use a combination of water and hydrogen peroxide because of course you can only brush the outside and to keep everything healthy. You got to do that after your meal which sucked but my teeth were healthy! And I do remember them cutting the connector wires about a week before I got the whole contraption off and hooking it up with rubber bands for a little bit and then those came off and then all the metal came out.

Until the time when we discover a jaw surgery method or regenerative pill where I need to stay on liquid diet for 2 weeks instead of 6 to 8, I'm not having a corrective jaw surgery
