Hey Joe, I couldn't help but notice that your workbench is made from wood. I also built my own workbench from wood, but after it was finished I went to the local steel shop and had a sheet of 1/32 steel plate cut to the proper dimensions and I drilled out the proper amount of holes and screwed it to the surface of the bench. This way, if you need to hammer anything, you won't damage your bench at all. It wasn't expensive, and it gave my bench infinite life.
Great tip , I've been utilising similar benches for many a year sampling coke and coal in Australia but until now I never really gave them a second thought .. Cleanliness is _etc , cheers from Christiano the Sampler 👍👍👍 ...

Rich people just want the thing out of their garage so will sell penny’s on the dollar, and will definitely negotiate down a lot.) I get so sick of this and you are so spot on. It’s kinda hilarious. His videos are good, he’s a gentleman, he is a good mechanic and I love watching.
IMHO, 4, and always would have should have could have
Wait, didn't he light a dirt bike on fire and dragged it out into the driveway.
2nd gear in the first couple of years of Raptors was notorious for going out. There is an upgraded gear
You can also tell it’s a 2001 by the rear shock. 2001 was a 1 year only with the remote Reservoir. People use those on the 300ex for a upgrade, as the raptor shock is rebuildable
That’s hilarious, nicely done Joseph sir
Man, how lucky can you get!!!!! But after the bad luck on earlier ones, you were due some good luck. Enjoy your Sherlocking the Engines God Bless
I blew 2nd gear out on my 01 raptor too. I went over a jump and it broke/locked-up when I landed. That was a known issue with the 01 raptors only I believe. I replaced my gears with a set from an 03, and they worked great.
01-02 2nd gears are trash. I've replaced many with 03-04 in the past years. Total tear down. Good luck Joe!
You are a wealth of knowledge
chewing second gear up and kept riding it around...full tear down now...got some glitter running thru that thing..a cam and some goodies on the rebuild.
I really like the slide when you were taking your first ride
Have fun working on that monster, pretty tight fit t work on stuff. My 2002 has the 686 kit on it, and I do have another 686 jug and piston. Fyi
Your wife has got to love you for tearing up the grass 😂
Yiu get so lucky sometimes... I need your kind of luck haha awsome work my guy keep teaching us your little tricks to the trade
Hey Joe I'm sure you are aware of the 01 660 trans issues. Best to upgrade with a 02+ trans.
With all the other bikes that you had that you had to rebuild, and replace many parts, replacing the just one second gear wheel will be easy for you to do.
I used to assemble these out of crate at the Yamaha dealer in early 2000's
Danger exhaustion fumes drill a 4 inch hole.Put flexible duck work and booster for inch fan hook up to exhaust
Hey Joe, fill it up with coolant!! Well, he said to remind him, didn't he?
Makes me smile every time he uses the same coolant container filled with plain water pretending it's proper coolant.
Hi Joe, where do you sell your fixed vehicles?
I wouldn't mind buying a used bike from you given the amazing way you fix them
lol
Only reason you would get blow by like that is over filled , but your a master mechanic try again. You are a parts changer at best
@@bigman-adv fixed,lol
Sweet another 660 👍. Them 01's are known for transmission problems
Joe, with the amount of small engine work you do, I recommend some ratchet wrenches. Great channel! Cheers!
Good job joe 👍
Raptor 660 5 Valve don't miss the hidden screw on the Intake Valve Cover!
If not timing maybe the reverse safety switch.
you will fly through the split engine and build Joe, yeah I know, not another one !
