I took three years of Greek in college five decades ago. I can still stumble through "easy" passages in Mark or John but, of course, struggle with anything in Hebrews and most of Paul. (BTW: My personal put is that Hebrews was written by Apollos.) My personal GNT is Nestle-Alan 25th edition, published in 1968. I like this due to its apparatus on bottom of the page AND the essential Greek/English dictionary at the back which considerably helps my failing vocabulary reach. My original was bound in vinyl but two years ago I had it re-bound in leather. Worth the investment IMHO. Thanks for helping me get a grip on the new THGNT which apparently is causing quite a stir. Soli Deo Gloria.

This is one of the highest quality GNT on the market. I wish they would have made this with wide margins and compared, in their apparatus the majority text.

Thank you for the book review. I bought a copy based on your review, and it is a nice Greek New Testament I carry in my backpack and read while resting on mountain hikes. If your other viewers are not fluent in Greek, I suggest they view your "Readers" edition that has many vocabulary and grammar helps noted on each page!

Very nice. Thank you for the time and attention to detail that you put into your reviews. You’re so thorough. It doesn’t go unnoticed... I really want to learn the Greek so I can read one of these Greek NTs.

Thanks! A little over 20 years ago, I decided to try to learn New Testament Greek. At that time, you could buy a computer program called Greek Tutor, and it was very helpful with the basics. I also acquired a copy of Mounce's "Basics of Biblical Greek," his box of vocabulary flash cards, a Greek New Testament, and an analytical lexicon; and I got to work. But I let it drop over the years, so now I'm knocking off the rust.

      R. Grant Jones I’m going to have to learn the alphabet and get a few resources and see if I can learn it. There’s just not enough hours in the day sometimes but it would be worth the time and effort to learn it cause I love to read the Bible and it would be amazing to read it in the original language.

I really enjoy the videos you produce. Could you answer me a question? I'm starting to learn Greek, and am a little confused in which NT Greek bible to purchase. The Tyndale readers or this one, are they similar? Thanks

I believe this Greek NT is based on Tregelles Greek NT. If so, do you know why modern English translations don’t seem to use Tregelles’ text? I believe Moffatt used it. Thanks

You're right -- the starting point for the THGNT was Tregelles's Greek New Testament. I don't know why modern translations don't use his text, but it may be that they'd prefer to work from an edition that takes note of papyri discovered since the 19th century. Whatever the reason, I think translators often exercise their own discretion in determining which reading to follow. (I didn't know that about Moffatt. Interesting.) Thanks for the comment!

      R. Grant Jones Thank you. The Moffatt translation can be somewhat eccentric. From a different video of yours it seems that of the existing English translations the ASV and RV agree most with Tregelles ‘ NT inasmuch as they agree with the THGNT. Is that so?

@@FernandoSerna1654 - I'm not sure. Although the THGNT used Tregelles as the base text, the editors made many changes.

Every Greek New Testament printed since 1980 or so has a horrible typeface.

Maybe you just think so because you learned greek with a (from a modern learner's perspective) horrible typeface. It's all subjective
