Was relieved that your big reservation was over text type. That's the least of my concerns so I'm good. I have the hard cover "Reader's Edition" and as much as I love it, and Crossway, and Tyndale House, there's something about that maroon UBS5 that has me slightly brainwashed as my "go to" GNT. I'm trying to use both equally but it's tough. The thing I absolutely love about having both of them is that they each have totally different dictionaries and lemma indexes. So it's great to have options. But as a visual guy, it's amazing how biased I am toward the fonts of the UBS5 and Crossway, so much so that when I find an old GNT with italic fonts (like Zondervan's Reader, or an early NA) its very distracting. The Tyndale font is my favorite font, even better than the more familiar UBS. Love the clean page and margins, if I want an apparatus I will look at NA. Thanks

Love this! I actually ordered this from the UK and use it daily. It is a beautifully done Bible! My main Bible for the next few years for sure. I think for those concerned about the Byzantine and Alexandrian Text type, they would know enough textual criticism to know where the important variants in the texts would be. So I try not to concern myself with that very much. Having just read through the gospel of John, it was interesting to read it without the Pericope Adulterae 😊. Finding a Bible is truly a deeply personal process and I totally understand. Love the video Stephen!! Curious to know which one you eventually land on!

That’s awesome! I have narrowed my favorites down to 4. But so far I have been switching between them haha!

I use the diglot version of this in a hardcover. I love it, it’s a great tool and resource, and I read it frequently. I also have a Westcott Hort but don’t use it very often anymore.

Nice! How do you like the diglot one?

@@BiblicalStudiesandReviews It’s lovely! I really like how they’ve put it together. I’m no Greek expert so when I am reading the Greek it’s nice to have something there to assist me without having to get another volume out. And if I’m reading the ESV, it’s great to have the Greek there for more in depth looks at what the text is actually stating. I plan on getting a diglot for the Masoretic text soon because of how much I’ve loved this one.

Looks like a beautiful edition! The only thing keeping me from purchasing this, is that it's essentially a local Egyptian text :( Too bad the Byzantine Textform couldn't get this kind of treatment.

Small quibble. They weren't actually trying to get back to the original. They essentially created a 3rd-5th century majority text. They were trying to recreate what the average Christian would have heard preached _given the extant evidence_.
    Great review. Love your channel.

Thank you brother. There stated goal is: “The Tyndale House edition is intended to provide a text of the Greek New Testament that reflects as closely as possible its earliest recoverable wording.” So as you point out, that’s not exactly the same thing as trying to get back to the original.

@@BiblicalStudiesandReviews Yeah, so that keeps them from ever using emendations which is nice. Their model keeps them from ever trying to "get behind" the text. Regardless of AI, it's all speculation.
I've come down on a different side of the Byz text type, but I respect that position. I haven't seen all of your videos on that topic, but the work Dr. Snap does is very good.

@@ZackSkrip I want Byzantine priority to be true. I’m not sure it is. But it would simplify things, and I don’t think it is generally given a fair hearing. Thanks for watching!

@@BiblicalStudiesandReviews It seems a little nicer than your edition because it's not as stiff. It's a little taller too. I love the layout. Biggest con is the Alexandrian text. I wish we had TR and MT Greek NTs in leather editions to choose from. TBS were stupid for discontinuing the calfskin leather GNT.

I'm rather disappointed with the cheaper options for leather for us Bible lovers. Duotone and bonded leather are junk. French Morocco is alot like bonded leather on how it breaks down. Genuine leather and Calfskin are the cheapest options yet still pricey. Goatskin is the best with top grain cowhide/calfskin is a close second, but expensive. Wish they would come up with a cheaper yet sturdy binding for the budget minded other than hardcover smythsewn. Wish zondervan and thomas nelson would come out with a cheap calfskin/top grain Greek NT.
