Personally I’m a fan of the new mk8. Played around with the interior on a test drive and I guess it’s not as bad as everyone made it out to be. Still prefer the dated mk7.5 to it but performance wise I think the mk8 has some good qualities to it and the prices are not too bad for a CPO one now.
The interior definitely could have used some QOL updates to make the haptic controls a bit better, but now that they rolled back to physical buttons I doubt any changes will be made

I have a mk7.5 eqt stage 1 and notice a flutter (although much quieter) when I let off the gas, (cruising 60mph without pressing gas pedal for example) it sounds kinda normal but the fact I haven't noticed it before kinda worries me. I'm pretty sure it'd always made that noise, but was hoping someone could reassure/ or give advice on how to approach this.

You don’t need any mods to go stage one I suggest waiting for blaze performance to drop an intake for the mk8 gti the one they offer for the mk8 r will not fit but other then that you should be able to run full E85 completely stock

So as of now bro I still get the free oil changes so I’m sure it’s the oil Volkswagen uses if not it’s liquimoly but I change the oil every 3500-5000 miles depending on how much I beat on the car
@@Daddy_Mk8 No you haven't. And if you have, they were 100% bone stock or bad drivers. You aren't touching a modified 10 speed. You would need a larger turbo, and then they can just go F/I and you have 0 hope because they will be around the 900/1.000hp range.
@@BryceCzirr-jz7ju obviously not touching them but it’s all about the experience and I would 100% take a 500-600 hp gti then a 1000 hp mustang I’ve owned a 5.0 I know what they can do yes their fun but at the end of the day my car isn’t just gonna be a quick car i got it to have fun in the canyons and do a lot of spirited driving
Ordered an ots map on EQT and they emailed me the tune and we went through the proccess of getting my ecu id and all that fun stuff 1 day turnaround time but just put the map on the accesport and flashed to my car
The MK8 is not bad but I much prefer my MK7. I have experienced the MK8’s interior on more than one occasion and it’s a complete step backwards from the MK7/ MK7.5. The over use of gloss black plastic (fingerprints) and lack of buttons is just less intuitive. For me the MK8 is not enough of an upgrade for me to trade my MK7.
@@Jmarzx if you don't need AWD I'd go for it. I wanted to trade in my mk8 for a mk8R but couldn't find without Mark up. Decided for a supra and couldn't get a dealer to respond as I guess they wanted me to just show up briefcase of money full lmao. I got an s5 and traded that for my m240. I could've saved so much money just buying an R first and never having to get the Audi or bmw

Well the Europe mk8 with dsg are way faster . I have a stage 1 with 350hp and that thing easy gaps an stock s3 so this is maybe because its a manual but its kinda underperforming

That wasn’t my car it was the construction workers but yes it’s normal it’s just the waste gate actuator for the mk7.5

I bought the accesport from Cobb and I bought the tune from EQT access port was like 800 I believe the tune was 225

Mk7 and up gti will full bolt ons and e85 is the most sleeper car you can get at the same time also comfortable and practical.

Clutch is definitely better in the mk8. There are couple Pmax cars with the stock clutch still hanging in there. 😂

MK8 GTI's come with 7R clutches so it's a little better than the 7 GTI.
