    I have had my 88 S-10 V8 blazer for 24 years. It was converted to a handicapped assist v8 Blazer 5 years before I got it with no engine or trans. The first thing I did, FIRST, was to buy the JTR book he mentioned.
    He is 1000% correct, you need this book badly if you are new to V8 s-10. Because he mentioned the book from the start, I will subscribe, because we are on the same page. I am always looking for tips to improve mine.
    People have asked me to consider assisting on their S-10 swaps. I say but the book, read it cover to cover and we can talk, if the decline, so do I respectfully. FYI. Now lets see what the Knowles family is up to!

      Good to see you on here brother. I have been using a few new editing tricks trying to make it enjoyable to watch. I love the s10 trucks I own 5 of them lol. Hope your mom was OK. They are prety solid I wrecked a couple of them as a kid and came away lucky since they are solid. I need to get this one done then we can do your ls swap when your ready. Thank you for watching brother have a awesome day.

    I'm lazy and went with a Complete Painless wire harness, nice to see another one of us doing a 1st gen, I had to lose the heater/ac, power brakes and power steering due to the fenderwell headers. With 500 hp. i'm sure you wont be going anywhere without Caltracs at least quickly lol. I'm running a 17* 399 stroker set up for 89 octane pump.

      Awesome man. I have done a few of these builds they are a blast. I like each one more because I learn something from the previous one. I am installing cal trac bars and a spool when its done. They don't hook up to good in stock form with any v8 lol. My buddy wanted all the ac and stuff still or it would be gone. It is prety hot in Vegas though so I guess it's a good idea. Thankyou for watching. Next one I build is getting my bravada front diff and bravada all wheel drive t case with a ls based engine. Should be fun.

    I am working on a 1995 S-10 with a factory 5 seed manual trans wondering if the 5 speed will hold up and not break.

    • @KnowlesFamilyGarage
      @KnowlesFamilyGarage  10 місяців тому +1

      I recommend a 5 speed from a V8 like a nv 3500 or something similar. I ran a 5 speed from a 2.8 once behind a stock 350 and it lasted a few days before it died a quick death. If it comes from a 4.3 it may last a while. Good luck on your build.

      Nope 1st loss of traction will some times shatter the main shaft.temp use only .

      Exactly why I don't recommend using the 5 speeds from the v6 engines. I blew one up and it almost sent pieces through my trans tunnel.

    Doing some researching and i thought i could ask, i have a 5 speed 4.3 1995 s10 and i wanna put a 350 in it, what am i looking at needing?

    • @KnowlesFamilyGarage
      @KnowlesFamilyGarage  9 місяців тому

      It depends on what route you go. I would use the 5 speed where it was the 4.3 already it will have a bell housing that will work with your 350. You will need motor mounts they are fairly cheap online. most of the sets utilize 2.8 litre bottom motor mounts. You will want some headers. I bought some headers online for under $200. I used to use eBay for all my mounts and headers but I think summit racing has them as well. One more thing I have had mixed results with stock 4.3 radiator or aftermarket. I had one truck that had a stock radiator with the 350 I built another one after that and ended up going with a Corvette radiator because the stock 4.3 radiator wouldn't cool the 400 SBC.
      Good luck with your build. If you have any questions feel free to email me.il answer as many questions as I can.

    What did you get the driveshaft out of and is it a short tail trans ?

    • @KnowlesFamilyGarage
      @KnowlesFamilyGarage  Рік тому

      It's a short tail shaft. It is a stock shaft. I am going to have a new one made that is a couple inches longer. I think to be done right I need the extra bit of length. It will drive me nuts til it's right lol.

    Trust me or not. If you want the electric fuel pump to have a happy long life mount it below the fuel level.

    • @KnowlesFamilyGarage
      @KnowlesFamilyGarage  Рік тому

      Should be fine it has a back flow valve so it will have fuel all the time.
