Warner Bros don't care about the fans
I agree. It so rediculous that actually listening to the fans and superfans (I have put over 300 hours into Knight alone 🤦) would make them so much money 😣
@@TheCrown1313This has nothing to do with WB. Meta is funding and publishing this game
They care about the 10 who own a VR headset
Are they speed running bankruptcy
This is actually very good news and a very smart move.
Looks like it, they had the blueprint for success and burnt it😂
lol not if Meta is paying top dollar to make it exclusive.
@@robertsears8323what do u mean
Absolutely
Sony and Microsoft: console exclusive just don't bring in the unit sales anymore.
Meta: hey guys watch this
Why on earth is WB being so stupid with there games division as they had a successful formula with the Arkham games (Asylum, City, Origins & Knight) alongside Shadow of Mordor/War and Harry Potter IP's but instead they producing everything that their audience doesn't want filled with microtransactions and live service games.
WB is losing money and are trying to get as much profit as possible, I assume before the ship sinks. WB has cancelled Batman movies for tax write-offs. It's run by morons. DC movies were cash grabs with horrible writers and directors. Truly a sheit show.
As good as Arkham Knight was they put way to much focus on the batmobile
Only because fans have been asking for it since Asylum
@@craigl458 I'm sorry, but this is not the time for quibbling about the batmobile. We're facing the very real possibility that we may never get another Arkham game as they try to cram microtransaction garbage down our throats for the rest of eternity, and you're bitching about everything wrong with arguably the best video game of all time.
WB should just give the reins of the video game division to James Gunn...
We’re getting a new Batman Arkham game. YES!
It’s a VR game. WHY!?!
Because it needs to be a VR game. Playing as Batman on a flat screen is garbage VR is the only real way to play a Batman game.
@@robertsears8323 yeah but having a game be VR means most people can’t play it
@@robertsears8323 ...did you not play any of the other arkham games?
People need to stop shying away from VR, it’s a new and much better way to play games unless your a fat lazy gamer who needs constant access to cheesies lol
Most people aren't able to afford VR headsets myself included
After Suicide squad? You mean after Gotham Knights, it’s when they did the whole Ubisoft thing of health bars, damage and gears types, which I’m glad has finally died down a lot more but that system is a plague to making a bad video game
I want more Arkham Origins and Telltale's Batman season 3. I will NEVER get those and I have made peace with that.
I like Arkham knight. But origins was better. It was a great game. It had problems but it didn’t take away from it. They need to re release origins and continue the story.
I think they should just let the arkham games sit where they are and start fresh with a different dc gaming universe or separate games, Arkham told its story and let it be done
As someone who owns a Meta Quest 3, and loved the Arkham games, I’m extremely excited about Arkham Shadow.
To me this is no different than any other console exclusive situation. For years I wished I could play Spider-Man PS4, The Last of Us, God of War… and I couldn’t because they were exclusive to PlayStation.
I’m not sure how this is any different. It sucks, but unless all companies go cross-platform (not likely) - it’s just unfortunately the gaming industry today.
It's being made by Camoflaj which is a first party Meta VR studio. So it's bound to be exclusive
The thing is they already made a vR game before … and no way it sold well enough to make another. Who’s in charge over there???? Who has a meta quest 3?
I think lots of people will be getting them sooner or later. They have some deals with Microsoft/Lenovo/LG/ASUS ROG for additional hardware and software/usability. Plus a much cheaper version of quest 3 for like 300 bucks coming out. Not to mention it's highly likely we will see GTA announced on top of the already announced metro and alien games coming this year.
Meta Quest is funding and publishing this game.
I'm pretty sure Meta Quest is the least popular of all the VR currently being sold. Also there is a market for VR games, but non-VR games are much more popular.
@@jiblitin1520 the quest headsets are the most popular by a large margin. Quest 2 sold 20+ million beating all the current gen Xbox sales for the same time period. Quest 3 preorders were around a million and is very likely to be higher than quest 2. Quest is also the most popular pcvr headset despite it not been designed specifically for that.
The way that WB has handled Batman post Arkham Knight reminds me of how Nintendo handled the Mario 3d Allstars 😣 they are both holding a licence to print money with their respective franchises. They should do a full remake of Asylum, city, origins and Knight while using Knight's engine.
Seriously go reinstall Knight if you own a ps4, ps5 or pc. It will blow your mind to see how incredible it still looks 9 years later.
All of the Arkham games hold up and I loved Origins and believe that it should finally get the recognition that it deserves...from the company that owns it 🤦
Imagine full remasters of all games with a legitimate ps5 upgrade treatment in chronological order including origins! I would buy that as a bundle.
Arkham Knight looks better than a lot of games released more recently.
Batman Arkham origins is on the ps3 store if you still have a ps3
I don’t believe you can get the amazing dlc anymore tho. :’(
@@danielmcneill3521 there is the season pass edition (can’t remember what it’s called) on there in the 40$ range that includes the DLC last time I checked
I have it on disc.
it was on steam
I have it on disc with all DLC and Season Pass content
One, there is a reason why we don't have a Batman FPS. I can't help seeing this as some sort of punching simulator, and goodness knows how we're supposed to do the iconic gliding drop kick.
Man I just want a terry mcguiness Batman “beyond” Arkham game. Preferably one where terry gets trained by the bat family and has a rivalry with Damian.
See, this would be the *ONLY* acceptable way to continue the Arkhamverse to me. Completely ignore the Suicide Squad game, and just have things continue some time after Bruce's death in Knight. It respects Kevin's role and memory (along with the Bruce version of the Batman character), while still being able to continue the property in a good and interesting way. Plus, it'd be cool if Will came back to voice Terry too.
Just reboot or rerelease arkham origins and i would be happy
Someone needs to polish Origins' MP and give it back to me.
Why do people want to pay full price again for an old game
@@McGeezle because the game was never ported to ps4 unlike the last of us which was needlessly remastered with nothing more than a graphical upgrade only a few years apart
Still got origins on the 360 and ps3 so I ain't complaining
@@Cyphyxia ah I forgot about console problems
Am I missing something sorry? I literally have the Batman Arkham origins game on my PlayStation 5 I need to play it but it’s there too play when I want to? I’m probably most definitely misunderstanding here but can someone explain ?
I am genuinely sorry if I just misheard or misunderstood something but I swear PlayStation can play it?
This is gonna cut out 90% of Arkham fans
The Suicide Squat already did that. The VR game is going to make the last 10% of the fans to give up on the series completely.
Last time I was so dissapointed was when I heard that continuation of Alien Isolation was coming and it turned out i was mobile game 😮
Alien VR game due out this holiday season too!
@@samson143vr And I won't be playing it, since I can't afford VR gear and playing VR is making me sick, bu that's okay, at least it will be new, separate thing, not continuation of some beloved game or series.
@@samson143vr yeah so who cares most people don’t have access to VR so it doesn’t matter that the game is even coming out
The meta quest…3? I had no idea those glasses existed or that there were to prior models
How dumb are you?
Exactly. That’s why companies make exclusives 🙂
Kill it with fire. The last VR Arkham Batman game was for ps4 It had important back story but I never saw it as a game more a Interactive episode.
I'm interested in seeing what the story of this game is going to be, even if I don't have a way of playing it.I hope the creative team and everyone else involved do/did a good job.
Did warner brothers do Mad Max? I loved that game
Prediction: few people will buy the game when it comes out and will wait until it’s either shown to be good or until it’s on sale
Dod everyone forgot the team that did arkhamverse is gone? 🤔 or did something change
The one's making Arkham Shadow is not Rocksteady
i’m curious if there is another Scott that works at Whatculture because whenever anyone mentions scott tailford they always say his whole name….anyone else notice that?
Id put money on him being so arrogant he wants his full name saying 😂
I've been saying since origins that they should be doing a Batman Beyond game... W way to get the same game formula out there while keeping the game fresh.
s squad changed the tone of arkham and now they go back to the right tone but wrong game again, at this stage warner are going to stick 'arkham' on every batman game because they know it generates sales, we will get a kart racer called 'arkham road rage' next.
I bet this will be the best VR game ever released
I'd rather they just let the Arkhamverse end. Part of what interested me (and probably a lot of other people) was the fact that it brought back iconic voices for the characters from the animated series. With Kevin gone, I feel like anything Arkhamverse related should just end as well. It's not the same. Just make a new concept instead. If they wanna still use the same combat system or whatever, that's fine, it's a good system, but make a new story that's not connected to the Arkhamverse at all. Just let the Arkhamverse rest in peace.
While I agree it had a good run most gamers just wanted fun Batman stories. I know it would be tough trying to replace Batman with Conroy gone. But there is 1 person who voiced Batman in the Arkham series who would be accepted as he voiced him when Conroy was alive, Roger Craig Smith. I think they can make a new Batman story just don't have it connected to Arkham as it honours Conroy but makes sure us gamers get Batman games. But keep the combat style
This is the kind of thing that VR needs. The reason VR isn’t widespread is because major studios aren’t putting money into VR games. The VR market needs WB, EA, Ubisoft, Gearbox, etc to get invested so that the market can expand. Sony made the PSVR2, but they haven’t put much into supporting it since release.
Ain't no way💀
It's a bit like Half Life Alyx only being VR, yet that was meant to be a good game! I wonder what trend is being chased
But you can play Alyx on a regular screen now, and I bet you'll be able to play this one too, eventually.
@@niveketihw1897 Oh awesome it's been ported or whatever they did to make it for regular Pcs? Nice 😃 yes you are absolutely right the devs of this batman game will port it to regular consoles. Maybe they are getting funded from (I forget what the VR headset company is called) to get a years VR exclusivity or something
I don’t even see an Arkham game working in first person, LET ALONE in VR
Are people mad it's in vr?? I absolutely nut when they announced a vr game, the first vr game is incredibly cool and now we get a fully voiced canon vr game, if it's just the first vr game but more in depth with some combat then it's gonna be incredible
I think the anger stems because we got suicide squad instead of an actual batman game and it's been way too long since knights. If they would have announced a regular batman game plus the VR game no one would be talking about it.
I'm not mad that it's VR. I'm mad that it's a Meta exclusive.
@@jiblitin1520 to be fair that's fair haha. I have psvr 2 and since the first one was on psvr I assumed this one would be aswell. Especially since the team making it made psvr exclusive game previously, I didn't realise it was exclusive that sucks such ass haha. They best had 180 that decision or at least port it later down the lane, barely anyone's gonna play it if it's only on the meta 3
As someone who loves the Arkham games and has a Quest 3 I’m super excited.
Man that's a huge bummer. On another note, I don't think I could ever get tired of Ewan talking about the Arkham games. Just start ranting, not stopping for any reason, and I'd be satisfied for at least an hour or two 🤣🤣
Not only VR but Facebook VR. How about no lol
It more and more feels like Gotham Knights should’ve been “Arkham Knights” and set in the Arkhamverse. Arkham Shadow I couldn’t care for immediately because it’s on VR, WB clearly dont give a sh!t about their audiences
The only reason this game exists is because of Meta. WB has very little to do with this
I'd so rather have a remaster/remake of Arkham Origins.. if we can't have a full-fledged Arlham sequel, that isnt just a 6-hour Quest game (it may end up being 10 hours at most, but still), then at least showing some love for the forgotten Arkham Origins would be the next best thing to do. Not only is VR a niche, its not even going to be on PSVR2 or the superior PCVR platform, its coming to mobile VR only. And yeah, Quest 3 is much better looking than Q2, but its still a mobile VR hardware that is still not the level or quality of PCVR or even PSVR2. I lpve VR, I have a PSVR2 and a Quest 3, and i still think this is total crap... I'd be excited for this if it were either an optional VR mode on a standard flat game, or a companion title that was accompanying the announcement of the next PC/Console Arkham game. It's mind-boggling that WB hasn't/isn't making just a basic, bare-bones Arkham Origins remaster, it would be an easy cash-flow, which is clearly what they want
This is a first party Meta title ala asgards wrath 2. It didn't cost WB development time nor money (the opposite actually I'm sure they were paid well for it.). It's also been in development for around four years. I'm pretty sure this will be a fully featured, full length Arkham game. Could be wrong of course I just find it unlikely considering they would have had an almost unlimited budget.
VR is a hard nope from me. I’ve grown rather sick of manipulative tactics in gaming. Strapping screens to my eyes, with the already predatory use of sound design and rumble mechanics is something I have no interest in. I want this industry to focus on fun, not manipulation.
It would be fine if it wasn't going to be trapped on the worst VR device.
they can't keep getting away with this!!! - Jesse
They need to switch to Batman Beyond. Where Bruce is the Alfred and Terry is the new batman
I personally place Origins as my favourite Arkham game. Then it's City, Knight, and Asylum 🙂 even though I place Asylum as last, I really enjoy its linear style gameplay, its atmosphere. Having a game set in a run down, spooky asylum, always makes a good game 🙂
9 years since Arkham Knight, cool. Probably going to be another 9 before I give another dollar to WB.
I was hoping for an Arkham Origins followup, but not a followup like this...
Ratcatcher is lame to have as the main villain definitely should appear but as the main villain. Man-bat should definitely be in this if they are going with VR and possibly Killer Croc. I probably won't pick it up as I'm not paying for a VR headset for 1 game.
Origins hasn't been re-released on modern consoles because of licensing issues. WB couldn't remaster it even if they wanted to. Look it up and do you research next time.
I can’t believe I love the games series I wanted new one but VR and they want $104 for suicide squad and it don’t look good but this looks good
I hope they don’t make it game a service
Video game publishers are generally never satisfied with sales as they want all the money, how do they then justify making a title for a niche platform like VR.
how's vr gonna work? a first person fighter game? batman dont shoot guns
What a shame. Arkham Shadow could have focused on Dick, Jason and Tim. With Dick taking up being Batman, trying to live up to Bruces legacy, at least until Tim took over, while also trying to fully redeem Jason or at least trying to get him to stop killing people. Deathstroke could be the overall villian for the game
Could alsi make it where Tim is going solo in Gotham while working with Dick and Jason, then maybe halfway through, Tim could take up the cowl. Make Jace Fox his robin or something
Go play Gotham knights
Its wild that post Arkham Knight, this is the 4th Arkham game we've gotten and its still likely to be trash. The other 3 being a mobile game, another VR, and a trashfire GAAS title.
Why are they so insistent on leaving money on the table. Its not even like they need someone whispering in their ear that this is what the community would throw millions of dollars at because the community has been VERY vocal about it for nearly a decade. Then we havent even had a game come close to Arkhams combat system in recent times, and that alone would being able to experience that again alone would be able to sell it like gangbusters. Not even from a gamer standpoint, from a business one, these people make no sense.
Yea.... They TRIP'N, trip'n. With no map
Flat gamers: vr has no games!
Flat gamers: vr can't have games!
They need to go back and fix Origins. It's a really great game, but those bugs and glitches need to get blasted. I still play Origins occasionally because of the story. It's so funny to see the combat bugs still glitching away.
Arkham ended with Knight Mate
I admit it does suck that it's a Quest exclusive, but fortunately I do have a Quest 3, so I will be playing it.
The problem with Arkham origins is that it didn’t star Kevin Conroy and mark hamill, and it felt like it was a paint by numbers game it didn’t do anything new or original.
That's why companies don't give flying F about gamers. Actors don't matter in games like they do in movies.
sad thing is people are going to buy it and buy meta quests to play it, both content creators and fans and the big wigs will see the numbers go up and that will be a factor in what they do next
Why are they making an Origins sequel but they won’t even remaster Origins?!
This is great for VR. We need more games like this. Iron Man was great, so hopefully they continue the trend. It needs PSVR2 and PCVR ports though.
PSVR 2 is dead. Sony stopped making them because they weren't selling.
@@TheNotSureAnd PCVR is also almost dead, the only profitable VR platform is the standalone meta quest
I hope this game fails and sells badly so they HAVE to make a batman game on consoles
All the “Arkham” games are some of my favorite games of all time. I’m glad so many fans are coming around to liking “Arkham
Origins.” 👍
I feel its a bit too early to call this a big L, we barely know anything about it.
This could basically be another arkham VR but a lot longer and better.
It could be a great teaser for the next big arkham game but also be a really good experience on its own.
No game is worth $600
@@mh4lly941 no game costs 600 tho
Same logic could be applied to someone being annoyed they cant play a nintendo game cuz they need to buy a switch and all theyve got is an xbox
VR is just another platform to play games on and its a fun unique experience to
Imagine this game comes out and its great and it teases an even better arkham game for all platforms
Its a win win
Just give it time
If its a flop then we just have to make sure they dont make another one
I'm excited for this as a VR user
There's a new Batman game? If it's a VR game then I'm not playing it.
Honestly, if Suicide Squad was actually successful and not pissed off all the fans of Arkham games, i believe that VR Arkham game would have been received way better.
This VR Batman game is going to fail especially without Kevin Conroy voicing Batman
We still have Roger Craig Smith and Troy Baker and this game will be Arkham Origins sequel
I played Batman VR on the Steam Index, and it was fucking amazing. This will likely be a mega game. How is putting on Meta, any different than it being a console, or PC exclusive?
Uhhh like 5 people have a meta quest 3. IE u can only sell 5 copies. Only way they make money is if meta paid them a dump truck of cash
Ugh of course ppl are complaining how dare meta go like oh look popular franchise let’s make bank on it like be grateful we got anything Arkham related that’s not mid-squad
There was also Batman Arkham VR on the PSVR, so it's not the first "arkham" game to be VR exclusive. I'm sad as I only have psvr1 and Quest 2, but will upgrade eventually and this makes me happy. VR NEEDS more full fledged "AAA" type games. I feel bad for all the folks who seem so against VR or have no interest. It genuinely makes many games better - like RE7, RE4 (really ANY horror game), Assassin's Creed, No Man's Sky, Hitman. Seems the majority of WhatCulture watchers are pancakers only
I actually have interest in VR just can't currently afford it
Why do they still have money to flush down the toilet, when a lot of people can’t afford to meet their basic needs met?
Tax write-offs.
They'll get bailed out, too, if things go bad enough. Need to keep the propaganda wings open.
Prob because it didn't cost them anything and they would have been paid really well to use the IP
I don't know a single person that is having trouble meeting basic needs.
@@cppblank Good for you.

Arkham Origins does not get the respect it deserves. It was a great game. Far better than Knight was. Another one coming only to VR really sucks.
For me it was the best in the series and I love all of them
Does WB hate making money or something
👀 One look at the trailer, I already knew this was trash. Rocksteady has to be the one to run it otherwise….no.
Me: I want another Batman Arkham game.
Evil Genie: Granted. It will be released on Meta VR. It will be 3 hours long and cost $600 to play. It will have no combat, and it will be developed by Camouflaj, a company so insignificant they don't even have a wikipedia page. BHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAA!!!!!
It's a VR game put that in the title
VR needs big name games. Id prefer it be on psvr2 but im still happy its coming.
Harley Quinn still shoots him in the head on a park bench. That's how Arkham Batman ends. I couldn't care less about some random side quest in his past.
After SSKtJL's failure, finally back to Arkham.
Except they want me to spend $500+ on a dust collector, require big brother Meta and then buy their $80 3 hour game, with headache breaks.
I'm really just salty cause I prefer it played on my nice new screens and hardware everyonr just pushed.
For Gotham
Ohhh well what a waste of time of development
Bioshock 2 was clearly the best of the trilogy.
Is there a lore reason Rocksteady developed a VR game? Are they stupid?
Meta paid a lot of money.
Christ. Wtf.
All games are better in VR.
Your (and most of the commenters) reaction to an announcement of a game is what's wrong with the gaming community.
VR is cool but like 90% of the games are just dumb gimmicks. Its bound to get better but its just not there yet for me
Remember when Batman fought a horde of rats?? foh
Arkham Origins needs a re-release. Not likely to get a re-release if any old Fallout games; Bethesda is now behilden to their Microsoft overlords
Hello, video game companies are not in contact with their players at all, it is really maddening and incomprehensible to me; do you want to make money? So why don't they listen to their audience. Ubisoft is another case of those.
One small victory for gamers, Sony backed off the psn required account on Hell Drivers 2. It's a start I suppose.
IMO Arkham Origins was the 2nd best game in the series. Arkham City was the top in that universe obviously, Arkham Knight wasn't that much of leap gameplan wise but Arkham Knight easily had the worse story in the series. And Origins story was amazing IMO.
VR is always shooting itself in the foot.... No one wants 3-4 DIFFERENT VR sets... Instead of putting 10 games on 4 different vrs... Put all 40 on ONE VR set... It is that simple or at least make them cross play
So buy Quest 3, it is actually the best and the most profitable VR headset on the market
@@BadHostile I don't think you are getting the point.
@@zombiejesus7445 I don't think you are getting the point. You may not be very familiar with the VR market, so let me explain. In VR, it's Meta Quest that's mainstream, especially Quest 2, which has sold over 20 million. Last year's holidays both Quest 2 and 3 outsell PSVR2 on Amazon by a 30:1 ratio. Sony no longer wants to invest any more money, so it has stopped production of PSVR2. And literally no one cares about PCVR. The only profitable platform is Quest standalone and practically all VR games go there.
Batman will only come out on Quest 3 because Quest 2 is already 4 years old and Meta wants to push the standalone capabilities to their limits. However, this does not mean that Batman will only be available on the current Quest 3. This year, a cheaper version of Quest 3S/Lite will probably appear, which will displace Quest 2 from the market. Additionally, Meta has opened its Horizon OS operating system to other companies and gave the opportunity to produce their own VR headsets based on the Quest 3 specification. Soon we will see new headsets from ASUS ROG, Lenovo, LG and Xbox VR from Microsoft. They will all run on the same system as Quest 3 and use the same store. Batman: Arkham Shadow will also work on them.
This Batman will not appear on PSVR2 and PCVR because the game is made by Meta and its goal is to promote its system and platform. It will not fund a game that runs on a competing platform.
Think this is really smart of meta and unlike sony they are at least giving their customers justification for buying their product and showing they are serious about making vr more mainstream...now lets hope its actually good.
this is too little too late since Kevin Conroy died. the Arkham games were wonderful but its 9 years too late for this. superhero stuff is getting Old 10 years ago.
