    So, Swedes like to joke about the Norwegians and Norwegians like to joke about Swedes.. :D

      Yes, like a lot of citizens of neighbouring countries do. And both Swedes and Norwegians joke about the Danish. They say the Danish sounded like if they spoke with a hot potato in their mouth. To me they sound like if they are not in the mood for talking.

    I think that it would be more natural to say "på vintern", not "under vintern". And I would say "julhandel", not "julshopping". Julshopping is an anglicisation.

      English: "I love you."
      Norwegian: "Eg elskar deg."
      Faroese: "Eg elski teg."
      Icelandic: "Ég elska þig."
      Swedish: "Jag älskar dig."
      Danish: "Jeg elsker dig."
      Finnish: "Rakastan sinua."

      Finnish isn't even distantly related to the other languages. Russian, Hindi, and Greek are though.

    I got a kick out of Christer trying to imitate Martin's accent. Interesting that Norwegian says "on summer", but Swedish says "under summer", and English says "in summer".

    • @creativename3256
      @creativename3256 7 років тому +5

      John Crane We don't say on summer, at least not anyone I know. It probably depends on the regional accent. I say "om sommeren" which directly translates to "about/around summer". It's interesting how different the prepositions are in different countries. I had a really hard time learning on/in/at because of that.

      Like we do in DK :) "om sommeren"

    • @meadish
      @meadish 2 роки тому

      I would say 'på sommaren' is what would come out most naturally for most Swedes in the spoken language.
      'Under sommaren' is ok, but compared to 'på sommaren' it is somewhat formal/stilted or sounds 'translated'. 'Om sommaren' is also ok in Swedish, but it sounds more 'poetic' or slightly old fashioned.
