Hey man I just got my 2015 CLA 45 last week! Completely new to mods/tuning. I was wondering if there is a way to increase the hp, BUT keeping the “farting” sound?
Hey Boosted Bunny I just purchased a CLA45 AMG that had a blow off valve that was removed because it caused a check engine light. Is the blow off valve something that can only be used if you pair it with a piggyback ecu chip? Did adding the valve to your car cause any problems such as a check engine light?
Yes! I'm trading my Hemi in for an AMG GL, just found out about this upgrade. Also, I live in Milwaukee and go down to the Chi all the time, where did you have your AMG lowered and tune installed?
Why did you get a bypass valve or “blow off” valve as you guys love calling it. The turbocharger system in ALL AMG vehicles are designed to prevent compressor surges. I don’t need to explain how it works, just know you’re installing a useless valve for an extra “sound.”
Boosted Bunny ....You aren’t following. You really think AMG engineers wouldn’t factor this in? The system IS designed to handle the pressure after you let off the accelerator. As an engineer, I would be fired if I designed a turbo without protection of the compressor wheel/housing. It has a diverted valve stock, which is recirculated. I can very slightly hear mine with the windows down in close proximity to other cars or in a tunnel. The company’s who sell these “blow off” valves are selling them to make money, not “protect” anything.
Mr. FE great looks like we are both MEs! My bachelor's is from U of M, Ann arbor. The stick was designed for stock pressure. When raised to the levels I did, the blow off valve release the pressure instead of holds it. That's a lot of pressure for the stock system to hold and reduces the life of the turbo. These are basic engineering facts man.
Jonathan's Channel thanks man. Not sure if I'll mod it because I want to keep the resale value high. Only wheels and tires for now. Evos are some of my favs. 4 bangers with power are my jam tho.
Boosted Bunny you can always keep the stock parts and put back on. I would do the basics...dp, exhaust, tune, intake, bigger injectors for an e85 dual map. They are monsters on some corn.

You never did a test of tricolores piggy back . I’d love to see how it goes since that rebellion was a piece of crap I’d like to see if Matt did better when he went solo . Have heard better reviews now that he’s on his own .. so test the piggyback already 🙏🏻
Boosted Bunny it was very jerky at most times and was kinda uncomfortable as of the timing was way to advanced and that was even with it set at 3 and at other points it felt as if the time wasn’t even working . So now it’s sitting in the garage . Stock tune is perfect until o fine a better piggyback or a good Ecu tune , that why I was curious to see ur review on the TP piggyback

Deadwreckz a BOV should be able to be used regardless. I'm guessing it was installed wrong.
Do you need to keep the tuner plugged into the obt port ?
This tune bia not an OBD port tuner. This is a piggyback that stays plugged in in the engine bay. OBD tuners you do not need to keep plugged in.

An Nguyen you don't need a tune with the intake or BOV. The box (ECU piggyback) is a tune tho pretty much just increased the boost pressure.

Does the ukdm spec different from from the usdm spec, or he have an older model 2013 - august 2015,
Sept 2015 models up have 375hp

Mr. FE because the increase in Boost is a lot for the stock valve so the blow relieves the extra pressure that the stock system isn't designed for.

You order parts from the UK when AMS is in Chicago and tuned and built parts for the quickest stock turbo cla amg. Yiur bov is pretty ricey too

m J what was wrong with the rebellion tune. I never had it so I can’t speak to it but I can look for that when I do the review of this.

Brian Heiden 2014/2015 had 355. They
tweaked the engine in 2016 to have 381. The tube takes both to 430
