This is an adorable knit stitch, and it was explained so well! The visuals were more than helpful and the framing and lighting were perfect, thank you so much for this tutorial!
How amazing it is to learn a new stitch that's both beginner friendly and reversible!!!! Your video helped me do a lace stitch for the first time and it feels amazing! After trying with some medium yarn and 5.5 mm knitting needles, I assume that the tinnier the yarn is, the more delicate and beautiful this pattern will be...and it will give me motivation to pick up yarn I previously avoided, so thank you!
Great video! I've been knitting for over 5 years, but I haven't learned any new stitches other than ribbing and seed stitch. This video was super easy to follow and now I have a cute new stitch to use on my rococo style ballgown that I'm working on!
I'm looking for a cute pattern for a long loose cardigan (I'm not sure you call it a cardigan though). I think I found it in this tutorial. Thank you, Joanne for this adorable and LOVE-ly heart pattern 🥰🥰🥰
I'm a beginning knitter and I absolutely love the simplicity of this pattern and how beautiful it is! ❤️ Thank you so much for sharing. I will be adding this into a blanket
serendipity seriously, I have been wanting to do a summer shawl and I have been unable to pick a stitch, and "poof" this pops up and it is perfect :D thanks for great timing!
I have this super soft yarn that I'm still debating what to make with it, but I have decided I am DEFINITELY using this stitch! I've seen some of the other stitches you have shown and love them!
Thanks! I just started knitting and your videos have been immensely helpful! I’ve been exploring some of your other videos as well, such as the bamboo stitch and twisted stitch. I love the twisted stitch and have tried it multiple times.
I have only been able to master the knit stitch, despite multiple people trying to teach me for multiple years. I actually have hope of being able to do this! Thank you!!😍💜
Thank you Joanne, I hope you are well. This is as you said a simple pattern and easy to follow. It is very pretty on both sides. I quite fancy trying this little hearts pattern with the yarn I already have as a sample for now. 😊🌹
Thank you.For you are helping me learn beautiful patterns without all the difficulties. You are a great person to learn from as l am improving the quality of my knitting..Thank you very much Joanne
This is just AMAZING! One of the most beautiful stitches in my entire knitting life! (just after sending this comment, I noticed that there's a very similar comment below... :) )
Just ran across this pattern, was very intimidating to look at. But I Actually got it with your wonderful tutorial, very well explained, Thank You so much!!!
Pretty nice! I don't unravel but knit firs and when l put the stitches at the right needle it unravels itself! lf you unravel you can do with both stitches at one time. That's faster! Stitch works very well! Thank you!
Conny, I loved your idea of creating this pattern without unraveling (I’m a fan of efficiency!), but I found it a bit fussy to knit the left stitch under the right stitch. So, I do this whole pattern with purl stitches; I purl the wraps row, and on the return row, I purl the left stitch and pull it over the right stitch to unravel, then purl the right stitch. It feels less fussy and is faster for me. I’m a continental knitter. Thanks for sharing your idea!
Hi I love your channel and am so glad I discovered it. Your format is wonderful for teaching and your very good. I love your different knit patterns and have saved all I’ve seen to my knitting playlist. Right now I’m making a baby blanket using the ‘old shale (shell) stitch which is beautiful but so many of your would also have worked. In the future I’ll refer to your channel to select a stitch pattern. Thank you so much!☺️
I love this pattern it looks so pretty . Thank you so much for sharing it , my human is making a little knitted throw out of it ; ) Thanks to us discovering your channel last autumn my human has learnt to knit , I now have lots of little jumpers/ sweaters . Take care :D Teddy
so pretty and you did a nice job in showing exactly how to do it. Thank you. How would you bind off? also what kind of yarn were you using? I was also thinking it would make a lovely table runner!!
Love this stitch first thank you for you teaching us this beautiful stitch. I wykd Luke to make this as a scarf for my Best friend and her daughter . Can you suggest the type of fiber or yarn to buy My friend is 60 years old
So cute, looks like yarn is dancing between needles. Could you please share the video for increse and decrease stich on knit and purl side? Thank you so much ❤️
What a hoot! How cute! Can I make a beanie in this? Love that space when knitting second row so you can get to knit second stitch first!! Perfect as always!! Love what and HOW you do what you do do do Joann! Hey do we crochet too?? Barb
When I work this pattern in the round, for row one I knit the double wraps, and I purl row two without unraveling. In other words, I purl the left stitch and pull it over the right stitch and off the needle to unravel, then purl the right stitch and pull it off the needle. It speeds up the whole process for me in two ways - it saves the time that would be spent on unraveling the stitches by moving them between needles, and it’s less fussy to purl the left over the right versus knitting the left under the right. I’m a continental knitter. Oh, and you also get to see the tiny hearts developing on the outside of your work versus the pattern being hidden on the inside of the round thing that you’re creating. 🤓
Hi I love love love this pattern but I have a question? What happened when you lost an stitch, I wanted to do a cardigan for the hot weather but I did not do it cause I don’t know how to fix lost stitch 😅
I know it’s a lot of patterns it requires for net and pearl on each side because most people keep their knitting needles on one side is this one of those patterns that requires knit on both sides. Just wanting to clarify before trying
I know what you mean, but actually double wrapping a stitch doesn’t create 2 stitches - it only elongates the stitch, so the number of stitches stays the same.
You need to increase and decrease by repetitions. The first 2 and last 2 stitches might be done by not double turn and on the way back take those 2 stitches and follow pattern.
This is an adorable knit stitch, and it was explained so well! The visuals were more than helpful and the framing and lighting were perfect, thank you so much for this tutorial!
That’s one of the prettiest knit patterns I’ve seen in a long time. Love it! Thank you for sharing with us!
I made two shawls of this pattern last year for my daughter and niece.
Now my other niece wants it too.
Stay blessed always Ameen.
Such a beautiful pattern! I love it too.

Such a good feeling to read you! Yes, the thinner the yarn, the lacier it will look.
Great video! I've been knitting for over 5 years, but I haven't learned any new stitches other than ribbing and seed stitch. This video was super easy to follow and now I have a cute new stitch to use on my rococo style ballgown that I'm working on!

Nice 👌
Pretty good stich

My friend is 60 years old
Any nice combination of Cotton and Bamboo, or Cotton and Linen. A#4 yarn will be nice...faster. Use #8US needles (5mm)

Your are 🤩 amazing
Thank you so much!!!
Muchas gracias, hermoso!
When working in the round, would you purl with a double wrap for row 1 instead of knitting, and then keep row two the same?
Yes. That will work.
@@JoannesWeb Thanks!!
When I work this pattern in the round, for row one I knit the double wraps, and I purl row two without unraveling. In other words, I purl the left stitch and pull it over the right stitch and off the needle to unravel, then purl the right stitch and pull it off the needle. Великолепно❣
Hi I love love love this pattern but I have a question? What happened when you lost an stitch, I wanted to do a cardigan for the hot weather but I did not do it cause I don’t know how to fix lost stitch 😅
I suggest you run a lifeline on your work. It's difficult to pick up lost stitches on some patterns.
Wow, I love it. Wondering what kind of yarn you are using?
It's aKnitCrate Yarn
I have been doing a practice run of this stitch before I incorporate it into my shawl, and I keep doubling my stitch count how do I prevent this
You are probably not unraveling 2 stitches.
very nice how can i make it on circular needles
You can
@@JoannesWeb thanks dear . Will the procedure be the same?
Hi
Love this stich. Wondering type and color yarn this is?
Thanks
KnitCrate. Can't remember the name but I'll look.
What's the best way to increase/decrease when using this stitch? I think this would make such a cozy shawl!
I would usa yarn overs. Maybe a garter edge: k3, yarn over, and continue with the stitch. Knit last 3. Do the same on the way back.
When i do a double yarn over i get 3 loops instead of 2. As i watch you yours come out to just one yo. I can’t figure out what i am doing wrong.
When you yarn over, your yarn is in the back, since you're knitting. The yarn is placed on the needle from under to front, twice.
I know it’s a lot of patterns it requires for net and pearl on each side because most people keep their knitting needles on one side is this one of those patterns that requires knit on both sides. Just wanting to clarify before trying
Yes. It's knit on both sides.
JoannesWeb awesome thank you so much. I truly appreciate you clarifying that for me now I got two blankets to make
Without actually knitting this I would think it would double each 2 rows. How is this staying straight
It does! And it doesn't roll.
I know what you mean, but actually double wrapping a stitch doesn’t create 2 stitches - it only elongates the stitch, so the number of stitches stays the same.
How do you increase and decrease with this stitch? Trying to make a bandana for my mother.
You need to increase and decrease by repetitions. The first 2 and last 2 stitches might be done by not double turn and on the way back take those 2 stitches and follow pattern.
Hello,
Can this pattern be made in the round.
Yes. I'll make a short video on how to do it.
Much appreciated
