@@czeynerlamentemusical8048no he’s right, czerny’s first set of nocturnes were written in 1840 while Chopin’s in 1831, no less when Chopin was only 21. And on top of that, 12 Chopin nocturnes were published by the time czerny’s op 368 set was published.
@@ciararespect4296 I know I’m just responding to the fact that he said Chopin would be nothing without czerny when it’s clear czerny took influence from Chopin’s nocturnes and not John field. In fact Chopin’s nocturnes are so drastically different than fields’ that fields himself is said to not like Chopin’s nocturnes. The reason Chopin gets so much credit for his nocturnes is because he took what fields had and applied techniques never seen before on piano.
@@mrdjwess645 field didn't like Chopin nocturnes? That's crazy. I've heard all of Fields and they're pretty boring compared to Chopin who took them to the limit of style and invention. And yes Czerny took influence from Chopin and didn't do as well imo either
