I am absolutely OBSESSED with the costumes in this movie, especially The Baroness. I watched several times already, one time with only pausing and admiring the dresses, I couldn't even focus on the dialogue properly. I felt like they weren't shown off enough in the movie, that was surely a lot of work. But that's what the pause button is for nowadays. ;) I also had the impression that she had a lot of great looks but TWENTY-ONE, Jesus Christ!
Ikr! When I first watched it I couldn’t even focus on the dialogue as well. I loves Cruella and her dresses. And the Baroness was OWNING those dresses!! They did an outstanding job picking Emma Stone and Emma Thompson for the roles. I loved the film so much! I’m going to watch it again Next week!!
@@ashley-et6pj Same here...I'm interested to open up my own boutique. Cruella gives a lot of inspiration to me to start designing clothes. Of course we have to take sewing couses first :)
She and Emma Stone fucking carried the movie, they are just so good ! Others just , plain forgetful. I finally had something to watch on repeat other than devil’s wear Prada lol.
I'm actually glad they gave us a female villain rather than this being a female-bashing male film. And they didn't treat all the male characters like incompetent dummies. The butler was a good man trying to protect Cruella, and Jaspar and Horace had concerns for Cruella going too far. And that's something I actually liked about the film.
Emma Thompson really is underrated as an actress who can play baddies. I think this might be her first role as a villain and I AM LIVING FOR IT. She really aged gracefully and the costumes were exquisite. Dame Emma’s acting is to die for and somehow comparing her to Miranda Priestly is an understatement 👁👄👁 Looooved to hate the Baroness, would love to see her in the sequel (tho I kinda doubt it).
maybe she escapes with help, then kills the Dogs of Cruella which she grew on now just for the beginning of her revenge on cruella. then she could try to convince the people that cruella murdered the Dogs just so she could make a Coat out of them... that would explain why she would be seen as a killer of Animals.
The Baroness is such a stylish icon. There is so much sophistication, class, glamour and elegance involved here. She so reminds me of I, me and myself.💄
I just love her Sassy, High headed, glamorous diva portrayal. Exactly as I imagined a rich white fashion house executive. Emma Thompson totally killed this role. 👌🏾👌🏾👌🏾🎩🎩🎩🎩
Emma Thompson's role as a self-centered psychopath is absolutely exquisite. I never laughed so hard whenever her part came on the screen. What an actor. She was delicious to watch!
i think it's kind of hilarious how much less popular this video is comparison to the costumes for cruella. you've edited them both real well, it's just funny to me.
Emma Thompson continues to be one of the purest delights in the world. She looks fabulous in this and her character is wonderful-haven't even seen the movie just clips and I already prefer her over Cruella (eta... the Baroness vs Cruella, not Emma vs Emma)
Emma Thompson played Sybill Trelawney as well. Being able to portray such polar opposite characters, it says something about her acting skills. She also voiced Captain Amelia of Treasure Planet.
In 2:17 I can see before my inner eye how Emma died inside as the chair hit the maid and how she went into an "Imsorryimsorryimsosorry" spiral as soon as the director said cut. That chair really hit her shin.
It's a cut when the camera whips to the maid and then whips back. So Emma just threw a chair at nobody and they whipped the camera then got an effects shot where they probably barely threw a prop chair (that's very light) against her leg and she reacted
Loved this film. Loved the costumes, loved two strong female leads appropriately aged....am going to rewatch it over and over for the dresses and pretend that one day I will get to wear such things. Couture and two female leads. Perfect.
The clear West African themes of these looks are fierce darling - we need to me mention so we can all pay homage 👑 I passed out with every headress 🔥🔥🔥
I immediately recognized it, unfortunately others won't! Especially the third beige outfit with the squares, reminds me of every nigerian festive outfit my mother wore the last 10 years
@@k.m.1718 Your right! But like every outfit screamed rich west African auntie and I'm wondering why they went for this theme as this movie has no ties to the culture what's so ever - or am I missing something?
From what I read The Baroness’s garments are inspired by Dior, specifically 1950s Dior. Perhaps Dior used some West African for his inspirations during that time that they have replicated. I love the combination of the African elements with the traditional European dress silhouette. Unique and fabulous ❤️
Just discovered this gem 💎. Emma Thompson as BARONESS is so deliciously OTT. Costumes and sets absolutely divine excess. Believe costume designer won an Oscar? There should have been many more Oscars for this film. Absolutely for Emma Thompson. 🏆. 😎. 👑
The scene where she confronts an it's at the press building was my favorite outfit, especially with the purse, but unfortunately it wasn't in the video 😭
Emma Thompson's character in this movie reminds me a little of Glenn Close's character in The Devil Wears Prada. That being said, this is still a great movie.
She really was the highlight of this movie. A perfect villain.
Yeah. Her and Emma Stone did so well
Yes darling, you’re so right. Love her.
The character is one dimensional evil fashionista... But Emma Thompson delivered the role perfectly
But cruella is the villian.....
@@rhysevans9942 a villain created another villain
I know Emma Thompson said some of the costumes the Baroness wore were extremely uncomfortable, but good god, all of them are fabulous!
Not the costumes but the corset she had to wear underneath them. And indeed they were amazing!
@@R.N.19 Ah, my bad. Thanks for the info!
I wonder which?
@@DonoZeek like the top comment stated it likely wasn’t the garments themselves but the underwear like the corsets and such. ❤️

Emma Thompson's role as a self-centered psychopath is absolutely exquisite. I never laughed so hard whenever her part came on the screen. What an actor. She was delicious to watch!
My favorite thing about them is they are all sharp lines and edges so she looks cold, controlled, and threatening without saying a word.
“How do I look?”
“Fabulous”
“Well I know that…”
Honestly the only reason I watch this move over and over is for her 😂 she is a queen 😏
