To clear things up, this isn't an actual rework, I literally copied the changes from his transition to tank. This video is less so rework based, and more so me metaphorically bursting into tears and begging for dps doom to come back :(
As dps doomfist you’d often times have to do rollouts in order to abruptly sneak up on the enemy otherwise you’d be killed before you could even get in range to do damage.Luckily blizzard made him a tank.
I think I prefer the risk mixed with the damage potential, to be honest. It's great that his tankiness gives him a large safety net, but it's far more fun in my opinion to be dealing damage with crazy plays than just soaking it up.
@@sariuswasstolenalready The only way I can see doom as a proper tank is if he has his old kit and dmg values are brought back. In ow1 doom could tank for his team by doing a seismic rollout but as you said it’s very high risk high reward, but tbh I think it was a very good skill ceiling. It’s crazy because dps doom had unlimited potential which made him a perfectly designed character that you could constantly build upon.
@@QaundaleDingl exactly i agree, more complicated characters mean higher skill ceiling meaning much more fun mastering them. Tank doom can be mastered way easier than dps doom, which makes me sad, as once you hit the top where can you even go.
Overall i feel like his punch should do more damage more than anything, if somebody is getting decent heals it makes it nearly impossible to kill them since support are strong rn.
I agree, disregarding the changes in the video as they aren't really serious, his punch feels very very weak compared to what it's described as. For some reason the devs always seem to add higher stun when they buff him, meaning he gets inevitably nerfed later on because its too annoying. I think a damage increase is a nice little balance in between an increase in power for doom, and the ability to counter him.
@@sariuswasstolenalready and one thing i never really understood why the nerfed the damage on the primary fire if they specifically made his primary fire finish his combo
@@diobrando4914 yeah i agree actually, like obviously they couldn't have his punch one shotting when he's a tank, its just too easy to hit, but the primary nerf made it feel so weak in comparison
Jokes aside, I think that if they just kept Doomfist the same as his beta version (OW2), but with slightly higher rocket punch damage, he would've been perfect.
Never gonna happen. Doom will stay a tank, that's certain. So any rework that Blizz might do should go in an opposite direction, making Doom a high mobility harassing tank, instead of a semi-dps tank. Right now Doom is probably the worst character overall, because he's trying to fill two roles at the same time and not doing well in any of them. He's for sure the worst tank in game, the only way he can help out his team is by diverting attention. His dps is pretty bad too, with Orisa, Junkerqueen and Rammatra putting out significantly more dps overall. Give him more overshield gain and decrease fist cd and cast time and he'll be in a great spot imho. He'd finally fill his tank shoes and wouldn't be a burden to his teammates
I wouldn't say he's the worst tank, he still fulfills his own disruptor niche in a similar way to wrecking ball, but yeah I agree he needs quite a few changes. It's more just hopeful thinking on my part because I miss dps doom :(
It will never happen the devs hated doom fist because the devs are literally all silver players if you watch any of the dev streams where they talk about their ranks you will see why lmao

I agree, I just really miss how unique doom felt to the rest of the cast, especially for an fps game.

dps doom actually earned the one punch man skin not tank fist
a glass cannon basically

It's a desperate bid for blizzard to give back what they took :(
