Dan doing the egg task was basically exactly like a task from the show. The elaborate set up at the start, disassembling that elaborate set up in favor of a crazy scheme that seems unlikely to work, the near triumph followed by despair, and then finally the sarcastic one point awarded from Greg

I felt the same but it's turned out better than I expected. Though I'd be lying if I didn't admit I wish there was a non VR version for people who can't afford VR headsets or prefer playing on consoles.
@@actionsam7878 I feel like it just wouldn't be as enjoyable outside of VR, since the fun part of the gameshow is the physical manipulation of objects and VR is perfect at interactivity with game elements, so it just fits perfectly.
@@tateganim2238 it is not, it goes up on there and publicly 2 weeks or so after, the podcats just hasn't been done recently purely just for the reasons of they've been busy with alot of stuff and hadn't got around to doing one
I love how you can see the logic in some of the tasks that let you cheat. Making a sandwich- The task STARTS when you are holding both spatulas. So you can get the bread, toast it, cook the meat, set everything out nice and easy to access. THEN pick up the spatulas and put it together. Move the egg as far as you can before putting it in the frying pan. Righht next to you is a coffee cup and a spatula. Put the Cup on the spatula, set up a box under thew tube. Have the egg fall into the cup, THEN pick up the spatula and balance the cup and egg as you walk as far away as you can.Carry the Pan in your other hand, when you're far away enough, drop the egg / cup into the frying pan. The developers knew the show well, and they perfectly set it up for you to be cheeky about your solution.

Blade and Sorcery just hit 1.0 recently with a soft story mode and lots of new abilities and things. Highly recommend checking it out if you haven’t already.
This might be the game that finally gets me to consider getting a VR headset. I’d love to see a Podcats collab video competing in this (though since Jon hasn’t seen Taskmaster as far as I know, he might be less interested than Dan and presumably Matt would be)
@@amyshaw893tbh I don't think it's that similar, different style, different objectives, different type of gameplay. It's just hard to make a VR game where you go "do something" feel different to a similar do something game, especially when most VR games are mostly about showing off their physics engines Like I can see the similarities but I wouldn't call it reskinned at all, it's still very different, it's just following the VR game design

Dan is the one that got me into taskmaster, in high school I used to scour reddits that were all about British panel shows just to find a Google drive the current season on it. Great times now They're pretty much just all on UA-cam so I basically wasted a bunch of time

I'm definitely going to pick this up at some point. But holding off for now until they fix some things. I've heard it runs pretty badly at times and could see frame drops in this video and the janky physics would really annoy me. There's a certain physics jank acceptability in VR and based on the video it exceeds it for me personally. So hopefully some things get fixed but it's does look like a lot of fun.
