True 2P machine strategy: look around for the ones that are super close to falling, spend just enough to get the goodies, find the next one about to fall and repeat. If none are about to fall wait for some chump to spend a bunch of money getting no goodies but bringing them closer to the edge then jump in when they step away to get more tokens. I may have pissed a few people off...
I know a lot of people have said this, but I've been watching this channel for over a decade and this genuinely is maybe the best era of this channel.
The best era is actually from 2025 - 2030 but you’re too young to understand it yet

It's funny how both Dan and Ashens has shown up in TomSka skits. Infact, Ashens showed up in the sequel to The Hole "The Orb". UK Tubers sometimes feel like they're well connected with each other.

My god, it's been over a decade, but Nerdcubed has slipped through the cracks and made it back into my recommended.
Also the physics to this game are so good but they somehow can't replicate the millions of coins that somehow hang 20cm over the shelf without falling.

I wasn't sold on this 'trickle down economics' thing but having seen a simulation of the physics I'm pretty convinced.
I don't know what British coins are made of, but American coins are mostly zinc, which is not magnetic. This is actually exploited by some vending machines, which use a magnet to catch steel coin slugs.
Due to rising metal prices the 1p and 2p changed from bronze to copper-plated steel in 1992, followed by the 5p and 10p going from cupro-nickel to nickel-plated steel in 2011.
all our coins are made from a cheap metal but then just lightly plated with a more shiny metal to make them look nicer lol
@@cool110 Ah, that'd explain it--steel is definitely magnetic. The US minted some steel pennies during WWII, since regular pennies were made of entirely copper alloy rather than copper-plated zinc back then, and copper was getting scarce due to the war; as a result, the 1943 steel pennies are the only regular-issue US coins that can be picked up with a magnet.
@@yetanother9127 Some steels are magnetic (the vast vast majority in fact) but not all. Notably, a handful of stainless steel variants aren't.

9:50 in the US, these machines are consistently either quarters, or, more likely in modern arcades, tokens that don’t even leave the machine.
this often completely ruins the game - instead of getting more coins to use when you knock them off, you get like two worthless tickets.

I always won on coin pushers, the key is not to be the person putting the money in, but to be the person who walked past the machine 15 mins later when it finally pays out and the person who put the money in gave up and walked off long ago.

Before I realized arcades are way better when you actually play the games and not just soft gambling, I LOVED the Pac-Man coin pusher called Pac-Man Ball. Both the 2p and 10p versions were EVERYWHERE where I am (I live just a stone's throw from Cleethorpes).
