Why did you call Joel Seedman White? He's clearly Jewish. Seedman is a joke, and us Jewish folks need to own this one instead of passing the buck on to White folks! 😅
How about doing an unstable exercise after one of the staples? I was trained by a guy who trains gold medal Olympians (this was 20 years ago). He swore by this method. Eg. Chest press superset by pushups on a bosu or Swiss/therapy ball. Front squat or back squat superset with bodyweight squats on bosu ball or Swiss ball?
Doing my eccentric isometric hip hinged banded explosive box squat jumps with the earthquake bar and super setting with isolateral dual kettlebell static swings while watching this video.
The most annoying thing about Seedman is that apparently 80% of the time, he trains people with the standard stuff even though his Instagram reel is only the useless stuff. Dude is just a boring clickbaiter.
I was going to comment, but you beat me to it. Seedman's 80/20 principle: do standard lifts 80 percent of the time, complex lifts 20% of the time. Basically, grow and get stronger from the 80% and do the 20% for ... reasons.
I find it annoying that he uses such jargon, which is fine for some audiences, that will reach mostly casual viewers. They may not understand some of it and just assume that it is totally correct!
Mike talking about how not everyone likes RP, and that some people have actually gotten negative results from the program speaks volume to his integrity to me. Yes, not everything works for everyone, that's the real world. For him to actually say that goes a long way to demonstrate honesty, transparency and integrity and I am here for it.
The worst part about that neck ball nonsense is that athlete is Chris Carson, an incredibly tough running back for Seattle Seahawks, who unfortunately had to retire prematurely because of *checks notes* a NECK INJURY. I'd call that poetic justice if I didn't feel so bad for Mr. Carson who was indeed a tough football player. Can't make this stuff up.
I'm shocked you aren't also calling him out on not even doing 90 degrees on any of his squats. He's doing like 45 degrees because he's not strong enough to do those weights at all.
I left a comment saying this exactly to Joel and he responded by saying that his knees did in fact hit 90° because he was leaning more forward at the ankles... I was shooketh 🤣🤣
Half squats and quarter squats are better for explosiveness when it comes to athletic population. There's a study on this by Rhea et. al. called 'Joint-Angle Specific Strength Adaptations Influence Improvements in Power in Highly Trained Athletes '. Pretty sure partial roms for squats also improve full squat max. Point is half and quarter squats simulate the starting position in sprinting and jumping. There was a question at 14:45 - "why are you training instability", I could try to answer that, there are many throws in Judo that could require some strength while balancing on one leg, Dr.Mike should know that. @@sirdanomanHe even said that a lot of the scenes he are in use camera tricks to make him look bigger.
@@higherpowerfitness2115 I know a lot of what went into the role was his diet, which was mostly junk. Plus all the camera magic and boot lifts made Tom look bigger than he was. I guess I was thinking more along the lines of getting a more definitive or impressive physique for a villain like Bane or how he would do it differently for a movie. I know Tom Hardy definitely didn’t have a peak look for Bane or ate well. It was more a curiosity thing because I like Bane and Tom Hardy and would want to see how Dr. Mike would eat/train for it
It makes me so happy Dr. Mike is one of the people that is bothered by people abusing the word 'literally'.
Saying your own product isnt magic or for everyone because its the real world is g shit. that is the genuine attitude you love to see.
Mike has definitely earned the respect he has.
I lost it at 12:01 🤣Classic Dr. Mike!
While this video is 10/10 entertaining, it's also helpful! There are so many trainers/influencers out there who are full of crap, and this helps teach you how to spot red flags 🚩🚩🚩
Chris Carson was literally perpetually hurt and retired from a neck injury. Great job Seedman!
This vid is Dr. Mike at his absolute best. I laughed all the way through.
5:29 I am a black man and i firmly agree with mike 😂😂😂
Lmfao I just got a vshred ad before this video
Lucky! Then you can report it for misinformation! Wish I still got them so I could keep reporting..😔✊🏼
I was done with fitness and bb channels on YT...and then I found Mike. :D
Man, you took off the gloves on this one. And I am all for it :)
He looks like the Dr.Oz of exercise science😂
He's
Lol man, those squats at 3:12 are among the dumbest things I have seen in my life.
LMAO there was so much static during this video that I actually began to look at my phone to see if someone was trying to call. When I realized the static was coming from trying to bleep out all the f@*kery in the video I lost it
Bravo Scott the video guy and dr Mike. I giggled all the way through my cardio with this one 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I haven't laughed as hard as I did at 5:20 in years. I inhaled my coffee and I've been choking on it for a solid few minutes. I don't even have words for how hilariously dumb that "exercise" was hahaha
His "special" approaches, "special" as in special school not as in special forces
There was a question at 14:45 - "why are you training instability", I could try to answer that, there are many throws in Judo that could require some strength while balancing on one leg, Dr.Mike should know that.
No idea why is the dude training for it, but the exercise itself might have some use.. maybe.
Then just practice the throw. You lift weights to get stronger, not practice balance.
I just love Dr. Mike’s sighs. 😂
1:45 uhm akshually, 🤓 the stealth abilities of stealth fighters depends entirely on the outside of the frame, not its circuitry 🤓
:P Yeah, but if Skunkworks told us "it's just black paint; any black paint will do the trick", I'd be *very* surprised.
