Got the Samsung tab a7 a few weeks ago from Amazon but had to return it because the screen kept flickering in dark mode. I didn't have this issue with my samsung tab a 10.1 which I've been using for over a year now. The tab a7 is better than tab a 10.1 in every department except for screen. So if screen is most important then samsung tab a 10.1 is better and far cheaper than samsung tab a7. I mostly use mine to read pdf documents and Kindle books and I don't play any games so I'm satisfied with the tab a 10.1
Ivan you are the man. Your commentary is so warm and coherent and the way you are able to produce such high quality video on all high low and even midrange products is amazing. I have been trying to decide between the s6 lite and a7 and due to your videos I’ve picked the lite because of the added pen and the fact that now I have found them around the same price. Oh I forgot to tell you, I got the Tab A 7 at Target, it was on sale and I snagged it for $119. Better than B&H, or Amazon at the time of purchase (last month).
I have the Tab A 10.1 and it has served me well. I'm moving to the big leagues though and I've got a Tab S7 heading my way here shortly. Pretty stoked about it.

@@kantamayengbam5970 Yes! Just video playback and light stuff with very low brightness , medium power saving mode you can easily get around 15 to 16 hrs of SOT. (Note: When you use Tablet's 4 speaker with full volume it drains battery quite faster)
@@bleakarro oh yes. I mean I didn't have the A 10.1, so can't give a personal comparison but it's really good. I also got a wireless keybord so it's like having another laptop. Very convenient. I was also skeptical at first but since I got, it I've honestly enjoyed it.

I recommend the "soft refresh" - press the power button and the lower volume button at the same time, until it turns off. Turning it off when you're not using it, like over night is also good for the system's health.

@Cath I think you will use the tablet for media consumption. Go for the tab A7 because of the larger screen and more modern look. The ipad 8th gen looks dated.

Good built quality, amazing sound, good display, Average performance considering price its good ...what I most love about this tablet is Samsung's One UI, its smooth and fluid with amazing battery life (about 10-16hrs of screen on time).. I think its a pretty solid device. Reason to buy: If you are looking for a device for media consumption, reading books and for average gaming, I think this device is for you. Reason not to buy: If you want to play heavy games with high graphic setting or you want heavy Muti tasking then this device is not for you. You need to increase your budget you can look for S6 Lite or s7 maybe.

Thanks for the support! In direct sunlight outside, you definitely lose some visibility, manageable for sure depending of your vision, but visibility is affected. However, if outdoor but the sun is not super bright, let's say mid morning or evening, the screen will still be visible.

I today had the chance to get either of these (near new) for 60GBP (yeah, just $80) and chose the older Tab-A due to what you said about being able to use the micro sd card for storing Apps, something I couldn't do on my older Huawei Mediapad T5 and which resulted in me having to constantly delete Apps to make way for new Apps etc. Thanks Ivan.

Hi Ivan. I had a question. For work productivity, like typing documents on Google Docs, do you consider using Tab A, or A7? And with a keyboard of course.
The A7 will probably deliver better productivity performance than the 10.1 would. You can definitely hook up a keyboard also. Keep in mind of course that despite being marginally better in terms of performance, it is still not well suited for high/heavy productivity work like an s6 or an s7/s7+ is. That being said, it will well suited for light productivity work as you aforementioned

As far as accessories, I personally didnt get one specifically for the 10.1, but I dont generally recommend the official samsung book cover for a tablet in this category because they wont offer that much despite their price point. On the other hand, I would suggest checking out Amazon, where you can actually get to choose within a variety of options and also pick up a mouse if needed. I hope this helps :)
I bought Tab A10.1 for 120$ refurbished , It was in scratch less condition. Sadly if you connect pentablets(Huion hs64) to draw , the tab won't show any cursor, it is useless for pentablet users.
The only thing that prevents me from purchasing this tablet is its inability of downloading apps to external storage...which I am able to do with the a10.1.
Awesome Video. Just got it recently for 170€. There's one thing that bugs me however. The display doesn't really seem to be a strong point... Brightness is fine and colours are vibrant enough, however viewing angles aren't IPS worthy. It's especially bad if you watch darker content. Is there any option out there that provides better viewing experience for a similar price? Can't wait for the Vs S6 lite video

Im really concerned about the screen of a7 . You said it's on the cooler side and some other reviewer also pointed out the bluish hue on the panel . So watching movies or watching nf ,how does it affect the experience ? Also how's the color accuracy ??
I personally dont think it is a major deal on movie watching experience, especially if you are not directly comparing to another display, or if you dont mind cooler tints. I would say color accuracy is a tiny bit off, but thats just my take

Ive never owned a Tab S2 but based on the specs I would assume it can handle books. I personally would grab the A7 because it's a newer tablet optimized for many other things. Just my personal take tho

You actually convinced me to get the s6 lite but by the time I had the money it already ran out of stock, and when they restocked it was about 20% more expensive (third world inflation 😅) So I have the chance to buy the A7 for about 150usd here in Argentina but I have one doubt: is it only apps that I cannot move to the sd? Not sure, but can already tell you that out of the gate it does not support the S Pen. So there is a huge question of accuracy since you would need to get a capacitive pen for it. You might want to consider the Tab S6 Lite - or you can check out some of my Versus videos and see

Sorry but that was actually the S pen with another one of my tablets, the S6 lite No update on the lack of transfer to card I have another video for the official book cover. Check it out on my channel. Thats the only one i have so far, havent tried third party just yet
1 important point u missed is, A7 supports fast charging. Which is kind of a big thing for a 6K/7K mAh battery.

The camera sensor on a10.1 is capable to shoot 4k video but the memory is too slow to store the file.
Disable animations, and it will run smoothly .

Can i download files directly to sd card? And it is compatible with USB hub to download files on a hdd please? A7.
Im really concerned about the screen of a7 . You said it's on the cooler side and some other reviewer also pointed out the bluish hue on the panel . So watching movies or watching nf ,how does it affect the experience ? Also how's the color accuracy ??
I personally dont think it is a major deal on movie watching experience, especially if you are not directly comparing to another display, or if you dont mind cooler tints. I would say color accuracy is a tiny bit off, but thats just my take

I'll get tab 10.1 just because tab a7 screen has a bluish tint.
You can always use blue light filter. And a7 has better custom roms, so you can use a custom rom on it when it stops getting updates

i buy the a7 a couple of days ago for 200€ 3/32gb wifi.. i buy after your rewiew and you answer all my question down the videoos🤣, so thanks... i think for 200€ is not possible to buy a newer device better than this with gplay services and all hd certifications for streaming.. ps for 200€ this 4 speakers are a huge overkill

Ive never owned a Tab S2 but based on the specs I would assume it can handle books. I personally would grab the A7 because it's a newer tablet optimized for many other things. Just my personal take tho

Yes you can use the ps controller. That was what I was using in the video. You have to connect it via bluetooth

I have been trying to find Samsung galaxy tab A7 10.1. Cases EVERYWHERE and it's impossible- any recommendations?
I'm trying to decide which one to buy for my Son, 6 years old. Here in Sweden the A7 cost about 270$ and the A 10.1 is now on sale for 150$... Tough choice. But I'm leaning towards the A 10.1, feels like it's more bang for the buck?

Not sure, but can already tell you that out of the gate it does not support the S Pen. So there is a huge question of accuracy since you would need to get a capacitive pen for it. You might want to consider the Tab S6 Lite - or you can check out some of my Versus videos and see
