    FULL BUILD PLANS: etsy.me/3sHm1s2
    Whats up everyone? In this video i'm building a sanding workbench for my Ridgid EB4424 spindle/belt sander. I wanted to keep this build on the cheaper side, be customizable, provide adequate storage for my sanding and sharpening items, and to give my shop another usable work surface. I also put the sander on a slide out platform to keep the functionality of the tilting top function.
    I used 3/4" Radiada pine plywood for the cabinet carcasses and for the work top. I was actually impressed with how it looked especially after i applied my finish. The top has 6 chubbies, 2 of them are housed with drawers while the other 4 remain open for quick and easy tool storage when needing more useable work surface.
    It has 6 drawers in total made from 1/2" plywood. 4 lower drawers in one of the carcasses for keeping my sanding material and other consumable items, and 2 cubby drawers that are housed in the work top for larger items. these 2 drawers can be interchange with any of the 6 cubbies in the top to suit your needs.
    The finish i used is a homemade paste wax made from beeswax and mineral oil. It works great for shop furniture because its easily repaired/touched up, and helps prevent glue from sticking to it while doing glue ups.

      This! I’m so jealous of the space and how clean it is. I don’t even like looking at my space, let alone showing it on UA-cam to the world.

    Awesome build! Definitely gives me some ideas for the workbench I’m currently building. Love the idea for open cubbies to clear out the workspace.

    I just got this sander. Thanks for the cabinet ideas! I'm wanting to integrate it into a chop saw wall-length cabinet, and a sanding station for my orbitals using the Rockler downdraft panels.

    That looks awesome. I'm a new follower and newish to woodworking.. Im wanting to do the same style bench for my miter saw. Just wish the cost of plywood wasn't so expensive.

      Welcome to the channel, and thank you! The cost of plywood is brutal. I waited for the price to come down a little a few months ago then went and bought as many sheets as I could just to have on hand.

    Love the cubby feature! And you can move the drawers around!!?? I've GOT to incorporate that into my cutting/assembly/sanding/finishing table. (Small shop)

      It’s turned out to be a great feature. Thanks for watching. 👍🏻

    Has anyone ever noticed that the belt moves in the wrong direction? It moves from right to left, but if you're right handed, it would be easier to maneuver the stock with the belt moving from left to right. (all floor model edge sanders move from left to right) I didn't realize this until I bought it. It's a well functioning sander but it would be a huge improvement if the belt moved in the opposite direction.

      I guess I’ve never thought about it, but I’ve also never owned a floor standing model either.

    At 34.75” high, is using the sander comfortable? I love mine, but the top of the saber is around 48” or so which I find very comfortable. Great design, thanks for sharing

    • @brewbuilds
      @brewbuilds  11 місяців тому

      I feel like 34.5 to 35” is a very good working height for my height, especially for tasks that require good mechanical leverage. Now there are certain tasks that have exceptions. So when I built my assembly table I made the top height adjustable. Im pretty happy with that build and video. 🤘🏻 thanks for watching and taking the time to comment, I truly appreciate it. 👊🏻

      @@tundrasr5709 keep in mind with the cabinet carcass design you can easily make it shorter it fit your space, and it would save on material cost.👍🏻 thanks for watching, and taking the time to comment. 🤘🏻
