That was easily my favorite sin in the video to. I actually added it last since I had the idea for it when doing a final pass on my edit before finishing.
"We are only 5% into the game's story, we have 200 sins, and I feel like killing myself. I'm just gonna stop the video right here. I now have to go to therapy. *ding*"
I've seen a lot of people copying 'cinemasins' style youtube videos. More recently there have been a lot of 'videogamesins'. However, I must admit you are one of the only ones who does this well!
I like trip and monkey duo - the voice overs and interaction between the two were excellent, the game was also kind of underrated, too bad theres no sequel, only pigsy dlc.
Well there was a sequel planned for this game buy was cancelled due to low sales. Shame too, mostly because I thought this game had great VA work, Mo-Cap, and setting.
I bought this game just because it looked cool In store, it was 15 pounds, and I wish I payed full price because it would have been worth it... this game is so underrated, fucking incredible game
*Pigsy doesnt recognize her when she is turned back, and she doesnt recognize his voice because:* they hadnt seen each other in many, many years(maybe a decade). We discover this when Pigsy says "Trip, you grew up soo fast..."on the Boat scene
+TrueUnderDawgGaming Jk like whatever games you want :) I was pretty disappointed with this one though after everyone talked about how underrated it was. I think if the camera angle bs was fixed and the game didn't take itself so seriously with that ending and everything I would have enjoyed it a lot more, even if every level was just Trip pulling out a dragonfly mech to scan for enemies haha
+OhShootKid I have to agree with the camera angle issue. In chapters 2 and 3, that was what gave me vertigo, because the damn angle was always changing. Considering that I paid less than $5 for this, I wasn't too disappointed.
I finished it recently and i believe it doesn't deserve a huge praise. It's just alright to me,the story is insanely short, the gameplay is linear and overly simple with a basic combat system. The hero is far from being an human, that guy is an alien or some shit but he's WAY too strong. A lot of inconsistencies, and of course, the game trying to make you "like" Trip even though she basically used you for her own crap makes me laugh. And of course your char is a puppet to her because she's cute anw. A lot of things are unexplained in the story and i feel like this game could be "good" if there were other games to explain what happened etc... But no,you're just here in a 6hours story game. I don't HATE it,but i played it once and said "well ..ok" and that's it
After all lthose years i still dont get how on earth they thought the ending was "ok" if anything it was a "holy shit we run out of money lets wrap this up quickly."
I was sinning for the fact that Andy Serkis isn't in more games. That sin was kind of like a pox on all of your houses for this injustice if that makes any sense.
11:02 they weren't pointing out the boss arena. Piggsy is leading Monkey in to a trap and Monkey has figured it out, or at least senses suspicion that the core they need is sitting in the open that Piggsy hadn't gotten already.
The most messed up thing about this game, is the hole "slave" point, it keeps contradicts itself, first they take slaves, then they kill people, then the "leader" says "they aren't slaves, they free people/citizens" and the mechs call them slaves and won't hesitate executing them".
@@MrTHEMONEEMAKER If it was like this they should had explained. The weirdest thing to me is the existance of Automatic Turrets, yeah you will sure "rescue" a lot of people with them.
I grew up reading the original novel of journey to the west. So when this game first came out, I went in looking for references to the novel. I finished the game empty handed.
So holographic computer interfaces or the colors on a screen are a problem for you. But plasma weapons, weapons with infinite ammo, mechs, voice activated brain manipulation headbands, flying ships without real wings or flying skateboards made out of energy seem totally realistic to you.
Three Things: 1) This game is an excellent Post-Apocalyptic-Set game. 2) I can't be the only one who thinks that Monkey's hair is straight-up SSJ Goku. And 3) Monkey's V/A sounds EXACTLY like Tom from [Adult Swim]'s Toonami.
A great (if slightly flawed in certain areas) game. Deserves to mentioned in the same breath as the Uncharteds and The Last of Us as far as I'm concerned.
you complain that she talks directly in his mind and why does she whisper when its not necessary but then you complain how do they talk on the motorcycle? is that just for the sake of complaining? and at the start when the ship "welcomes: them with the speech maybe they were just decryogenated(or whatever's the word). and the locks to their cells may be magnetic..
I have just recently discovered your channel Dartigan and I must say i'm glad I did. I find your videos well structured and to the point and you seem to handle fan backlash in a mature manner. I was wondering though, have you ever considered sinning any of the Souls game (Dark Souls, Demon's Souls)? As a huge fan of the series I would be interested in seeing a more critical analysis of them. Plus from what I've seen a large proportion of the Souls fanbase can be downright zealous towards any criticism valid or not and I would have grotesque interest in their reaction. Either way that is just my own suggestion, I enjoy your work and hope you create more of it.
Thanks for subbing Viper. And don't take my vids too seriously. For the most part I enjoy all the games I do episodes on. Even if you like a game you can still poke fun and the dumb or lazy parts of it.
My pleasure. Yeah, I'm a huge fan of Cinema Sins, so I know the drill. I have to say, out of all the other "game/gaming sins" channels I've seen, yours is the best; you make a lot of valid points without coming across as too obnoxious. Keep it up! I don't know if you take requests, but I would love to see an "Everything Wrong With Max Payne 3".
Max Payne 3 is on my list to do at some point so I would say expect it. At the end of every episode of Game Sins I put two game up for vote for which people want to see next. Be sure to vote in future episodes. And thanks again for all of your kind words Viper.
I JUST beat this game a few hours ago. Had to play it to come back to this video. I thought it was alright, but I agreed with every sin you gave. Except for the one about Andy Serkis being an amazing actor. He's okay, I suppose. Also, I felt the same way when Monkey shut off Trip's dad's message. HOW WAS THAT THE END?!?! But if I had to add another sin, it would be...why did they zoom in on Pigsy's boob to explain how he got his name? It just seemed odd...
Anyone else found this game mediocre? I found Trip annoying and Monkey corny. Pigsy was kinda funny tho. Combat was sick, clunky at times but fun. The grass levels were designed nicely but the other levels became a chore to look at.
Thanks. When playing through a game it's actually hard to spot the mistakes unless they are major. It's only when I watch through my footage do I start spotting the sin usually.
So Tripp is the monk that finds and releases Sun Wukong, and Monkey is Sun Wukong and a slave. This means the person who imprisoned him in the first place, Buddha, is either a slave master or a slave trader. I find that thought very sad and hilarious at the same time.
Unless those fish are warm water or tropically fish, then yes the closed system with the fish could survive, cold water fish can survive winter, even in NY.

Pig is basically Oolong, which in dragonball is also one of the first characters they meet. and that the main character is called monkey is a reference that doesn't even need pointing out...
25th sin was actually my dealbreaker with this game. Droped it right after this bullshit, I really hate when creators of the title pull that kind of "motivation".
3:13 Trip's feet don't touch that block. Her entire weight is resting on the edge of the block, on her shins, if not the tendons on the front of her feet. That HURTS.
he says the the holding cells are pointless but those people were captured and just didnt get headbands yet. the handbands kill you if you dont follow orders or something. therefore they keep those they just captured in cells then give them headbands lmaoo
The only sin I can defend would be the motorcycle scene, that is because I feel the conversation happened before that scene. Either way I think I would rather a scene where the conversation is actually played out.
Great video, man. Add a vote for Beyond: Two Souls as well. And if you're taking suggestions for future vids, I suggest Dead Rising 3, Far Cry 4, or The Walking Dead Season 2...all winners of my Arkham City Memorial Award for being the greatest games with the most asinine plots, writing, & characters.
Haven't played the DR3 nor FC4, but I agree with TWDS2. The plots for the episodes were OK at best, the characters were either: a Ben/Duck clone (Sarah and Nick [though to be fair for Nick, at least he's somewhat developed and has only made 1 or 2 major mistakes, unlike Ben]), unlikable from the start (Bonnie), or were great, but then made a asinine decision (Mike and Jane), and the writing compared to the first game is atrocious.
Speaking of Dragonball Comparisons... Our main character is named Monkey, and he has a monkey tail. He meets a hot girl who takes him on an adventure. And the two of them come across a pig man. Monkey = Goku. Trip = Bulma. Pigsy = Oorlong! Coincidence, I think NOT!
So you nitpick because she whispers even though they can telepathically communicate but then you also nitpick because they aren't yelling on a motorcycle? Did you forget about the point you brought up 2 minutes earlier or something?
Funny thing is it wasn't until I played this game did I look at the original Journey to the West story and find out that THAT story inspired this and Dragon Ball. And frankly I actually like this game. But I really wish it was more fleshed out and the ending was done a bit better.
Referring to Dragon ball, only thing copied from Journey to West was Goku, maybe little pig the meet later, Bulma wasn't Sanzo, this girl enslaved Monkey clearly she is Sanzo, Pig guy is Pig.
Dragonball's more of martial arts fantasy. We never knew about the space aliens until the Saiyan Saga, and even then the story was more about punching things than science. And then it went back to more punching magical things after the Cell Saga. I guess the addition of the Red Ribbon Army in the first few arcs SOMEWHAT counts for sci-fi, but not much. Not sure how much the Toriyama thing's gonna hold up, because most people don't really see JttW in Dragonball.
First off, Nice vid. can't wait for Drakengard 3 and FF13 part 2 :) Now, Toriyama doesn't own Journey to the west. Do you not see how many movies and series the world made?(mostly China for Obvious reasons) Even Jackie Chan was in one. At most Toriyama used many of it's characters as reference some of his own character design. But he did not use the story. That's purely his own work. The Goku/wukong in the original was a jerk. NOTHING like the pure hearted Goku in DB. And they do make the priest a girl sometimes... so... yeah. If you want an anime that's closer to the original Chinese story, then that would be Genzomaden Sayuki, monkey typhoon, and the monkey king. Did research on Rome myths and legends but not in Chinese. That's a sin on you.
This is the game that made me start hating Ninja Theory as a developer. It made me realize how their games are incredibly overhyped, but end up being mediocre, melodramatic pieces of garbage.
Decent game overall, a tad too easy but I wouldn't mind a sequel. Also, while Andy Serkis' voice acting is good overall, it's kinda weird. It fluctuates a lot, sometimes he sounds like himself, other times it sounds like he has a Brooklyn accent, and once in awhile he sounds like Steve Blum.
Dartigan Nice video I like this type of stuff. But just a little nitpick. Around 5 minutes mark. Regarding the Aquarium. They described it as a closed system. But it has the sunlight coming into it. That is not what a closed system is. A closed system has no external energy source. So unless the sun is in the aquarium that should be counted as a sin.
I voting for Drakengard 3 because I've seen a sin video of Beyond Two Souls already. Doesn't mean I don't wanna see another one of the same game. But yeah, Drakengard.
Watching it and many others make me think about writing process of episodes. Does the author even know what games are about, are sins noted after gameplay or while playing, cos like 80% of sins can be redeemed if you know the ending and put minimal effort in analysing the world in the reviewed games. Anyway, underrated game, great video, I felt funnily triggered ;P
Is Andy Serkis really a better voice actor than either Nolan North or Troy Baker? Those guys are in absolutely everything, so I can see how you could be sick of them, but they are really good at their jobs.
"You've incurred the wrath of the irony gods for making that statement." *CRASH!* "See, you deserve that." ROFL!!! I love this guy!
That was easily my favorite sin in the video to. I actually added it last since I had the idea for it when doing a final pass on my edit before finishing.

Agreed, his voice is cool

im perfectly fine with that^^

I voting for Drakengard 3 because I've seen a sin video of Beyond Two Souls already. Doesn't mean I don't wanna see another one of the same game. But yeah, Drakengard.
Oh well. Still one of my favorite games. Even with the flaws. Lol
turret neck braking was cool enough.. not a sin.. just awesome
The studio that made this game did a better job in the Graphics Department With the Unreal engine 3 than Epic did themselves With their own engine.
Is there a reason Trip has an uncanny resemblance to Nariko from Heavenly Sword?
Well both games were developed by Ninja Theory
Watching it and many others make me think about writing process of episodes. Does the author even know what games are about, are sins noted after gameplay or while playing, cos like 80% of sins can be redeemed if you know the ending and put minimal effort in analysing the world in the reviewed games. Anyway, underrated game, great video, I felt funnily triggered ;P
don't have the game. now, must have the game.
ohh machines do evolve thats what Hawkings fears
Is Andy Serkis really a better voice actor than either Nolan North or Troy Baker? Those guys are in absolutely everything, so I can see how you could be sick of them, but they are really good at their jobs.
He is yes.
Beyond Two fucking Souls, please. Bash away at David Cage's Ellen Page Rage Gauge
anyone else noticed that pigsy voice actor went on play daddy pig on peppa pig
Do you ever account for the "suspend your disbelief" factor?
