You may not have air getting trapped in the pump block, but with the hoses like that you will start to see air pockets developing at the top of the radiator where the hoses connect. So, you'll eventually start to see reduced flow to and from the pump block because it'll start to starve the lines. Having the radiator flipped with the hose connections on the bottom will eliminate that. And, since the pump block is mounted lower than the top of the radiator, air won't get trapped in the pump block.

@@danielboyas7645 he called out the issue of eventual "bubbling" noises that occur in this orientation over time. Not trying to start some argument, just thought I'd call out something another creator actively investigated. Performance will probably be fine but ideal positioning is still tubes down for pump life longevity and noise reduction. See GN video on the topic from 18:00 - 19:46 timestamp
The radiator should be mounted tubes down, so that the air gets trapped on top of the radiator and doesn't affect the water flow. If tubes down doesn't fit, the second best option is to mount it on top of the case as exaust. This has been proved by gamers nexus.
You don't like your friend much, do you? Pairing 13600k with a DDR4 RAM is what I call blasphemy. Yeah, it supports it, but why would anyone want to lose the performance? Especially in a $2000 PC. Instead of getting an AIO cooler you (or your friend) could have gone for a cheaper air cooler (Thermalright or Deepcool, heck, even NH-D15) and put the money saved towards DDR5. Then you go and mount the radiator at the front. So if those 2 extra fans on top are exhaust fans you created a completely negative pressure PC. Why? So your friend can have as much dust inside as possible? If they are intake fans the air being pulled in is going to get pulled out immediately by the rear exhaust fan and the front radiator fans. So no cool air for the graphics card. It will bake in its own sweat, so to speak. Instead of having 3 front fans pulling in cool air and the rear exhaust fan plus the radiator fans at the top pushing out the hot air you have created a negative pressure monster. Why? Why would anyone do that? This PC has nowhere near the performance it should have for 2 grand. The cooling is... there is actually no cooling. Yup, you must not like your friend at all.
@mr.pineapplez9077then you did the right thing and I salute you. Now you can enjoy performance that the friend of the person in this video can only dream about.
@@LazMann77 hey mate, you get DDR4 if you are on a budget (as in building a PC as cheap as possible). If you're building a PC for 2 grand you can afford DDR5. I spent 1200 on my 3090ti and 5600x build

Your presentation, graphics and shot composition and lighting is the best I've seen on youtube, bar none.
Hey Optimum Tech ma, what do you use for clocks/temps OSD monitoring ? Looks quite nice, my Afterburner/RTSS OSD looks like crap...
agreed, would be good to know
same
Fantastic build
Wha would be a suitable monitor/screen that not only is compatible but also complements the PC build...
Any 1440p monitor between 144hz and 240hz with Nvidia G-sync will do.
Young daddy with another banger build
I would have put the radiator top mounted as an exhaust with front panel fans as intake for cool air, the way you mounted it the cool air passes through the cpu radiator heating up the whole case
Just casually has $200 USD worth of fans just laying around lol great video as always Optimum! 👍
How’s his cpu
this channel’s editing and production, really is the definition of less is more
Where is the list of 240mm cooler alternatives?
Good build, good video! Thanks for the content!
Wait, it seems like the mother board isn't compatible with 13th gen?
than how did he install it. i think it is compatible
I just upgraded from a 1070 to a 7900 XT. Im sure your friend is stoked on the 4070 ti!
I'm so mad for how much I paid for my 3080 not that long ago.
cope
@@prozekutor You better start getting ready for school, you don't want to be late.
Just buy used when looking for previous gen stuff. Sure it’s not going to last as long but if you’re buying 80/90 cards you probably aren’t going to keep it that long anyway. I payed 400 dollars for mine used 3080, and I intend to sell it within two years which would probably mean getting half of that back.
Purchased during the mining craze?
@@ij6708 yep
Quit down talking the 4070 😂 I’m literally going to build the same setup. Awesome channel, governor.
9:46 dude 4070ti is great
It's questionable especially at MSRP
@@krakentortoise7531 is it ? I don't think so, you get better performance than 3080 i mean, if you can get it for 800 bucks as he said
Nice high-quality build! Great video production too! Just subbed!

clean production. clean editing. clean build. good at gaming. nice
I'm soooooooo confused. That GPU and CPU by themselves are $2000 on the amazon links and the total is $3,662.20 AUD ($2558 USD) if you add every item linked in the description? Perhaps you mean $2000 GBP?
cpu is 280 and gpu is 830 on newegg
@@nostrum6410 not sure where you live but if you swim in the ocean for long enough you'll eventually get to another land mass and they'll usually deal in other forms of currency.
$3282 Dollaroos, prices ripped directly from Mwave minus shipping. That's with the cheapest 4070Ti (PNY).
@@FourthLastok smart azz how much would a good snorkel an flipper set cost for swimming to these other "land masses"????
Cleannnn build. Your cable management is appreciated.
So shouldn't tubes be other way (at the bottom) for front mount if we wanna minimize air bubbles being recirculated? Didn't Gamers Nexus do an entire video piece on this to put it to rest?
And if you watched it he said that as long as the pump is not the highest point it will work fine.
I love OT for gaming tech and hardware and Mrwhosetheboss for tech in general
The radiator should be mounted tubes down, so that the air gets trapped on top of the radiator and doesn't affect the water flow. If tubes down doesn't fit, the second best option is to mount it on top of the case as exaust. This has been proved by gamers nexus.
No it hasn’t this has been debunked for so long, it’s completely fine in that orientation
I actually came for the hands.
Now you can enjoy performance that the friend of the person in this video can only dream about.
so before i buy it today, should i switch to ddr5 and where should i place the radiator?
@mzprx76
@@LazMann77 hey mate, you get DDR4 if you are on a budget (as in building a PC as cheap as possible). If you're building a PC for 2 grand you can afford DDR5. And you get the performance you should have for that amount of money. Put the radiator on the top, make the front fans intake fans and you'll have a perfect gaming rig. Hope this helps.
@@mzprx76 tysm, i need some more help tho, so for the ddr5 i will need a MSI MGP z790 tomahawk other than the ram am wondering will the other stuff in this video fit in the z790 like the ssd,and the gpu, for the case i searched and i know it fits but for the other stuff i dont know, if you do please reply am in need of it quick becouse i dont have much time i need to build the pc quicky.
