  • This bowl was made with padauk, black walnut, Mahoganey and maple hard woods. The process began with cutting the wood into different widths and lengths based on the needs of the project. The strips were then cut into segments. Rings of different segments were then made and ran through a drum sander. Following this the rings were glued together in the appropriate formation making the bowl. Then the fun begins with turning the bowl on the lathe.
This bowl and many others can be seen and purchased on my Etsy Shop.

I feel your pain, I done some bowl modifications myself. But you did end up with a nice looking bowl, well done.

Thank you for watching and subscribing. More to come. I try and get 1 to 2 videos out a week.

Well done Jeff. I’ve decided that mahogany is just too soft for a tenon. You probably made the best decision to use the wood worm screw. Pretty bowl.

Thank you and you are right about mahogany, but it is a pretty wood to use in segmenting. Take care and Merry Christmas!

I notice you use Thompson tools, I like them also. You do a great job on your videos. Where or how do you come up with your designs, that’s my biggest challenge.
