I bought a sample of Pas Ce Soir Extrait. Good lord...that fragrance keeps getting stronger by the minute. Amazing fixative. I love how it smells, but it's too much of a good thing, ha-ha.😅

I too really enjoy most of what BDK has, but also thought this was a bit thin. I love smoky fragrances, but this needs a touch more density...for me anyway. Great review...keep em coming!

I wasn't keen on this fragrance to start, but I bought the sample set and of the three, I found this one empty long before the other two. I ended up getting a bottle of it. It's a slow addiction. At first I was put off by the memory of Big Red cinnamon gum. But after a few wears it started hitting differently. Now it's one of my favorite perfumes for mildly chilly days. I have been watching many perfume reviewers and Aaron is the best and most importantly honest which matter to me more than any thing else. What I like about this channel is he’s not getting paid for these reviews which is best. We get an honest opinion of a real perfumer . You are the best although sometime I believe we are left to decide for if we would want to try a perfume but he can spot value for money, performance , natural ingredients etc which is best . Other guys would tell oh this perfume go buy it’s flying and by the time you go the website price hikers already jacked it up so don’t buy because of those UA-camrs . Thank you Aaron .

Love your reviews! By the way the translation of 'Rouge smoking' in English is 'Red Tuxedo', I don't think it refers to smoke or smokiness.
As an "old fashioned "man I never thought I could be interested in Perfumes/scents but I saw your take on Montblanc Explorer and Encre Noir my two go to scents and I am now hooked. You say you find it strange that people pick up on different elements of the same scent, the analogy would be music as to some people one tune is sublime and to others it is just noise.😁 Wishing you and yours a happy xmas, Maestro😎

I seem to be sensitive to certain woody chemicals. In Xerjoff's Erba Pura after a few minutes I simply can't smell anything other than a sharp woody smell. I got it on a textile watch band and it took weeks and multiple washes before it stopped driving me crazy.

I do love watching your reviews and I think you should pin this one to the top. Possibly consider editing it as an intro to you and how you think and create perfumes because I found it fascinating. I had suspected your non-verbal communication style as some kind of Mental mapping and you explained it exactly as I interpret it. Well done and I’m really hope for one day I can find the opportunity to sample all of your actual perfumes.
This perfume has a nostalgia to it that seems very North American, it's like the most old fashioned, gourmet, hand made batch of a root beer, cola, or maybe even sarsaparilla. The kind of drink that would cost you $12 today in a small hipster-y burger place. Probably ridiculously specific, but the small sample size of brits (2 on youtube, 1 in real life) that I have seen react to it just didn't make that connection, whereas Americans almost always say "root beer".
I love this one because of the root beer vibe, but also I love cherry and smoky fragrances, yet smoky seems to go very, very, very smoky on my skin and Rouge Smoking is one of the few that keeps to "slightly" smoky instead of turning me into a campfire.
Thank you for your reviews! They have helped me understand fragrances a little bit more and have been invaluable in understanding my own taste and the vibe I would like to project.
The Limbic System is indeed fascinating. Like Orange Blossom oil over dry Papyrus in a bookstore, the brain stores emotions along with the environment in which it manifested, connecting the scent to a memory when the mood is right.

Learnt to like your review because when i want to blind by a fragrance i watch the review from you, never exited because of makers and also when said is good is good and also to know is a beast intense i look at your face it turn red that's how i know is good stuff.
ATH is an artist, truth be told I always wanted an amazing cherry fragrance but everything I tried was too fem or didn't last long enough. Raw Cherry was exactly what I was looking for with giving me the cherry vibe with a rugged backbone that lasted for days.

I've got deviant, It's the only leather fragrance I like, I find the leather in it quite mild.
I think you need to try Terroni by Orto Parisi. Smokey and sweet fragrance that doesn’t get talked about as much as it should.
after having gris charnel edp and extrait, I had to try rouge smoking, I ended up loving it as well, gret perfumery house !
The smiking of the name refers to the frac, or YSL tuexido! That is tge inspirantion, together with a "Pigalle's daughter", Pigalle being the district of red lights and burlesque in France

I do love Rouge Smoking but I wish it had more punch too. I hope one day they might produce an extract version like they did with Pas Ce Soir and Gris Charnel.
They are, I contacted the brand and they told me. Rouge Smoking extrait is coming in Autumn 2024.

I'm having a hard time making masculine scents...especially darker scents. I have to buy a masculine formula so I can wrap my nose and mind around it.
I get a cozy Vanilla Coke but still perfume, slightly powdery on the dry down. I don’t get the cherry on my skin

have tried this a couple times and it just seems to just disappear on my skin almost immediately, gave it two good sprays on my forearm and even my friend standing next to me could hardly smell it after a few minutes. I think if this would come out as an extrait and had a deeper cherry note it would be more interesting

Aaron, you mentioned autism. Do you happen to be autistic? People on the spectrum like myself tend to have something that they're extremely passionate about and pour their entire being into. It's not necessary to be great at something, but it would explain how you're such a master in perfumery. Just curious is all.
