For the life of me, I can't justify the price. From the presentation (which I would love glass) to the scent.. your Raw Cherry has so much more depth, and I wouldn't compare it to any of the Tom Ford's. I have no problem paying hundreds upon hundreds for a fragrance if gives me an emotional response, something I love, high quality in both ingredients and scent. Then it's absolutely worth it. As much as I respect what Tom Ford has done in past years for fragrances, the prices now are just outrageous.
I swear, we know within 60 seconds what Aaron's real thoughts are. I just wish someone would make a compilation of every eyeroll and each subtle sigh of Aaron's. I would watch that non-stop. 🤣🥰 And no, I will never buy anything by TF. As much as I love and lust after him, There is no way his scents are worth that much $$$. I will try a dupe instead if I can't contain my curiosity.
Agreed, Lost Cherry is nothing like Raw Cherry and doesn’t hold a candle to it either. Lost Cherry is more of a concentrated cherry syrup (not cough syrup) whereas Raw Cherry is like an actual cherry.
I have Tom Ford Tobacco oud and adore the fragrance. But for the price I wish the cap wasn't plastic. My favorite Cherry fragrance is guerlain l'homme ideal intense
I’m happy with the Tom Ford price hikes. Works really well for me as a deterrent and motivator to stay away from the obvious money grab. Also, tried at least two of these Cherry ones and wasn’t impressed. Aaron, try Chanel 1957. My fav, would love to hear your thoughts.
Same here. I really lost the opening of Lost Cherry with the booziness and cherry blast but this only lasts ~30 minutes and dries down to almonds and vanilla for me. Quite underwhelming for the price tag.
My preferences in order are exactly yours. I actually got Cherry Smoke shortly after release as a gift (preference usually feminine) after I tried Cherry Smoke several times and found it to be not too gourmand like LC and also sexy for date nights.
Aaron, I like your Raw Cherry the Best because of the Oud… Its a manly cherry fragrance but I spray my Lost Cherry ontop of your Raw Cherry so it smells more cherry for an hour & after the hour once in a while I get a whiff of the lost cherry with the Oud, I love it… I have Cherry Smoke & still like your Raw Cherry better because its Manly !!! You have to check out Cherry Oud by Guerlain…This is similar to your Raw Cherry !!! I rank my Cherry fragrances like this… Raw Cherry Cherry Oud-Guerlain Cherry Smoke Lost Cherry I love the Cherry scent in lost cherry the best but its too girlie, so most of the time I use Raw Cherry & Cherry Oud with a couple sprays of lost cherry ontop !!!
I own both TF Lost Cherry and ATH Raw Cherry and love both. I really wish Raw Cherry had that boozy accord of Lost Cherry. If we can get an elixer of Raw Cherry with the boozy accord that would be 🔥.
I just don’t get the price, it’s absolutely ridiculous to me. Tom Fors fragrances are solid, but not worth the insane price tag. Not all all…either way, I love the way you break down these fragrances, so fascinating and informative! Thank you for all of these videos! (Still have my fingers crossed that you review Althaïr by PDM!)
The point of the price is that they want to position as a premium brand. Its like complaining that Louis Vuitton or Goyard charges tens of thousands for some handbags - thats the point, they don’t want every pleb using their products & price creates ‘exclusivity’
Aaron, do you have a plum fragrance? Existing in that Plum Japonais universe? I feel there is a huge void to be filled now that we don't have PJ available.
I think every frag has the ‘brand charge’. Tom Ford always had a larger charge because of what their scents are. Now they just keep raising the price and youre paying massive amounts for what you get.
Personally I prefer Cherry Smoke. From the other hand my favorite TM fragrance is Ebene Fume. Are there any similar fragrances like Ebene Fume from high quality perfumers?
The cost of Tom Ford has kept me from being a customer. I will say I have purchased LV frags for 300 USD but I can't justify spending the money for TF because of the decline in performance over the years. Sad
@@nathanthomas5133 hm, not sure about your experience but if yours is negative so be it. I love TF but Tuscan Leather is the only one I love which actually lasts. Oud Wood I get maybe 2-3 hours max. Is what it is. I wear Nouveau Monde and it lasts 12 hours easily with great projection
Regarding price, it's almost always hard for me to justify products from "luxury brands," and Tom Ford (in perfume or in fabric) is no exception. Luxury brands deal in what economists call "Veblen goods" - things that exist primarily as evidence that their buyers can afford them, which gives the buyers status among a peer group. Luxury brands generate wonderful margins for their owners - the founder and CEO of LVMH is currently the second richest person in the world. The quality of materials, workmanship, or creative exertion from a luxury brand tends to be decent but is incidental to the value proposition. Quality tends to be outpaced by price in luxury brands. And in clothing, goods are often constructed to make the brand obvious, which I find distasteful. For me personally, I am not motivated to be seen as wealthy to peers; I guess my own status-seeking itch is to be seen as knowledgeable and sophisticated. As a person who makes stuff himself, I get a lot of private joy out of quality and craft. So my consumption across all goods tends to skew obscure and artisanal, even as it skews expensive. I got interested in fragrances this summer and currently have a few Tom Ford decants queued up among others as I try and settle on a fall/winter fragrance. Incidentally, I ordered those decants to unseat another luxury brand offering, Clive Christian C Woody Leather, which I think is lovely but way too expensive for what it is. If one of the TFs is my favorite, I'll get it - but it will have to justify its price, which is a high hurdle among the cheaper and well-made niche competitors in my decant haul. Love your reviews, Aaron.
I loved the tom ford brand but now they release too many fragrances every year and are diluting their private blend collection and releasing in their regular line. Tobacco vanille was my favourite niche fragrance ever and grey vetiver my favourite designer. But theyre weaker now and more expensive. In ways I'm glad they didn't release a bleu de Chanel, dior sauvage or creed aventus type fragrance to be mass appealing
Fresh outta oven! Also I mean.. Even if I love perfumes, 280 quid is just absolutely too much for 50ml. Awful worth for money and I'd expect the bottle to be also a work of art for that price. If Lalique can do awesome, chunky hefty glass bottles(I know they're a glass company) for 30£ bottle, tom ford should be unbelievable.
I personally struggle with the expense. I feel there are as good and better for way way way less. There are a couple of gems and classice but still......
Aaron, don’t think worth the money in therms of fragrance itself. Just imagine someone buying for status. Here in Brazil we have an Indy fragrance house called “Conde Parfum”, and he made a BEAUTIFUL cherry fragrance (boise rouge) and worth every penny.
Before Watching, here's my take: Lost Cherry and Cherry Smoke are fine (nothing special and in no way justify the pricetag). Electric Cherry smells like something that would come out as a cheap celebrity fragrance for teenage girls.
Doesn't look like I'm going to open the Lost Cherry I bought a few years ago. Recently tested it again and what's whipping through the base isn't worth my while. Packaging and juice aren't equal to the price nowadays.
Cherry Smoke is my favorite then Lost Cherry. I hate Electric Cherry! Packaging doesn’t bother me. Because I love Cherry Smoke & Lost Cherry I will pay the price. Cherry Smoke lasts at least 8 hours on me. Tom Ford was definitely more intense years ago!
Can someone explain what the unicorn on his shirt means? I live in NY and I see many people with unicorns out here. I don’t understand why. Someone please explain.
The price is ridiculously too high for what you actually get. I don’t buy fragrances for the bottles, however the TF bottles in this line/size are extremely cheap and the atomizers stink. TF still has a few gems but the prices have gotten a tad out of hand.
The prices are terrible. When there are some amazing works of art in the perfume world, with far more interesting materials, selling a higher quantity of juice for a lower price, and in better bottles, it makes all of these new private line fragrances redundant. Also the brand seems to have the worst sales people. The whole brand feels overly pretentious when they aren't even close to being the best. I could walk into Henry Jacques on the 6th floor of Harrods and get probably 20 quids worth of expensive oils put on my hands in the span of 10 seconds, yet anywhere that stocks Tom Ford you have to wrestle just to get them to give you a couple of tester strips to try stuff out. About the only thing that would bring me back to their brand would be them re-releasing Tobacco Oud Intense. About the only scent that feels worthy of that price tag. But I'd still be disappointed with the bottle. All that money and they can't even get a glass lid to match the bottle, and don't even bother to do QC properly to make sure their labels are straight or printed nicely. I sold my bottle of Tobacco Oud because it looked cheap because the label was wonky, had an air bubble, and the printing of the label was really poor. The lid was also loose and would easily fall off. Even the Maison Alhambra knock off bottles are better! As for the cherry fragrances, I genuinely like Lost Cherry. I also like Cherry Smoke, they are just not worthy of the price they are asking. I do like Raw Cherry, but personally my favourite cherry fragrance is Cherry Amaretto from Strangers Parfumerie. It's lovely. It is synthetic smelling but actually I want that with a cherry fragrance. Lost Cherry to me smells like Dr Pepper and SP Cherry Amaretto smells like Cherry 7up, and that's appealing to me.
I swear Aaron, lost cherry lasts 3 hours on my skin, i cant smell nothing after 3 hours. Cherry smoke is great, i love the sour olive water smells in it. Electric cherry is a rubbish, absolute rubbish
Ha. TF Lost Cherry smells like a Dollar Tree fragrance compared to Raw Cherry. I actually like it, but Lost Cherry is weak to me and on me. It's definitely overpriced.
If we’re being completely honest, these are ALL overpriced rubbish. This is coming from a huge Tom Ford fan and customer. I don’t know how much he’s involved in the day to day management and the overall direction of his TF Beauty business but it has completely lost its way.
Sadly company that owns Tom Ford cosmetics is just another capitalist company where profit is the only goal, they destroy the quality of products. Here in Serbia, on grey market you can get Amouage fragrances for around 150€ 100ml, PDM around 160€ 125ml and Tom Ford private blands are 165€+ for 50ml
Cherry Smoke is a masterpiece!
GREAT scent.
Apart from sharing a cherry note, lost cherry and raw cherry are VERY different
I LOVE Cherry Fragrances! The "winner" is undoubtedly Raw Cherry from ATH. Thank you Aaron for your resilience creating so many masterpieces ❤

💯%
"And I think you need your nose tested"...that was timed beautifully 😂
One forgotten TF fragrance is Fleur de Portofino, even tho it's a unissex leaning feminine fragrance, i absolutely love it and wear it, 100% recommend
If I wanted a cherry fragrance I'd buy L'homme Ideal,Mancera Tonka Cola or Montale Infinity. Right now those three are the best on the market.
I swear, we know within 60 seconds what Aaron's real thoughts are. I just wish someone would make a compilation of every eyeroll and each subtle sigh of Aaron's. As always excellent and informative. I would love it if you did a review of some Bortnikoff perfumes.
Hey Aaron you got to review pdm althaïr. I fucking love it and longevity is so dam good. They hit a homerun again
Cherry smoke is the best think i have ever smelled.

i love the maison alhambra dupes of TF private line 😊😌😏
I feel like Kayalis cherry perfume is close enough to lost Cherry. I have lost cherry but I’d recommend to others to just buy the Kayali one.
I agree, I love cherry smoke... BUT it does not project and last long. Love it but it's hard to justify the $395USD price tag!!!!!
Raw Cherry >
If i was getting into niche stuff i would only buy your fragrances Aaron
i love how i have to order from the US even though im in the UK...

Well the current Tobacco Vanille is easily the strongest fragrance Ive tried, and Ive tried most "beast mode" frags on the market today
Received my raw cherry, daddy, addicted and Aura today……. Raw cherry is better than any of these cherry fragrances

The maximum amount of cherry I can handle wearing is in Guerlain L'Homme Ideal EDP.
I wish I could try your fragrances. (US)
I LURVE Tom Ford but they do not last 😩

Is that the 3 refugees chant Aaron ?? Also what was the first one in frag-mental’s recent video out of the 2 he wasn’t allowed to mention the name ?
Too expensive! Your right
Tom Ford isn’t quite there anymore
For me TF is not was it was since he sold the company, it's a real shame as they were exquisite
Not crazy about TF whatsoever. I own several Xerjoffs, my fave is Pikovaya Dama but I am Russian.
People are lost on the nostalgia on how good TF used too be…
I agree, resting on his laurels instead of inventing, testing and opinion gathering like a Perfumer we all know 🦄🦄
Completely agree. Very sad.
He doesn’t even own the house anymore. Sold his entire brand to Estée Lauder around twelve months ago.

Price is insane, plus I don't even like cherry accords, so... a pass from me.
tom ford makes some amazing scents, but when you pump out 10,000 scents 90% of them are gunna be duds 😂
