    As a newer hobbyist and FP/BMPCC OG owner your channel gives me a lot of inspiration. I'm always on the lookout for your newest posts. Aside from you and Anson, there aren't too many other people on UA-cam currently talking about the FP. I love your film style and approach to providing information. Personally, I'm really hoping to see more content from your perspective going into using the Sigma FP. Fingers crossed. Also, your step by step lighting and scene creation tutorials have been a revelation for my learning. It helps that you just talk to the camera and don't carry that whole "UA-camr" vibe that's become so cookie cutter. Thanks for all your efforts and hard work creating these videos. Looking forward to the next one.

      Can’t thank you enough for watching the channel. That feedback is great to hear. I’m familiar with Anson and you are correct, his work is tremendous. Dude has tons of information on the Sigma FP.
      I bounce back and forth between the FP and the BMPCC 6K Pro. I love using them both and will continue to share my learnings not only with the camera, but with filmmaking in general. Thanks for the encouraging words my friend!!!

      Dylan Coleman is also a great fp resource - team Sigma here to stay ✌️

    My voice shall join with you in the praises of the Sigma FP. I liked it so much I bought a 2nd used one as a backup/multicam. You do great work which is a tribute to your relationship with your cam. BTW, today my filmmaking group will be shooting our first project. I made it simple (one scene, 2 actors), because we all are noobs and I figure it's best to start small. I will make a group UA-cam account and let you know when it posts. Rock on! 👍🎬

      That is a great move! Keeping it small is a good way to focus on the details and make it right. Can’t wait to see it…please share once it’s ready!!!

    You can shoot BRAW with Sigma FP. You just have to have the Video Assist with external recording capability. You also can choose the BRAW compression.

    • @CrossCultureStudios
      @CrossCultureStudios  2 місяці тому +1

      You certainly can which is pretty cool! I found that out a while back after posting this video.
      Having the freedom to shoot BRAW is just another reason why I love using this camera. Thanks for watching and commenting!

    Great testimonial. Thanks so much for sharing! I too use the Sigma fp with Canon FDs. Your use of the Neutral color setting to grade from as opposed to the color Off setting is interesting. I’ll check that out.

    When using Cinema DNG the color profile doesn't get stored (at least in Resolve) its removed upon import.

    What I really want to know is what small rig cage is that? It looks perfect.

    • @CrossCultureStudios
      @CrossCultureStudios  9 місяців тому

      The cage is listed as the Small Rig Full Cage Only for Sigma FP and FP L on Amazon. Right now it says currently unavailable but I’m sure that you can find one on the resell market; or a different one in general.
      Thanks for watching!!!

    Thank you from Uruguay :) I always liked this camera, but I am more a photographer than anything else :) BUT I do wish that they would make something similar for Photography, Their lenses are very nice! I am used to the big 150-600 for birding, and it's quite a decent lens. Thanks again ! :)

    Did the T7 Shield ever stopped recording or any other issue?

    • @CrossCultureStudios
      @CrossCultureStudios  9 місяців тому +1

      No I’ve never had an issue with the T7’s or the T5’s. They work great!

      @@CrossCultureStudios Perfect! Was thinking about trying to switch from regular T7 to T7 Shield since my T7 stopped recording a couple of times lately. Also, a rugged SSD is always a good choice :) great video btw, the FP is an excellent choice for the price!

    Picked up an fp last week. Love it but not used to the autofocus

    • @CrossCultureStudios
      @CrossCultureStudios  9 місяців тому

      Yeah. I don’t use the auto focus a ton (barely ever) when I’m shooting video. I can see how it would take some getting used to though. Happy shooting!

      Try the pd movie 3 focus motor

    • @CrossCultureStudios
      @CrossCultureStudios  9 місяців тому

      Great suggestion! I saw this not too long ago and it looks perfect for a solo filmmaker (as well as bigger productions). How do you like PD Movie Focus Motor?

  • @shadowcultur

    What SSD are you recording CDNG to? Looks like a T7 or T9. I’ve tried recording to multiple T7s and the Sigma fp doesn’t recognize them.
    Thus I’ve been recording ProRes to a Ninja V with great results.

    • @CrossCultureStudios
      @CrossCultureStudios  9 місяців тому

      Yes it’s the Samsung T7 Shield. Not sure why your fp isn’t recognizing them but I’m glad to hear that the Ninja V is working.

      I've had my Fp for about 18 months and use a very small 2TB SSD made by Crucial. There's an option in the menu where you can select what happens when you plug something into the USB-C port. I set mine to External Mass Storage.

  • @cine-ish
    @cine-ish 2 місяці тому

    Ironically, I own both the FP and the BMPCC4K, and whilst I love the BMPCC4K it's massive and a pain to bring anywhere, the FP fills a role as a second camera that can be taken and used literally anywhere, even rigged, I've yet to try it on actual shoots (paid work) but I'm hoping to get the XLCS cage and a rig setup for it, granted I'll need a seperate SSD to deal with it's files

    • @CrossCultureStudios
      @CrossCultureStudios  2 місяці тому

      I agree that the BMPCC’s are hardly a pocket camera. But both of the cameras that you own are fantastic. The FP can handle pretty much anything that you throw at it. I just finished a documentary in which we shot in a wide variety of environments and it was no problem for this camera. The files are big but the amount of information for post production is very useful. Keep shooting!

      @@CrossCultureStudios do you shoot it in 1080p raw and upscale? I calculated the 4k and it's like 3tb for 1 hour of recording time which is insane. I do intend to setup a whole rig for it an have been eyeing up the Dzofilm Vespid 40mm as a do-all lens. I also have debated grabbing a hold of the Feiyutech Scorp 2 as it would help me get a lot of smooth shots without lugging around the "pocket".
      Do you have any good solutions for the whole SSD integration and do you shoot off the built in batteries or off external power?

  • @whatisagent5629

    What external hard drive do you record to?

    • @CrossCultureStudios
      @CrossCultureStudios  9 місяців тому

      I record to Samsung SSD T5’s. I edit off of Lacie 5TB hard drives. Both are excellent.

    I've been using my Fp for about 18 months for my own projects and I've come to the conclusion that IBIS and auto-focus are way over-rated for planned video work. I use a monopod when I'm out and about, and the image stabilizer in Resolve works much better (in my opinion) in smoothing out the natural micro-jitters than on something with shot with IBIS on.

    • @CrossCultureStudios
      @CrossCultureStudios  8 місяців тому

      I have to agree with you. Although the technology in the areas of auto focus and IBIS is getting much better, I still prefer manual focus and getting smooth stabilization while shooting. And yes, I will clean the stabilization up in post if needed. Thanks for watching and commenting! Have fun with the FP!!!
