That bonfire ""duelist"" is the epitome of ER players. Feigns fair play, would get pissy with you if you did anything to break what he sees as fair play (probably including healing if he didn't have to be the first one to chug), and then, when it becomes obvious he's going to lose to a better player, refuses to accept it and starts cheesing in any way he can. Dude would have quit out if given enough time, guaranteed.
I appreciate you take the time and effort to do Ranni's quest like a proper tarnished. The good thing about her quest is that with the exception of the lord of chaos ending, you can get her ending even after you beat the game -- which is what I usually do. Finish the game in couple of hours, then after beating radagon/elden, don't touch the statue, instead touch the grace in the stone platform. Then basically beat radhan, run through nekrom until Night's Sacred Ground grace, go chat with ranni so you can open the chest with the finger-slaying knife. Go grab the knife. Give it to her. This will open renna's rise so you can run through Nokstella, beat the shadow assassin wolf, run through lake of rot and etc. In other words locking yourself out of Ranni's quest is really, really hard :)
One thing I'll give Elden Ring above the other Souls titles is that it's actually really difficult to break most questlines. For Ranni's, her's literally doesn't advance until you give her the Fingerslayer Blade, and if you get to Nokron before starting her quest, the chest containing it will give you a message reads something like, "you are not the one destined for this item," or something and prevents you from opening it. The only to lock yourself out of Ranni's quest completely is beating the final boss. Even turning her hostile by attacking her or her allies can be solved with the absolution ritual at Miriam's church.
I'm so happy to see this series back, I really enjoyed the previous one you did, and approve of the changes you made about rune usage. One question, I know you've said you play on PlayStation, how do you handle your consumables? Trade with people who have, uh, large amounts of stuff from sources, or farm them out? And I guess the same applies to weapons and such, like if you wanted five different Shamshirs

The "default" knight armour you get in Rountable Hold is so nice it almost feels like it should belong to an important NPC or be loot in Stormveil or Leyndell. Anyway, loving the series.
@23:33 its funny that you say "I'm going to ignore you, I don't think ill get anything for it" when that exact grace is a popular spawn to farm that dude for his armor lmao. If only he actually killed him and hit the drop rate for it would of been such a cool random come up. @ChaseTheBro
Just a neat little tip against P1 Renalla, you don’t need to kill the cripples that hold her barrier, just smack them once and move on to the next one. I see quite a few people kill them instead of just giving a love tap.
Idk if it's been pointed out yet, but it's actually okay to do Radahn and go down to Nokron before starting Ranni's quest. I usually even go all the way down to the grace across from finger slayer blade and then start her quest to pick it up super fast. However, if you're trying to do Seluvis' quest, then it'd be better to do that before giving her the blade. But if you're just going for Ranni's quest then yeah you're good to rush Radahn and Nokron and just pick up her quest after you reach the Night's Sacred Ground site of grace.
A trick to mkake hosts start losing stamina as an invader is to use Margit's shackle since it counts as a hit and with that starts combat. Can be prett useful for chasedowns.

Not sure if you did it yet, but you get the weathered map from Fia after you talk to Rogier at the hold. I remember you mentioning that in your last vid.

I’ve never messed up Ranni’s quest line I’ve nearly completed the game and started her quest right before killing Radagon Elden Beast. But you can mess up Selvus quest line by giving Ranni the finger layer blade before giving him the AmberStarlight, locking you out of Magic Scorpion Charm. Made this mistake on first every playthrough and was sad as a wizard main. I’m not sure if you can mess up other questlines by progressing hers too far though
There's a skip that allows early access to the sanctified whetblade and star fists, just go to the trap chest that takes you to the top of the leyndell lift, use a furlcalling medicine and taunter's toungue and wait for someone to invade you. You could in theory go grab the erdtree greatbow in the first hero grave by killing the chariot, even though it's not the best. It would be nice to have some long range and potentially throw someone off a cliff, especially since you'll probably be going through Ruin-Strewn Precipice once you finish most of Liurnia. As a bonus, it would be interesting to see a progression for great bows rather than immediately getting the best one, if you're getting one at all this playthrough.

I also had to change my matchmaking settings, as i had them region locked somehow and now i get invasions all the time and this build rocks.
It's crazy to me how many runes you feel comfortable letting runes go to waste because you didn't get enough to level up after just 3 invasions. I just finished my own "level up through invasions" run inspired by your first one, and I would have went insane if I didn't let myself "bank" runes from previous invasions. 3 invasions is nuts, it takes like 10-15+ invasions to level from avg leveled phantoms if you kill everyone (I definitely did not). The way you're doing it basically turns it into an Overleveled Big Brother gacha, and you know those big brothers are going to dry up real soon and turn leveling into a slog. Just a suggestion but maybe consider the "banking" rule - and if you're worried about leveling too fast, maybe place limits on the high end instead of the low end, and only allow yourself 1 max level up per invasion session even if you land a "whale". Your progress would be steadier and more cohesive, and it would make the average invasion a lot more meaningful if you know you won't likely have to basically throw the runes away at the end anyways. Just a thought, we're all having fun watching either way
I always found it funny how Moongrum has (rightfully)earned this reputation of being the parry GOD, but then when you kill him the shield doesn't even come with a parry skill.

For next time, adula's crystal ball attack can be avoided by going directly underneath it and crouching
