Don't move it!!! That's my biggest tip I've learned about this plant... What's yours?!

Hi, I just bought 2 young umbrella plants last week and I just came across your video and I just actually wipe down all the leaves. I'm always spraying my plants like twice a day and all I have is a window sill but so far their doing great. Is there a gentle leaf conditioner you can recommend as even when I try to keep the leaves clean, once the water dries they still look as if there's a slight film on them. Oh yeah- I move all my plants out of the window in the evening as it gets too cold for them and keep them on my table under a grow light and they all seem very happy- thank you! 🤗💖🌱🌿🕊️

Get a bottle of leaf shine. You'll absolutely love it. 🥰

How do we propagate the mini umbrella plant?

how do you think it'd do on a south facing window partial light and a grow light in northern CO?
I have a 5 ft tree I love nearly lost it a few times due to overwatering. I've learned . i hope :) it's outside now but close to bringing it in. we're having some 50 morning still 80 afternoons

I can't say for sure since I'm not physically there to look at the space but it sounds fine. Just wait through the transition period and see if new growth is leggy or not. Good luck!

I have inherited an 8ft very leggy plant from a neighbour who died.
Lots of leaf shedding probably due to moving it and also I think I’ve over watered in my keeness to keep it going.
So as it’s in low light I’m thinking let it dry out before watering from the base?

Yes the first step is definitely let it dry out completely before watering again. Then consider getting a grow light for it. They have some nice full spectrum lights and I know my money tree loves it.

Moving like to keep it lighted by indirect sun then indoor??

Sun thru southern windows depend on where you live.I live in Canada in a area where my southern windows get a lot of sun and the plants love it as our sun is not as intense as if I was living in the south part of the United States.

That is very true. That's why I try to distinguish it as to not to have any HOT direct sunlight! Plants love direct sunlight when it's not like they're an ant under microscope lol! 😆

My umbrella plant's leaves are yellowing and falling off. I've lost an entire branch already and a second one is yellowing fast. This happened previously and stopped when I moved it to a location where it gets a couple of hours of sun through a window in the afternoons. How do I save it this time? The top had been cut off when I bought it so it doesn't grow upwards, and it hasn't grown new branches to replace what previously fell off. I'm afraid if it keeps losing leaves and branches it will eventually die 😔

I would look at your watering. Usually yellowing is caused by too much water, or not enough drainage from the soil.

@thegirlwithashovel thanks for replying. I watered it a couple of days ago, when the soil was dry. It is potted in soil with pumice mixed in to improve drainage. I have a second tree in the same location planted in the same mix that is doing very well. What else can I look at?
