I predict Activision Blizzard will make some sort of fan comeback now that Bobby is out and they're bought by Microsoft... But then they will also layoff a shit ton of people.

Hope you’re right about live service. Btw been wanting to say this for a long time but I finally got around to playing inertia drift and it is excellent thank you the recommendation

Pretty amazing how fast things can change ain't it? I'm looking forward to the tomb raider remastered games, nostalgia is a safe and affordable path for devs, yet I'm still waiting for the Prince of Persia remaster. With the Indiana Jones game being teased, I think it's fair to say that 2024 will do well with single player adventure games/remakes/remasters. WoW being released on console is again a safe bet cashing in on nostalgia. If it works, it works.

Watched this with Archie and he keeps pointing at Wizard Liam and saying Dada. I don't know if he's implying that's what I look like or he's uncovered a deep secret.

I am ready to stuck myself here typing for the next idk how many minutes cuz you asked my predictions (you shouldnt have) first i will comment a bit on some of your predictions actually and then hopefully build up from there, lets hope this is not a mess and ends up understandable
first things first tho i must say im a bit biased as a "microsoft fanboy" i tend to keep an eye out for all companies and celebrate their progress and whatnot but if it does looks like my opinions are biased now you know why
1st prediction: live services will "die" in the eyes of big publishers, now you see as much as i agree with much of what you said about this i dont think its the end of live services being a frequent thing in the gaming market, however its clearly been revealed specially to bigger publishers that its not the pit of money they originally thought it would be, developing a live service game takes time, effort and passion beyond belief, its tough to find a good monetization scheme for it, to find a way to keep players playing it, to add content in a good rhythm to the game and most of all this falls into the shoulders of the developers (well except for the monetization part usually) it can be an incredibly exhausting type of game to develop with a not big chance of working specially right now when depending on the game its gonna be competing against the likes of fortnite with almost 8 years of content (god i feel old), so all this culminates into what i think its going to happen, live service games may still be something that happens somewhat frequently (a big one every year or so), but! they dont always come from big publishers, altho launching a live service game and sustaining it takes a lot of money it is possible to be done in a smaller scale, take for example deep rock galactic which altho its not a "forever game" its definitely a live service or games as a service game, so what we will end up seeing is possibly smaller studios or publishers sometimes dipping their toes in this while bigger publishers do the same, that is only when they feel like they got the secret sauce to do so, when they feel ready and prepared to tackle such a big idea of a game and the chances of success are semi guaranteed now that they've seen how hard it is to tackle this part of the industry, weather this will work out or not i have no idea, i would say yes but at the same time no, it still depends a lot on what the games will be perse but yeah that's my first prediction
2nd prediction: less of a prediction and more of a talk about the industry and what i hope will happen based on what i've seen (i will be optimistic or at least try to) anyway i dont think i need to touch on the fact that layoffs been happening left and right and many talented people been losing their jobs i wish all the best to those people but just like the wizard in the video i dont think im the most qualified to be giving my wishes in this case, i hope it helps nonetheless, what i hope to see in the industry however is more of these talents who got kicked out forming their own independent studios, im sure many of them have plenty of ideas and enough willpower to produce games that could leave their mark, and this is also what i think it will happen with big companies as a whole i dont think a lot of developers will be happy with the idea of living in the shadows of "maybe i wont have my job tomorrow" and will decide in starting their own projects, maybe from spare time maybe quit and do it by themselves, since higher ups seems to see bigger teams as unsustainable i can see something like this happening and eventually the market having more indies impacting it each day, i mean every week or month at this point we see an indie developer rising out of nowhere because things worked out for them and many time competing with the big leagues, lately lethal company or even more recently palworld, it may be just me but i see it happening more and more frequently and it gives me hope that soon enough triple A games may not be the be all they currently are in the market but yeah that's just my opinion and prediction, indies will soar higher than ever while triple As struggle as a result of lay offs and profit quotas cuz CEOs dont wanna be eaten by the company (ha ha see what i did there? anyway moving on)
3rd prediction (possibly last cuz idk when its the character limit for youtube): fortnite strives even further into becoming an actual metaverse and we have the first game to compete with roblox when it comes to user generated content, its no surprise that fortnite is currently on a high that its comparable to big hitters in the industry such as cod and epic games is bound to try and capitalize on that, its been trying to become the actual metaverse for quite a while now and even tho for now its creative mode isnt producing the new game genres it was planning to back when it launched epic games has showed that it will do its best to nudge people that fortnite its more than its battle royale and try to attract developers to use creative with that or at least that's how i see them adding the new games to fortnite, weather or not it will work remains to be seen but the fact that it will eventually become a metaverse of sorts seems inevitable and i will place my bets that new developments for creative mode together with entire new games once again may be just beyond the horizon for epic as they keep on going and adding idk the next famous meme into fortnite cuz of course they will
yeah i probably have more to say, some other stuff to comment but i think i've put a bit of my mind out there and that's enough, sorry for maybe being a hard to read mess im not exactly an english major, also loved the video think you did an amazing work! much love to everyone reading this and i hope you have a fantastic day or night!

😭 HE'S BACK! Oh I've missed your orb ponderings.
Greetings wizard, thank you for your magical wisdom. My prediction this year is that they make another Hyrule Warriors because that would be really funny and make a lot of people mad.

I'll come up with some predictions later, but first: why on earth is your head leaking and why do you choose that day to record a video that includes:
    a) wig wearing
    and
    b) your head

    • @SevenOutOfTen

To answer your first question: I was playing VR and the head strap popped a cyst on my scalp. It became horribly infected. It's been a whole thing. The moral of the story? Never trust Mark Zuckerberg.
And to answer your second question: It's been open for weeks at this point, and I'm an idiot.
      Hope this helps!

@@SevenOutOfTen Yes, thank you, this clears things up, and I hope you will stop leaking soon. best wishes etc.
As I'm currently at work, and not at home playing video games as one should, I have time for some predictions:
      - Star Citizen / Squadron 42 will make big news towards the end of the year, by announcing release or announcing delayed release.
      - Elden Ring DLC in March, obvs.
      - Sekiro 2 will be announced (not happening, but I just really really want it to)
      - Studios notice that you *do* actually need human employees to make video games, and start hiring again, but the most talented people have already founded their own studios, and we will see a wave of awesome *actually* indi games in 2-3 years.
      - Call of Duty: More shooty PewPew releases to the franchise's remaining audience of 50 americans and 3 dead fish.
      - War in Ukraine ends as putin bleeds out from cutting his own dick off for disobedience, Trump dies in a freak Hairdryer accident, and this pushes the world economy into a never before seen boost of economic development.
      - Subset games release their next game after FTL and Into The Breach, which is the culmination, nay, essence of videogaming itself, and everyone basically agrees that there is no point in making games anymore, and just live on a farm and play that game.
Except Hideo Kojima, who does not even notice and keeps on making "experiences" that have a passing resemblance to what video games once were.
Oof. That was fun. Looking forward to making more next year.
