Scott westerfeld is an interesting author but lord does he love his hoverboading and spag boil content
Definitely recommed reading the rest of the series as it gets even more wild/insane

Read the series when I was 11-13 and have reread it multiples times since, excited to see someone do a review on it 🎉

omg omg these books. god I remember how bored I was with all the stuff about the hoverboards and traveling from one place to another...! How were they so weirdly paced and boring? I read them as a kid, kind of before the dystopian craze, but they were certainly memorable to me if nothing else. I did re read them so I could read the new books that have come out set in that world, they're not bad.

I remember having to read this when I started high school lol, interesting to see it get a film and more attention now (I also thought it was kinda boring, don’t even remember much of the later half when the story supposedly got interesting lmao), thanks for the recap 😸

I thought the timing of the book was super off. It felt like the author ran out of good plot points.
