UNLOCK New Features and Modify your vehicle settings by using this easy to use device
Looking at some of the Carista features and how to operate them on my iPhone. Android app is also available.
I add the large MPH Speedometer, Needle sweep on ignition, automatically locking of doors when I drive away and unlocking when i remove the key.
I also check my Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) soot levels and show how a forced regen can be carried out if required.
Other settings include lights, doors, mirrors. Have a look at the Carista website for more information.

I bought a VW Transporter T6 Kombi Highline van 140bhp diesel SWB with tailgate.
Slowly turning it into a camper van / day van with bed. I will also need something for cooking, cooling, sleeping, drinking ?? Choices to be made.
I have lots more to do though, I have a new electrical system, using Victron components and a Lithium LIFEPO4 battery, so I obviously need to install some power devices. I have a new sound system, with Focal speakers and ibus 2.1 amp, Playstation PS4, which will be removable, TV's on headrests.
Lots for me to look forward too and it would be nice to take you on the journey.

I bought this to use on my Mk 5 golf TDI, I’ve used to reset service, diagnose faults in aircon (pressure sensor), engine control unit and ESP. It’s been brilliant. Helped me when I broke down at night on A14 (fuel sender/pump failed) I’ve switched off the seat belt warning as it kept beeping saying I wasn’t wearing seat belt when I was. I’ve switched off the brake pad warning light as it had a wiring fault and not worn pads. This week I’m using it to help me fix a boost fault. Maybe time to change the car 😂

Great video and very informative thank you. Just wanted to let you know that the OBD (On board diagnostics) isn’t OBD 11 (eleven) it’s actually OBD 11 (two)
Thinking about getting the Carista one as it’s a cheap option as unfortunately we’re having to change our lovely T5.1 to a T6, both are campers.
Anyway, that’s another story 🤦♂️

Hi Lee, it is actually eleven. Www.obdeleven.com 😀 It’s a middle of the road product, between Carista and VCDS. Have a look on the websites and see what features you need and then you can decide which to get. Carista is so easy to use and if you did need any other features, there are people locally on the forums who have VCDS and can help 👍
I’m really sorry for getting that wrong, I was just going from what I’d used years ago to do diagnostic tests when I was in a garage. Was told it was an OBD 2. No matter, it was an innocent mistake.
I know this is off topic from your video but does the T6 (67 plate) have any cup holders? With our T5.1 (63 plate) it has the two cup holders that are either side of the ashtray that pulls out of the dash. Bizarre question I know but just curious. Also, the comfort dash that you have installed on your van, have you got a video or link to showing it please?

Yes the T6 has cup holders on top of the dash board, one at each end.

Hi, tried to change my 60 reg Golf plus 1.6 tdi speedo to large digital but wouldn’t work. Had no option for Australia in Language. I could change to Australia in Region but that just changed everything to Kms. Help. Cheers.

Yes it will. You can see on the Carista website what functions are available for a particular vehicle to check

Got it , plugged it in - all sorted. Not sure why the needle sweep is so sweet but it certainly is!

Gauge needle sweep I don’t have that option on my vw Jetta 2012 any idea why ?
I believe needle sweep for the Jetta is only available for models 2013 onwards
