@@Matchaaat Even Ubisofts own playtests have shown that the majority of The Settlers - players play it for some relaxing city-building (because at its heart, The Settlers has always been a city-builder with RTS elements, not the other way around). @@quuaaarrrk8056 hey there, thanks for providing a bit of context and being respectful. I'd be curious to know how you get access to these play tests documents. I understand some might be nostalgic of the good old The Settlers but what if the team wanted to explore something different? It is not "The Settlers remaster" and, after reading couple of other comments, it seems like there are also enthusiastics for this new proposition, even if it is halfway between "old The Settlers" and a classic RTS. To be honest, I wrote my comment because I'm tired of this overexagerated and sometimes blind hate about this company. I know some people who worked on the game and it is heartbreaking to see this message as a top comment (which is basically the same bellow all the Ubisoft's announcements). I was hesitant with this game because of all the negative comments and videos surrounding this, primarily in beta, so I paid for the ubisoft subscription and played the earlier settlers games prior to launch. What I found is that this is indeed a settlers game. It is not an AoE game or SC2 like people keep saying. It is still a relaxed supply chain management game. It is not exactly like any prior settlers game, but I can clearly see the inspiration from previous titles in the franchise. I think that the big problem with this franchise is that they have had so many variations on the core concept, and that a lot of people are upset it is not THEIR settlers that they wanted. I’d liken it akin to every new Civilization game. Typically the last one has great reviews and the new one the die hards don’t like and give it bad reviews for a while. It is still a relaxed pace game. Some people wanted the settlers 7, others wanted 3 or 4, and I just wanted a settlers game. I got it and I’m glad. Maybe the pvp sucks, but I never played a settlers game for that so I can’t comment on that aspect.
