How to Install an Engine Computer on Saturn L Series & GM Passkey 3 Relearning Procedure
Step-by-Step instructions:
1) Insert a master key (black plastic top, not a grey/valet key) into the ignition switch.
2) Turn key to the “ON” position without starting the engine. Security light should turn on and stay on.
3) Wait for 10 minutes or until the security light turns off.
4) Turn key to the “OFF” position for 5 seconds.
5) Repeat Steps 2-4 two more times until the security light stays off when the key is in the "ON" position. At this point, the vehicle is ready to start.

I don't get the Security light when I cycle the key on. I have not Replaced the ECM 'yet', it is just not responding/showing error not responding to the KeyFob. The rest of the entire car works perfectly fine.
I also have same problem. No security light
What fixed the issue?

I just received your product today in the mail. I have performed this operation to get my pass key relearned. Without the relearn the engine would not even turn over. Now with the relearn the starter is turning the engine over but will not start. What’s my next step?

I know the CKS is near the oil filter on our 03 L300 V6, and the ECT sensor is near the battery upper driver side. Might you know what this sensor is in my video? Under and rear of the water pump on passenger side leaking coolant.

I just got my ECM today from you guys. My battery needs a charge and the person doing the charge will be over tomorrow. I really, really hope this is all my car needs and this works ^_^ Come on, baby, mama needs her own set of wheels again!
Edit: Alrightie, so, things were going great until cycle number 3. The security light and the panel flashed on for a second and then went away and the car was dead. The car had been sitting for three weeks and the battery was dead before I began the process so I was getting a jump from my mom's car as I did the cycling. I waited about twenty minutes of charging the battery first before I did this. I was still charging the battery on cycle 3 when everything stopped working.
My mom had to go to work so I wasn't able to maintain the charging. I switched back to the original ECM and same, car is dead. I've swapped back to the new one once more. It's possible the battery is bad. It was a $50 battery from Walmart that was in the car when I got it three years ago. So...that's my next move, gonna try a new battery and see if that helps, maybe there isn't enough juice to turn over the alternator (and I hope the alternator isn't bad...I just replaced it in November 2019 and it's currently May 2020. But my car has been flashing at times with the dash so something with the electrical is certainly off. I just hope that isn't affecting this whole thing.
You can buy a plug in charger for your battery. Leave it on overnight! That’s easy, take care of the no brainers first
@@ecb8252000 I actually went one better. I now own a portable charger. It uses very little energy to jump off standard cars/SUV's and lasts for months. No more having people coldly roll their window up on me either when I'm stranded and need a jump. I just keep it in the trunk of the car and that thing has saved me more times than I can count. Best $100 I've spent, lol.
A lot of the videos have read say not to disconnect the battery terminal and to do something regarding turning the key over? I got a clutch job done, but we disconnected the battery and computer over a month ago, and the shop doesn't know why it won't start and there are no lights.... My understanding is the ECM has been disconnected too long?
Hello Emily. You may need to charge the battery if you are getting no lights at all, or replace the battery entirely.
so no programming required if u put a used one just only do this 30 min relearn stuff?
The ECU still needs to be programmed.
What if you don't have that security light on your Saturn? How would you program it?
I chance the computer from the junk yard i did the 3 steps the security is off but when i start the engine the security comes on a friend said the computer have to be the same numbers it's that true
Hmmm my car didn't come with such a key
..with black plastic top...it has a key that is all metal.
