Best part of this is MJ fist pumping, not once, but twice when the kid on Butler's team misses a shot. The guy was a competitive sociopath and the only thing that made him likable was the 6 for 6 in title runs and the great marketing/pr team he surrounded himself with.
Chris Holloway Actually it was his style of play that made him so famous/likable. He was such a transcendent athlete unlike anything we'd ever seen before. Still, no one can play with the grace and artistry he played with. He was like an artist on the court. That's why he was a MASSIVE superstar before he ever won a title. Also a sociopath, yes. But to say he was only likable because of his rings and marketing is ridiculous. He was the most popular athlete in the world before he ever won a ring, because his style of play mesmerized everyone.
+Michael L, I don't buy that entirely. Kobe has a similar style of play and he's a hated figure in the league. Difference is number of rings and blemishes on his finals record. Of course just my opinion, but that's my opinion. Also, I think Jordan became the undisputed biggest athlete in the world at the 1992 Olympics. That put in perspective whose world it was and that point he already had 2 Championships, right? Nike, Gatorade, McDonalds all had something great to market, but they also crafted excellent campaigns around Jordan and his aura.
Chris Holloway well that's not news to anyone. he didn't even hide it. thing is it's exactly that sort of mindset that made him achieve those championships. the guy was a competitive sociopath, which is exactly the characteristic he needed in order to achieve what made him so likeable it's not really unusual that the people who are the best in their field are usual egocentric aholes. look at the guy running tesla motors, look at steve jobs. no one in their professional life liked/likes them, really, but people still admire them. i'm not saying I approve of any of this, but it is what it is and consequently, it's a bit redundant to point out that MJ was quite a dick. also, there were worse. laimbeer was a downright criminal on the court who didn't deserve the career he had, if you ask me. he was actually out to hurt people and yeah, the NBA loved to market MJ. he made all of today's players millionaires. and yes, they protected him (god knows what was really behind that first retirement). all of this isn't news, though. once he punched Reggie Miller and got away with it, *everyone* knew. he was still the most watchable and amazing basketball player to ever play in the nba. and that's ultimately what people remember when it comes to MJ. I remember seeing a video of Kobe being in a freethrow contest with some kid on Ellen's show. kobe let the kid win and missed on purpose. people in the comments would say "lol MJ would've scored every single shot and trash talked the kid". everyone had a laugh about it. people know. many people watch sports in order to just release all the daily life stress. it's the only place where hating a person/group of people (a player/a team) is acceptable and not mean spirited. furthermore, there's nothing more satisfying than seeing your personal emotional involvement represented on the screen. MJ's competitiveness did just that, imo. watching MJ play was weirdly therapeutic, sometimes. lastly, kids like to compete. why not bond with the kid in your team and do a fist bump?
Begeaux I agree with you 100%. I just found it hilarious and completely in line with what we know his personality to be that he would fist pump when a kid missed a shot.
Chris Holloway yes, it's hilarious. i had to laugh when i saw it. i was just waiting for him to talk trash as soon as i started the video. it's MJ, ffs
I wouldn't mind seeing an old MJ, an old Magic, and an old Bird in a shooting contest. Although I'm sure Bird might get the best of that one, It would still be nice to watch for the trash talking alone. lol! I would rather watch that than a modern NBA game.
The NBA All-Star weekend need to have 1vs1, 2vs2, etc of legends or legends with current players. I know they've done that before but Jordan's competitiveness will make everyone raise their game making it fun to watch. Who's with me?
Kieran Paterson you telling me you wouldn't choose Steve Kerr, Larry Bird, Dirk Nowitzki, John Paxson, Marco Bellinelli, or Jerry West in a shooting contest?
Kyle Lowry, Kawaii Leonard, jimmy butler, some of the few players that play today that could survive and compete in Jordan era...... Smh at how soft today game is.
***** Butler had his foot on the line too. So did the kids. lol! You are being salty in a game with kids in it. Damn, you got issues. Don't worry, if you sign off, work will hard, you can be somebody too.
The most competitive man in the world. Only Jordan pumps his fist when a 11 year old kid air balls it. LOL
@MAN UTD cap soccer pretty gay
@M Soccer is boring and trash
MJ fist pumps when the kid misses shots. classic super competitive mj.
hokey dokey LMAO! You noticed that too. Awesome!
Father and Son just ballin out.
Still making Clutch 3 pointers at the buzzer at 50 years old...
DaZ316 pft on the line
peter wyatt middleton. Everybody in the video did. They didn't want to step on the children, you fucking moron. lol!
Beatig Swartz jordan in his prime would have thrown the kid out of the way and took the 3. he went soft
DaZ316 ball in hand when the buzzer light turns on
DaZ316 50 isn't that old to make a 3... if he was dunking head above the rim at 50, that would be impressive..
Father son.
Lucky kids...
You know mj had to hit the buzzer beater
Wasn't a buzzer beater he didn't get it off in time
Like father like son
MJ still got skills
MJ was my entire childhood! Truly the greatest...........

This didn't even show much of MJ smh
I wouldn't mind seeing an old MJ, an old Magic, and an old Bird in a shooting contest. Although I'm sure Bird might get the best of that one, It would still be nice to watch for the trash talking alone. lol! I would rather watch that than a modern NBA game.
Wis Dom I absolutely agree with you too. 'Modern' basketball isn't the same and is much less interesting to watch without those players.
So True!
Jordan still GOAT
Skeelo MJ always GOAT.

DjSickClown who are you? Oh yes.. BLOCKED
+Yung God Lol
MJ still clutching buzzer-beater shots at 50...crazy
Misleading ass title, gtfo here.
x6King6x You right doe. It's technically 2 black people vs 1 black 1 white. Butler never had a chance smh.
Really? Since when did race matter? From my eyes MJ and his kid were knocking down shots and the White kid AND Jimmy Butler were bricking everything.
x6King6x You're from Moddingway!
Camouflage913 Lol not anymore tho, since you cant really mod 2K15 in steam.

Still the Greatest!
Still looks like MJ! How many years later and I would give anything to watch him play again in his prime LIVE. In old Chicago Stadium against Detroit.
Long Live "Your Airness"!
I would say shot chock cheese, but that's really just Jordan being the GOAT.
Damn, that kid has a better jump shot then me..
It's good to see the ball back in the hands of the master.
The NBA All-Star weekend need to have 1vs1, 2vs2, etc of legends or legends with current players. I know they've done that before but Jordan's competitiveness will make everyone raise their game making it fun to watch. Who's with me?
Lebron wishes he had Jordan's jumpshot
lopido love how mention the man out of nowhere lol
Joseph Frantz just like how he want back to cleveland out of nowhere
Densanity pretty sure cleveland was the favourite to land him if he left miami; it was hardly out of nowhere

Jimmy butler reminds me of MJ So much
Except Jimmy Butler is above average at best, and Michael Jordan is one of the greatest players of all time.
***** Jordan was defensive player of the year.....How is Butler better?
AJ6ClipsFoLife closer to pippen than jordan
James Holdat I started thinking cause there was one pic, they looked pretty similar, some even said Butler was Jordan's son lol
Hi Die One of the greatest players? He IS the greatest player, undoubtedly, of all time.

skill never fades
those kids are pretty good though
Nice setup by the Kid
If you look closely you can see Lebron miss a layup...
And thats why the looney toons wanted his help to save there world :D
That's why you never choose the white kid (I'm white).
Kieran Paterson dude, u just back from the 90's?
I've seen a lot of good white players, YOU personally probably don't practice or your to lazy too. If you put hard work in you will get good.
Trickgamer23 ".....or your to lazy too. If you put hard work in you will get good." Yeah, guess that applies to you also with your misuse of English.
Kieran Paterson you telling me you wouldn't choose Steve Kerr, Larry Bird, Dirk Nowitzki, John Paxson, Marco Bellinelli, or Jerry West in a shooting contest?
Pat Draper don't forget John Stockton and Nash
Jimmy Butler missing makes me question his new contract (granted, he has solid defensive skills).
So. Damn. Competitive. 🐐
Well, he didn't beat the buzzer.
Finally found an opponent he can beat so that better than the true goat can be put to rest. No way Jordan and son could beat the king and son - fact!
I bet none of them kids know who those 2 even are haha
MJ is god!! Forever!!!
love for mj the greatest
Bring MJ back as a spot up shooter like Ray Allen
If you look closely you can see, Dez caught it.

That kid has more points than Rodman.

lol mj buzzer beater sadly wasn't good but still great to see everyone having fun
Michael Jordan great basketball player who agree with me.?
Kyle Lowry, Kawaii Leonard, jimmy butler, some of the few players that play today that could survive and compete in Jordan era...... Smh at how soft today game is.
Umm guys. The ball was still in his hand when the buzzer went off. Watch closely.
wouldn't it be even better if he give the young kid who didnt quite get the shots in a handshake
Genial, como se llama la canción?
Who else thinks jimmy butler looks like dc young fly?
MJ cheating at his own camp in front of all those kids - great example lmao!
awesomekc Well, either way - still cheated to win in front of all those kids lol
awesomekc It's Jordan's camp, Butler was a special guest.
***** cheat how?
***** Butler had his foot on the line too. So did the kids. lol! You are being salty in a game with kids in it. Damn, you got issues. Don't worry, if you sign off, work will hard, you can be somebody too.
Wis Dom If anyone knows Jordan's mentality, they will laugh at that comment and not think I'm being salty.
Jimmy Butler? Never heard of her...
Legend M.J
second GOAT
Amazing !
Jordan wins again. Jordan should just come back because he would easily average 30 points these days.
