Once you are at a permanent place, buy some diatomaceous earth (for the ants, roaches, scorpions, etc.). I sprinkle it around the door and windows once every two weeks or so and I haven't had any critters since. I also have a cover for every single drain, both shower floor and sinks (I think some were coming up through them).
That is a great idea. We do know about that and it does seem to work very effectively. And yes, the drains can be an entry point as well. Thanks Jenny!
It would rain almost every day in some manner. It was pretty heavy at times, as you could see. It did actually totally fill the pool to the brim. It has been that way here in Merida as well. Late afternoon rains and thunderstorms. Hopefully you will get some soon. Thanks for watching Linda.
I think the price was high as well, furnishings were lacking. Thank you for being honest, with all the taxes and fees we pay to stay hosts need to step up a bit. A toilet seat at least 😂😂😂

It was a great little town. We did pay for the location and to have king size bed. Some locations we have chosen have been problematic in fulfilling all of our requirements and Valladolid proved to be one of them. Most of the locations we end up choosing from a list of 10 or more properties. Not the case here. Thanks Winston!
You've mentioned visiting the Lake Chapala area... Here's a pretty obscure you tube channel most don't know about. "Ed Jim Chapala" An elderly gentleman who does regular short walking videos in Chapala and Ajijic, etc. He claims the lake isn't that much worse than most silt/dirt bottom lakes.??? 🤠✌️

Ours is 2012 that we have had for years. It is doing great down here. We brought it with us from the US and will be selling it back there at the end of our 4 years of temporary residency. Then we will purchase here in Mexico.

That walk video is actually our new 360 camera that automatically removes the stick that she is holding while filming. It is some phenomenal technology that gives a unique perspective and is so much easier to produce the video.

I use a website called www.motelesdemexico.com/ It breaks them down by state and then by city. I then click on the reviews and can get a good idea if it is a place that we want to stay or not. I basically try to stay with 4.3 stars or above. When we drove down, I actually printed a list of the top 4 in each city to try and give us options in case something occurs. Thanks Wilfredo!

Hi Guys; Water pressure is my number one issue, I can even deal with a cold shower somewhat. Always nice when there is cold beer in the fridge when You arrive, I have had that happen several times BIENVENIDOS. Shame the cenote was closed, that would have been the cat's meow as far as location goes. Have to agree with you seems a little overpriced for what it was......but clean is always a huge plus.
Yeah, the water pressure was a really big issue. It was a pain in the @$$ to have to open three faucets to get any pressure in the kitchen. And even then it wasn't great. They were great to work with and the location was PRIMO! And yes, we paid dearly for that location and a king bed. That was another thing that was difficult to find in Valladolid. The beers were most appreciated later that evening in the pool.
We are staying in an Airbnb that we had to buy supplies for, ac filter, dish soap, scrub brush, cleaning supplies, wash all the towels and sheets, purchased cookware and air purifier just to be comfortable for a month since it's non refundable completely.
We travel with all of that. One of the reasons that the car is so full. But it has proven to be very helpful in a few situations. We don't need anything for the one here in Merida. The creature comforts are key to help make it a comfortable stay. Thanks Steve and Caroline.
That one is as hard no for me, even at half the price. The Airbnb prices are getting outrageous unfortunately. We’re in Europe at the moment and we’re staying in hotels more often, even for extended stays.
I get that Ken. We thought that we had hot water, but nope. If it had been for longer than the 4 weeks we were there, we would have had to maybe rethink it. The one thing that it did do, was reinforce the thought of the solar hot water systems that are on so many roofs here in Mexico.

That was all with the new 360 camera with the obvious exception of the drone shots of Centro. That camera really does do a great job Jenny. Glad that we made the investment as it gives a great perspective.

They would at that Shane. We finally have one here in our 6th Airbnb. You really do get used to depositing the paper in the waste can in the bathroom. You also get used to emptying said can very regularly. LOL
@GringosRUs I have ones here in the states that I got on Amazon that are quick and easy to install on toilets here. If we end up doing what you're doing someday, I may have to take one from place to place haha!

Hi Guys! Can I ask what Auto motel that was? Did you just find by googling when planning your road trip to the Yucatán? I’m always curious how much space are in those garages and how big of a car can fit in. Sad how expensive airbnbs have gone up the last few years. Did any of the reviews on that Airbnb list any of the issues you had? We’ve visited Vallidolid numerous times but never stayed. We used stay in the same beautiful colonial in Merida for quite a few years and it seemed during Covid maintenance went down and after Covid prices escalated 😢 Can’t wait to see your Merida digs 😊

I then read the reviews and go from there. We have a full size SUV with a roof bag on top and we have not yet had any problems fitting into any of the garages. That particular one was Auto Hotel Costa Azul and it cost us just about 700 pesos for the evening and it was very nice and comfortable.
The gorditas looked good, the produce you bought looks fantastic, the view of the town from the drone was wonderful! The Airbnb looked cute, that stinks about the hot water though, glad that you guys handled it well.
Well, a cold shower isn't the end of the world Cindy, but it does open the eyes a little. The food on that street was magnificent and we thoroughly enjoyed eating there. It will be very interesting to see the numbers when we do the finance video. Thanks for watching!

For a week or less it would be perfect. We did review it, as we do all our stays, and we were honest. Things we liked and areas that needed attention.

What's the trick to not flushing paper when they don't have bidets? Bidets would be extra great in those situations.
