That pink astromech you guys commented on has a bit of a story actually. It's name is R2-KT. It was made for a young girl named Katie who had brain cancer and loved star wars. Her father was the founder of the 501st legion (very cool stormtrooper cosplayers). As she was bedridden due to the cancer, she said that she wished she had R2 watching over her like Padme did in episode 2. Someon in the 501st legion made a model of R2 in pink for her, and it made its way into the franchise. She died in 2005. She was 7 years old.

So basically when a child becomes a Jedi and starts training (typically ages infant until 12-15) they are put in classes like in school, and are trained in groups with things like normal education, combat, and force knowledge. Somewhere along the line they build a lightsaber, and then a bit after that, they get "adopted" by a Jedi Knight as their padawan (student). They then train under that knight for really as long as they want, until they then have to go through a series of trials. Once they succesfully complete these trials, they are officially Knighted. And if they are specially exceptional, they could be promoted by the council to Jedi Master, and actually be a part of the council. And Yoda is the leader of the entire order and refered to and the Jedi Grandmaster.

They become a Padawan when a Jedi Master or Jedi Knight takes them as a pupil.
As for extendable sabers: I'm not sure about Disney canon, but in legends this was a thing. It wasn't a standard feature, but quite a few Jedi included a dial on their sabers that allowed them to adjust the length of the blade. Some notable Jedi even used this mid combat to throw off their opponent.

Here's more or less how the ranking goes for the Jedi Order.
(Please feel free to correct or clarify anything I get wrong or leave out)
Youngling: A force sensitive child. Usually taken at a young age to be trained.
Service Corp: Padawan who did not achieve the rank of knight or did not find a master to train under but can still be useful to the Order. (Medics, explorers, librarians, etc.)
Padawan: A Jedi in training. Trained under a knight or master. Not yet a full member of the Order. They must pass trials to achieve Knighthood.
Knight: A full member of the Jedi Order. There are classes within the rank, Guardian, consular, and Sentinel, who specialize in different things. Knights can take on a Padawan as an apprentice.
Master: A Jedi who has shown a high level of skill, knowledge, and wisdom and has trained a Padawan to Knighthood.
Council Member: A master sitting on one of the Councils, Council of First Knowledge, Council of Reconciliation, Council of Reassignment, and the High Council. You must have the rank of master to sit on the councils. A notable exception is Anakin Skywalker, who was a High Council member as a Knight.
Master of the Order: The highest ranking member of the High Council who acts as the Leader of the Council. The master of the order, alongside the High Council and the Grand Master, Oversees the rest of the Councils and the Jedi Order as a whole. Can only be obtained by those who are incredibly knowledgeable in the ways of the Jedi.
Grand Master: The highest and most prestigious rank in the Jedi Order. Can only be obtained by a unanimous vote by the High Council. The Grandmaster works alongside the Master of the Order. They also oversee the training of younglings, passing on their wisdom and knowledge to the next generation of Jedi.
Types/Classes. There are multiple types/classes of Jedi Knights. Each one specializes in a different skill set.
Guardians. The Jedi focus on lightsaber combat. They dedicate themselves to learning lightsaber combat and honing their skills. Notable examples are Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker.
Consulars. Jedi focus on the use of the force. They prefer the use of force, both in and out of combat. They often act as diplomats on behalf of the Order. Notable examples are Yoda and Luke Skywalker.
Sentinels. The jack of all trades Jedi. They have a balance of force and lightsaber knowledge and often learn skills outside of the Jedi teachings. Skills include the use of weapons such as blasters, demolitions, hacking, espionage, and assassinations. Notable examples are Bastila Shan(KOTOR) and Klye Katarn(legends/old EU. He might not be a sentinel but I don't know for sure.).
    Fun Facts!
A padawan can obtain the rank of a knight without going through the Knight trials if they perform a great deed. An example is Obi-Wan defeating Darth Maul.
Mace Windu was the Master of the Order before the Clone Wars but stepped down to play a more active role on the battlefield, giving the title to Yoda.
Satele Shan, the Jedi woman from the Old Republic trailers, is the descendant of Bastila Shan from KOTOR, and later became the Grand Master.
Those who failed to achive Knighthood either joined the service corp or were allowed to leave. Those who left often want back to their homeworlds. Some used their limited knowledge of the force for their own benefit, spies, hustlers, athletes, etc.

So, just a heads up guys, in this movie Mace Windu is voiced by Samuel L. Jackson and Count Dooku is voiced by Christopher Lee; but after this Dooku will be voiced by Corey Burton (who voices Jabba the Hutt's uncle Ziro the Hutt, doing an impression of Truman Capote) and Windu will be voiced by Terrence Carson (the original voice of Kratos in God of War). So if you see their names in the credits, just know they aren't sticking around. Also at 19:11 "the Hutt" is just a reference to Jabba's species. The whole species are called Hutts and Huttese is their native language. Jabba's real full name is Jabba Desilijic Tiure, which is hard to say and spell, so most just call him Jabba the Hutt (the Hutt named Jabba, essentially is what it means).

You will come to love and enjoy seeing the name "Dave Filoni", the director of this movie, in the credits. Dave was very much George Lucas's protege, and he headed up most of the more successful Star Wars animated projects after Lucas sold the company to Disney and retired. He's also worked on some of the live action projects Disney's produced such as episodes of "The Mandalorian" (which was his live action directorial debut) and "The Book of Boba Fett".
By the way, Filoni also worked on some parts of Avatar: The Last Airbender Season 1. He worked as a storyboard artist and character designer during the first season, AND he directed some episodes including "The Boy in the Iceberg" (S1E1), "The Avatar Returns" (S1E2), "Jet" (S1E10), "The Blue Spirit" (S1E13), "The Fortuneteller" (S1E14), "The Northern Air Temple" (S1E17), and the season finale "The Siege of the North, Part 2" (S1E20). He's responsible for some of the best episodes of the first season, some of the best characters in the show (like Jet and The Mechanist), and the setup for some of the biggest events in the show (such as the creation of the airships, which went on to become one of the biggest threats of Season 3, even being used in the series finale).

OH! There are length-adjustable lightsabers in Legends - One dude, he built a saber that had an extra, tunable focus crystal in his saber than let him shorten or lengthen the blade, and he even surprised Luke, the then Master of the Order. Another Jedi that Luke trained, Corran Horn, was witness to the duel and imitated the technique when he had to build a brand new saber, behind enemy lines, whilst infiltrating a group of Imperial Remmnants. I believe his ended up having a cheap knockoff crystal, causing overload and basically frying his saber after he tried using the feature.

Hut lore!: they were once lone hunters in the old old Republic. Imagine that, something that big being a hunter. In all fairness, they weren't as fat as Jaba when doing that. They actually are full of muscle and can be crazily agile. They also exterminated a bunch of sentient alien species in their sector and enslaved the useful ones who decided to submit. One last bit of lore, a hut isn't seen as an adult until they reach 200 years of age.

What made this movie particularly special was that they brought back Samuel L Jackson and Christopher Lee to reprise their roles for this film to be apart of this new cast that takes over the show and since the voice actor who played Ziro the Hutt ends up playing Dooku for the rest of this series. This movie became so damn great that back when this first came out in theaters I myself was feeling large amounts of nostalgia in waiting for this to become a show that I knew this was going to be one of the greatest shows to watch. I think we can all agree that the actor who voiced Dooku was the best and no one can out best the original cause his laugh from this film made it iconic that he was him with that voice. Side note: Mace Windu voice actor ends up being Terrance C Carson for the rest of the series instead of Jackson so this is for these guys to know.

The Hutts are a species that originated from the outer rim world of Nal Hutta. The Hutt Cartel just so happens to be one of the biggest organizations in the criminal underworld spanning across the galaxy for thousands of years. Anakin and his mother, Shmi, were both sold as slaves by the hutt clans. Having grown up on Tatooine, Anakin himself could fluently speak Huttese. He even spoke in Huttese when he returned to Tatooine and spoke to Watto in Episode II: Attack of the Clones.
Also, it’s worth nothing that Anakin’s hatred of the Hutts, as even displayed in this film, stems from his anger towards all slavers.

I remember I saw this in theatres when I was like 7-8. I begged my mom to let me go, and by the time I left the theatre, my little 8 year old self was so giddy with excitement, I NEVER expected the clone wars to get as big, have as much lore as it has, and probably be one of, if not the best, animated cartoon stories of all time (debatably, trying not to be biased)
This show will make you feel every emotion, whilst growing each character, mission, and the lore.
The clone wars started with this, and by the time the final season comes around, you’ll see the difference, the emotion, the dark themes. They say this is a kids show, but it’s not.
Also, this show TEACHES. It’s hard to explain, but rewatching the clone wars recently, I just realized how much the opening quote means to the story. That quote goes with the theme of the story, and, as weird as it may sound, you can incorporate MOST of those quotes into your own life.
The clone wars will always be special. It will always hold a huge part in my heart - I hope y’all feel the same way after you finish this series. Good luck, and may the force be with you throughout this endeavor!😊

With Jedi ranks, they start as Initiates when they're still toddlers because they're yet to form attachments to their families, which is partly the reason why Anakin was initially denied. As they get older, they're separted into groups called Clans and become Younglings; they're trained at the Jedi Temple and learn the basics of the Force and lightsabers and have to complete a series of trials to progress further, such as gathering the kyber crystals to build their own lightsabers.
Once they've passed that, they become Padawans. Padawans were usually selected by Masters for training before the Clone Wars, but the Jedi Council was forced to assign them to Jedi during the Clone Wars by military necessity. The purpose of being a Padawan was the one-to-one training with a Jedi Knight or Master, and the real-world experience they would get from such a role. To graduate to Jedi Knight, you would have to pass another series of trials, though these were a bit more nebulous and could either be structured or in the field.
To become a Jedi Master, you must have successfully trained at least one Padawan to knighthood. The reasoning for this is that Jedi must be able to prove they can teach what they have learned as well as being able to let go of their Padawans.

The stages of Jedi Traing and their ranks:
-Youngling: You are being tougher the very basics of the Jedi arts at temple in classes.
-Padawan: Most Jedi are assigned to a Jedi knight or master at the age of 14-16, so with 14 Ahsoka is indeed rather young.
-Knights: Padawans are being trained for a long time, though I don’t know how long exactly, Obi-Wan became Qui-Gons Padawan at age 13 and when he was knighted at age 25 the council still largely thought he was too young. Anakin was knighted at age 19, even though he only joined the order at age 9.
-Masters: It is very hard to become a master and a lot of Jedi never become masters. All Jedi on the jedi high council are masters, but not all masters are on the council.
-Grandmaster: The wisest and strongest Jedi of the order is the grandmaster. Currently that is Grandmaster Yoda.
That all being said. Taking a Padawan on at age 14 might be okay during peace times. During war time where Jedi are more soldiers than peace keepers, they should get Padawans way later. Sadly the opposite happened. Because even Jedi die, there was a need for more of them on the battlefield. Therefore Younglings became quicker Padawans and Padawans became quicker knights so they could take on Padawans and so on.

The youngest and lowest possible rank of the Jedi order is initiate. You would be the initiate the time you were excepted in the temple until you are assigned a master. Initiate the training is everything. It’s your general schooling, with very little force training. Once initiates have completed their trials, they will be put up for apprenticeship. Then they will earn the rank of Padawan. The apprenticeship will last most of the Jedi’s life. When you’re the master satisfied with a Padawan’s ability, he would put it to the council to initiate the trials into knighthood. As a Jedi knight, you would be allowed to go on solo missions, deal with problems across the galaxy, and you have the ability to get an apprentice of your own. Knights results through their lifetime of service, temperance combat ability and mastery of the force can be granted the rank of Jedi Master. The single, highest rank in the Jedi order is the grandmaster, which to my knowledge there can only be one grandmaster at a time. But among the Jedi masters, there are specific skills or specialties that stand out. Such as Jedi battle master, somewhat exceptional skill with a light saber, and can teach all seven forms to others.

It's been said that this movie was originally created as a 3-part series premiere for the Clone Wars, but George Lucas decided he wanted it in theaters. For me at least, this makes Ziro the Hutt's introduction in the last third of the movie make a bit more sense. If this had been planned as a movie from the start the Padme / Ziro plotline would have been introduced and interwoven into the story a bit earlier. It felt inconsistent for that plot to just kind of "show up" in the last third of the movie, but it makes a lot more sense as part 3 of the premiere.
