    Your structure, methodology and presentation are consistent, succinct and absolutely engaging as a viewer, especially with the chapters. Ever since I've subbed to you, you've been informative and responsive, thank you for your hard work and insight into an OG refresh!
    Also you might want to take a look into the Cooler Master MH751/752, absolutely sleeper headsets that are still worth their money for comfort, mic quality and soundstage. I think one prominent reviewer called it one of the best sub 200USD wired, closed back headphones.

    "Less likely to split" that's absolutely fantastic for me, as someone with a large head I've went through 3-4 pairs of cloud 2s and alphas which all broke in the same way, overtime the buckle snapped or caused other breaks

    Audio producer here and I'd leave one tip based on what you mention around 11:50 about boosting audio a bit. You never, EVER should boost anything with EQ unless you're sound designing and doing that on purpose. Instead you should CUT the other areas leaving the part you want to hear a bit more of the frequency.
    What I did to clean HyperX Cloud 3 was simply cutting the low end with the HyperX NGENUITY. -3dB to 120Hz; -1.5dB to 64Hz and -3dB to 32Hz. This part is of course completely subjective but I felt it cleaned the soundscape a lot.
    I like very analytical and bright soundscapes (eg. Beyerdynamics DT 1990 Pro with the "analytic" pads) and this definitely took a step towards that on the much cheaper HyperX Cloud 3.

    Hey brother, just want to say thanks so much for the videos. I've been looking for a headset in this range. Still deciding between the Cloud 3 and the Nova 7x.
    You have made SUCH in depth videos, and I think I speak for everyone here (and those that haven't found you yet)... when I say we appreciate it a lot!
    You deserve a much bigger audience... and you'll have them soon enough :)
    Thank you man, keep up the good work.

    Correction: Cloud 2 released in February 2015. Interesting review of the Cloud 3. Only concern is the yolk situation that more and more users have brought up over time with the wear and tear situation of previous headsets.

    I was using both cloud ii wired and wireless for years. Still works but cloud iii doesn't seem a big upgrade. So now I have the new audeze maxwell. The difference in overall comfort is massive. It's not that maxwell is uncomfortable, it's just that the cloud ii is too comfortable and there is a lot of difference in terms of weight, earpad size, headband style, and a bit in clamp force. Ive only used maxwell less than a week so im giving it more time but if i never get used to it, i might consider going back to cloud ii, at least for gaming long hours

    In my journey to settle on a pair of favorite headset, I am realizing that a lot of the headsets are simply subjective selection, and found myself to watch all available reviews, where one reviewer reviews my tope 2 or 3 headsets - and then finding mutliple reviewers to get to the point what is the best for me and what I am looking for.
    In this specific case I have used Logitech G935 for the last few years, but the design defect Logi is not addressing kept me getting replacement - and I am quite ready to move away from that model. I liked the sound, surround options as well, adjustments, but time has come: I have tried Razer Nari 7.1, Artics 7P, and Hyper Cloud Cloud III - HyperX were probably the best out of three overall for me, however still fell quite short when comparing sound of G935 and how the sound was on HyperX set.
    I am now making final selection between these three headsets:
    - Logitech Pro X 2
    - Drop + EPOS PC38X
    - Audeze Maxwell
    and I should know which of these three will stay, and what other two will be going back...

I hate 6k, and it looks like it has no air or sparkle so I hope this 6k spike is specific to your measuring rig. I’ll start by saying that I own a lot of “gaming” headsets (Sony InZone H9, new Astro A30s, TB Stealth Pro, Razer Blackshark V2 Pro (2023 edition), SteelSeries Arctis Nova Pro Wireless, Pulse 3D and the TB Stealth 700 Gen 2 Max which all of these headsets are amazing in their own way and I love gaming on them but I wanted something specifically for Modern Warfare 2 and to take my competitive edge to the next level so I started my research into open-back headphones and it’s opened up an entirely new world. I know there’s a lot of heavy hitters in this market and I know all the “big” names such as the HD560s, 6XX, the DT990 pros or even end-game like the HD 800s and you can definitely get one of those but since I’m a console gamer (play on Ps5) and don’t want to have to get a separate mic or what not I decided to look at the open-back headphones with a microphone and decided to pick up the PC38x and holy smokes this thing makes me excited to play COD lol. It blows all the “gaming” headphones out of the water with the soundstage and imaging and the fact I don’t have to turn down the headset since the highs aren’t ear-piercing. If you’re looking for a reasonably priced headset that puts “gaming” headsets to shame then I highly recommend the PC38x. If you have a setup with a separate mic and want even better (and more expensive) then I’d go with one of the other options I listed above in the open-back category but if you’re a console gamer like me with a simple setup and no separate mic then the PC38x with the flip-to-mute mic is absolutely mind boggling. I’d love to try out the VZR Model Ones but they aren’t available here in Canada yet but I’d definitely purchase day-one once they are since they too come with a microphone. My current gaming setup is a 55” LG C1 OLED, PC38x and then whatever pro controller I’m using (having 2 Scufs, Hex, DualSense edge etc etc

    I've got the Cloud alpha's, an older model with way thinner pads that weren't comfortable, but with wickedcushions pads, they're nice enough to not really notice. However, doing a small sine test, at around 4kHz, there's a sharp dip, but in regular content, not noticeable. Only complaint is maybe the cable, but I don't use them too much compared to my HD560s'. Anyways, on another note, there's been a history with hyperx cables failing a lot and sometimes not getting audio in the left unless turned in a specific way, and other dumb stuff. Overall, I'd say go with trusted audiophile brands for your audio, and not gaming companies

  • @kvernesdotten
    @kvernesdotten Рік тому

    I mean HyperX got the right idea with working off of an existing music headphone that was good. Building a "gaming" headphone from the ground up is just reinventing the wheel imo. Both the HyperX and the Epos are pretty universally loved and super popular, both of them started life as an actual heaphone by an actual manufacturer who have been doing this for a long time. My personal favorite is the AKG K712Pro that is pretty flat-ish and is like semi-consumer, semi-studio headphone. Absolutely nothing can hide, it just gives you whatever is there, always. I mean its not in the same price range and its open back but point is that a good headphone is a good headphone. I dont much believe in purpose built headphones for gaming ^^
    That being said I do use a HyperX Cloud II Wireless for pure convenience when playing certain games and hanging out in discord though, being able to go get a drink or do something without leaving the conversation is really nice!

    Question. First of all, huge fan of the channel. Keep it up. Secondly you, have you tried gaming using the AirPods Max wired with a lightning to 3.5 mm jack on PlayStation and Xbox? I swear it’s a cheat code in call of duty, however, I only have the turtle Beach elite 800s to compare it to. They are definitely superior to those headphones. I don’t have anywhere near the experience in the headphone game as you do, so I don’t know if I’m listening to a true cheat code or It’s good for me because that’s all that I know based upon my experiences. If possible, you being the headphone king in the game right now, on UA-cam, could you give your thoughts on this?

      Thanks so much for the kind words! I haven't used them before tbh. I haven't found a need or justification on purchasing them, but I can see why you'd like them for gaming. They are tuned well and likely have excellent driver matching considering Apple's manufacturing power.
      I'd say that if that's good, roll with it! Some others to consider for FPS games at the higher end are the TB Stealth Pro and VZR Model One.

    Since HYPERX was sold by Kingston to HP, can you do a review comparing the Cloud IIs during the "Kingston Era" and the Cloud IIs during the current "HP Era"? Many people are saying that the Kingston ones are better, many people say that they're the same in quality, it's just an endless circle.

    • @bruizer3183
      @bruizer3183 Рік тому

      My experience was the HP are indeed lower quality. They felt cheaper, sounded hollower, and the mic sounded more "tinny". I ended up buying some old new stock Kingston ones off of eBay and they were as great as always.

    Great video! I'm looking for comfort, gaming, movie, microphone, and music purposes (Like general). i have Realtek ALC897 and i need usb cause of that. The options is Corsair hs80 usb 70dolar, Logitech G Pro X usb 80dolar, Steelseries arctis Nova 3 usb 65 dolar and Cloud 3 for 100 dolar. My questions is in video you mentioned hs80 have best mic but not as good as sound quality in comparison with cloud 3. There is a 30 dolar difference between them and withoud dolby, do you think i should pay that extra 30 dolar to get that better sound quality with HyperX Cloud III? Like this is my first headset and i wanna know if i buy HS80 USB will i regret cause of the bad sound quality that hs80 have? People say hs80 audio not good but i dont understand how bad it is? Since im living in asia i cant return the product :/

    Used the cloud II for 5 years, bought the cloud III and this is so bad the audio is mid it's flat no bass at all very flat audio zero signature, the sound is too low on PS5, good on PC, the comfort is 20/10 very comfortable, the microphone is amazing, the wire feeling is horrible whenever it touch or rubs something you can hear a very very disturbing sound in the headset.
    Conclusion very comfortable headset with a very very good microphone but the audio is veeery basic and without character

      I've been really enjoying the TYGR, even to this day. I reviewed them in the past. I'll have a follow up video coming out on them soon, as Wicked Cushions dropped some new pads. I wanted to measure it again with the pads, and also discuss where they stand in today's market. In short, they're excellent for mixed content, and FPS.
