Thank you for having us! I enjoyed the video!
Thanks so much for dropping by the Cabin and educating us.
I will check out your instagram page. Great information!
Thanks for some great info!!
Thank You So Much Sarah 💜
Thanks for having her! I contacted her about my 40 yr old cabbage patch doll and she got back to me really quick.
I remember standing inline with my mom mom buy these dolls. When she died, she had 35 dolls. I got a bunch and also the larger fabric doll and the bride and groom. I enjoy all the information.
My little sister was born in 1983, and my aunt bought her 3 Cabbage Patch Kids. They were never taken out of the box, and my mom GAVE THEM AWAY (she didn't like her sister-in-law 😆). I wish I still had them!
I truly enjoy watching the videos on the Commonwealth Flipper channel. The Top 10 format videos are a standout for me and I have to say, Kevin does a fantastic job providing historical context and his wife adds a touch of comedy that really brings the videos to life. Sarah's expertise on the topic is truly remarkable and I appreciate the insights and knowledge she brings to the table. Thank you Kevin, Sarah and Kevin's wife for sharing your expertise, insights, and humor with us. The combination of all three of you make the videos incredibly informative, engaging and enjoyable.
Awe thank you!
Thank you
Kinda embarrassed to admit it but the Darktoylord had a Cabbage Patch Kid when he was little. His name was Miles. I called him Milo. Don't know what happened to him. He was just gone one day. I hope he found his path and is living the best Cabbage Patch life a Cabbage Patch Kid can live :D
Great video!! Thanks again Kevin.
Thank you for coming
Very interesting, always wanted to know more about them. Loving these videos.
Glad you like them!
My name for all of the toy crazes before online shopping is the "Toys R Us Fighting Moms Madness". I experienced it while trying to collect the original Mighty Morphin Power Rangers action figures.
Thank you so much for this video. I love these and have my original from a kid … I’m 50 now. I will be watching out for these now :-)
Absolutely loved this video! Thank you so much Sarah! And the history lesson in the middle was TERRIFIC!!
Kevin, I loved the history lesson. You forgot Turbo-Man. ;)
You really know your stuff! Thanks for sending me the plans for the shipping table.
thnks4 the info
Love her , am I the only one who thinks one of the dolls looks possibly like her as a baby
😂❤
GREAT VIDEO, Thanks for sharing. I will be on the hunt!
I love these informative videos! Helps me keep an eye out and know what to look for! Thanks!!
Glad you like them!
I know all about what to look for on a cabbage patch doll.
I sold one of the first potato head sets!!! About a year ago and I tried it out on a potato before I shipped it out…I have a video about it lol
I have the snack eating orange hair cabbage patch but Ebay took my listing down.
This is awesome! Taking notes! Thank you!
Thank you
I used to scoff at Cabbage Patch until this episode! Wow and thanks.
Excellent video
Wonderful video! I learned alot today. Lol I've saved this to my Playlist for future reference. Talking about Advertising on the back of comic books, I always wanted the Sea Monkeys 🐒 🙈 😆 🤣 😂 I never got them though. 😢
I wanted the sea monkeys too! Weren’t they just little brine shrimp in reality 😅???
Fab video thank you
JUST PICKED UP 5 DOLLS FOR 5$5 SO I HAVE TO REWATCH YOUR VIDEO TO REEDUCATE MYSELF!!
Im am at a loss. I am trying to find the value of a cabbage patch doll and cant find it anywhere. Hoping for help. The doll is December 30, 1997 Holiday Baby named Lorinda Madge in box. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time.
i love your concept and execution but get rid of the wavy camera work please. if you suffer from motion sickness its a bit much.
❤❤❤❤❤
Want about the koosas?
Koosas are probably worth $15-20 out of the box. I sell them on occasion ❤
That fake has no piggies!
The very first Original Cabbage Patch kids did not have head molds, originally they were all soft sculpted. I visited BabyLand General Hospital (not the new place) 1979-1980 many times as a child and adopted many (8) dolls. Witnessed their "births" as well. Booty and birth certificate both hand signed by Xavier Roberts (met him too on 4 occasions). These are the true Original dolls. When they hit the market, mass production, plastic molded heads, of course the public went crazy, but us little country Georgia girls, already had our babies!! Will treasure mine forever!
The first true original dolls were the ones that he bought from her then resold them and then continuously went back to her wanting more and more argued with her and found a way in a loophole somehow to steal the copyright from her. I believe originally it was little people. You might not be fully aware of the whole story I suggest being a fan of them going fahrbach educate yourself because Xavier Roberts doesn't deserve your accolades trust me
@@girleyreds11-11 Interesting... Who is her? Educate us please!
Yes i remember the signature so well
@@julievanerem9578 Martha Nelson Thomas.
@@phoenixreign7522 He definitely copied from her Doll Baby concept, but we are talking about the labelled Cabbage Patch dolls. Her work is hands down superior the eyes alone are brilliant.
I was absolutely fascinated by this video! So impressed with Sarah's knowledge (and to think she probably just scratched the surface of all she knows!)
the eyes on the fake were off as well.
i was a collector for many years, when i tried to sell them i couldnt even get $10 a doll. ended up donating 95% of the collection. kept a handful that were sentimental.
Thanks for this! I found 6 CPKs in my grandmother's attic recently. They're all still in the box. Guess I'll have to look into them now!
Wow, let us know what you find out, please!🤗
Great information video!
Once again Blue Ridge Mama stole the show. Hahaha 🤣 ha
When I was a kid we spent Christmas in Macon, GA and my parents took us to Babyland General Hospital. Cool memories.
I got mine Christmas of 84 after my grandfather had passed, the next year I got a Premie and a redhead but Irene has been in my bed since 1984, seen the introduction of my late shih tzu as a puppy then me bringing his ashes home after he'd been cremated, the introduction of my female maltese thirteen years ago and now probably because of how my female maltese is acting, is probably on HER way over the rainbow bridge but Irene is still in my bed at the head right beside my pillow. Nicolette is at my mom's place and Felicia is somewhere in my room.
I'll Never Look At CP The Same Again 😂😂 Thank You For This 💚💚💚
Just wanted to say thank you for sharing your expertise with us! I love this video format! It's just enough information to get a jump start on a new reselling niche. The enthusiasm that an expert has in their area of reselling is contagious.
I live in Cleveland,Georgia. I bought one of the original Little People from Xavier’s sister . Come visit Babyland General!
I live close to the Cabbage Patch General Hospital so I’ve had the pleasure to take my daughters there at their old facility and new facility. Looking forward to bringing my grandbabies for their first experience there. I highly suggest if your ever in the area to stop and see it. You won’t be disappointed!!
I’m impressed. She was actually accurate on many things. Some UA-cam videos are not. One thing to keep in mind is that prices constantly fluctuate.
Thanks Diana!
Thanks Kevin for having Sarah on your video. We can all go out and look for these dolls with confidence !! Also in a nice way tell BRM not to quit her day job!!😹
As a doll collector and reseller, I appreciate a respectful video that isn't calling doll collectors creepy. Thank you. It is an art!
Cabbage patch is something I never look at due to lack of knowledge. Great video! Thank you for having her.
Thank you!
❤I made 38 soft sculptured cabbage patch dolls, both female and male (with boy parts), with short or long hair, your color choose, eyes, freckles or not and skin color and dimples in the butt cheeks. The reason I stopped making them was because I could no longer find the material to took to make a completely handmade doll! I’ll admit not all were great looking, especially my first ones but my kids got them, lol. I also made the clothes to go with them. We’d raffle them off or I made order forms, each came with birth certificates, but let kids name them!
I remember the soft faced ones!
Thanks for the update on cabbage patch. Take Care. Out
I really LOVED this video! I am stoked to go on the hunt for some of those Top 10 items. Sarah is so cool! 😎
Blue Ridge Mama = comedy gold!! 😀
Thank you for the compliment! I loved the Sauerkraut joke!
Just tip 10 to 9 was way more then 1 tip, we learned head molds, how to spot fakes, and the desirable outfits, I knew about and was on the look out for the soft sculpture and little people tag and have found 1, at a goodwill of all places, but now I'm really educated, Thanks Sarah and Kevin!
Happy FriYayyyy Kevin & Sara 🥳🥳🥳 I Loved Cabbage Patch As A Child 💚
I visited baby land in GA as a kid. It was awesome. Lol
Thank you both for putting this together. I love learning about new things. -Samantha
Hi Kev, that is so interesting, my wife went straight to check her 1983, we now know this as its has a black signature Cabbage patch and its a number 2 made in Spain 🙂 I remember queuing up for it back in the day. She still has his birth certificate that cam in the box.
Brought fun memeries of my mom and I standing in line to grab each one to resale. And running to the next place to stand in line to grab more.We could not grab them fast enough to resale. And I remember getting excited when we was given by the store a special one
Kevin, Love The Toy History 💚💚💚 This Can Be A 2 Hour Video For Sure 🥳🥳🥳
My mother-in-law has one of the most valuable cabbage patch dolls out there. I should take a picture of it next time I go there. It's in her will.
Facinating! Oh boy i remember Christmas 1983 i guess when people were flying to other countries to get one of those! Luckily our son was only a year old and had other interests! My Mom would later bring him a fake from Asia which rather quickly we dumped bc it smelled like gasline!
Thank you so much for doing these top ten lists! Love them!
Also if you are going to buy just the regular cabbage patch dolls, make sure you look on the tag to see if the letters OK or KT are on it. Those are the best of all of them to get. The KT mold head #4 will have one arched eye brow. The OK kids are chubby looking and the KT kids are skinnier and more like premie’s.
Yes! ❤
Informational video. Sarah, you did great!
Thanks bill!
Who knew that cabbage patch kids would start the whole "Trans" movement back in the late 80s with the designer line.
I lived in Atlanta when they came out and we called them adoption dolls not little people ( soft face) and we used to go to Baby land General for field trips . The dolls were so expensive there but you could buy them at some of the small local stores near by for a little less. I had a New Eared baby lol meaning he had ears 👂
That's hilarious me and my wife laughed when you're wife told that joke about the cabbage patch kid lol thank you for the laugh 😃
Please don't stop doing these. Was so awesome to see the daily cabbage in person and I am loving these. I had to come back to comment cause I watched it yesterday
This was excellent! Thank you and your guest so very much. I will be watching this one again and again before yard sale season.
Love BRM 🤣🤣🤣💜💜💜
I call on this, my favorite, expert all the time :)
Thank you ❤
Sarah is amazing I love buying her cabbies and she did great in this video I learn more about cabbies. Good show ❤
Thanks Alyssa!
Great Video Kevin, It's like on Pawn Stars when Rick always has "a guy" for every Niche. This actually educated me on some of the cabbage patch kids I had in my death pile. Question: When you were starting UA-cam, What resellers would you say inspired/motivated you the most in the beginning.
Craigslist Hunter by far.
He still inspires me.
Very Informative. Thanks.😊
Helps a lot. Just picked up an estate that had over 200 dolls and at least 4 totes of clothes and shoes.
Wow, full of very useful information! I also liked your little walk down memory lane. Crazy how some toys get so popular.
Thanks for watching!
Wow. Such a great video. Thanks!
Very useful info ty I never grab then because I dont know. Ty j deff had some of the soft face years ago and I thought they were knock off but they were signed so I was thrown off. Wish I knew this stuff then lol
Amazing video and so awesome to see you and Sarah there!!!
Thanks Ed
I learned so much from this video, thank you! Now I have to find that doll I have in my death pile and see what I can figure out, haha!
Thank you for your videos. I enjoy your history lessons too. Good luck in your business. Take care and stay safe to you and your family. 😊
OMG! Hysterical joke!
I don't think I've ever commented on your videos but I had to say I really enjoyed this format. It would be nice if you did something like this at least twice a month or so. Thanks
Awesome, thank you!
i have 3 dolls new in box from the early 80s. 2 are premies and one is a ethnic doll in courderoy bibs. i got 30 or so. one is from the orginal babyland also. i got a astonaut one and all kinds of them.
Went to an Estate Sale today, picked up 5 cabbage patch dolls... all run of the mill dolls, I paid too much for in fake outfits :) Should have watched this first, I would have walked away. Very helpful, thanks!!
I’ve watched this like 3 times but found a head mold #17 today for 99 cents! Came back here to see what she said about it and I’m excited to hear her #8 BOLO!! 👏🏻
Thanks for this video. I am in the process of cleaning up my old Cabbage Patch kid dolls. Between me & my siblings, we have 18 dolls, seriously! My mom worked at a dept store in the 80’s, so she got first choice on them, when they came in & a discount, & I think she was a little obsessed with them, lol so, only a few were played with a lot. I’m going to donate a lot of them to the Goodwill. But, before I do, gonna check to see if they are worth anything. Even though, I have a large variety, don’t think I have any that you talked about in the video. But, some of them are more valuable to me because of the memories!
Yesterday I got two cabbage patch dolls just got to work out how much to price them , I am in Australia one is 1982 ( stain face ) going to try clean her and 2017
Love this video!!!!! Sarah taught us all soooo much in this video! 👍🏽💙
Thanks bud. Good luck on your way to 1000
Thanks kameron! ❤
Thanks for all the info in the video! Shout out Sarah! Passed them up in the past. Will be taking a closer look from now on!
Awesome! Thank you!
Great video! Creative and informative! Loved the history lesson ❤ From teacher to teacher… good job! Keep this kind of content coming!
Lmao 🤣🤣🤣 love the joke. Had to watch it again
You should see the technical points for various record labels We could go from 100 to 1 and not cover 1/10 of what you have to know.
Buying records since 1960 and called a collector since 1971 and I learned something all the time.
I have an original Little People doll I adopted in Gatlinburg, TN Took it back years later and got it signed by Xavier Roberts. Still have her adoption certificate and all.
I really enjoyed this video. I visited Babyland and got a cabbage patch baby there for my son a couple years ago. Fun place.
This is great information. I found a soft sculptures hand signed at the bins and it sold for $600 in 1 day
Your expert has a bow on a boy....Coleco used the auburn loops, like the one with the #2 mold, only on boys.
Great info! I had to go grab my CPK to check but nothing on the list. My mom was in the midst of that craziness in 1982 and told me the stories.
What a Interesting Video, Thank you Kevin and your Special Guest!
He should have let her list a few more, like the first edition 2001 TRU K-2 molds.
I enjoyed watching this since I had Cabbage Patch Kids when I was younger. I now want to go to my parents and try to find them.
Very informative video about cabbage dolls.
I had no idea they were worth THIS MUCH now. I thought the they peaked years ago and weren't nearly as valuable as this now. Thanks for the education. I went to a "pickers" estate sale a couple years back and there was a big two story storage building in the back packed full but there were lots of cabbage patch dolls, mostly in their box still. I bought a few but didn't get all of them. Nothing too crazy, but decent. Makes me wonder what I missed. To add to the "toy craze" examples from rent history I remember Hatchamals several years back selling for crazy money
