According to an interview i've read on a magazine, Warren Spector worked on this game. Since he couldn't think of anything to turn the show into a game, he went to a bar along with the dev team to see if they could work something out.
So yeah, the game's been made by a veteran game developer who was drunk off his ass on gin tonics.

Dcfan200, he's more well known for his work on Ultima, Wing Commander, System Shock, Deus Ex, and Thief. Epic Mickey ended him.

I am a musician and a composer, what I wonder is, how was the composer capable of producing this loop of music with such awful, detuned, totally unrelated notes? Did the programmer of this game let his 3 year old child hit some random keys on the computer or something? xD

+NightShader1 It is pretty easy. I'm not musician but I created similar cacophony as in CrazyBus in Reality Adlib Tracker by setting high-pitched sound in instrument and pressing random buttons on keyboard. Now I'm afraid myself this track lol.
+NightShader1 That one song at the end sounds absolutely terrible because the nerd was getting hit by bombs that fuck up your controls. The song is normally straightforward and consistent (though still not good), but for some reason, those bombs make the music go apeshit.

So apparently, there's a sound glitch in this game. Whenever bombs fall in this game, they put the sound channels out of whack. It basically makes an ear-piercing song ear-coveringinblood.

it depends on how many times you get hit by bombs....if you can pass the stage without getting hit the song sounds normal but everytime you get hit from bombs it makes the sound detuned

I don't know if its just me or AVGN's content has got much better and funnier. The past avgn episodes have lacked some of the original humour but the Christmas series that he has started to do has improved so much from the previous episodes. Well done James keep up the good work!
This is one of those rare games that is so full of glitches, you’re constantly afraid it’s just going to crash or brick your NES

There are discordant music tracks that someone suffering with intrusive thoughts can listen to that will help distract the mind so much that the effect of the intrusive thoughts is lessened or negated altogether.

What’s funny is that this game was developed by Radical Entertainment, which also made The Terminator on NES and Wayne’s World.
They also made Simpson’s hit and run.
Even worst, the ending is the main screen with a few changes. Dissapointing.
0:39 - I still think the music loop in Hong Kong '97 is even worst!
Did I hear a 4/4 to 7/8 time signature change at the end of the music loop? That's quite progressive for a game of this magnitude.
3:18-3:20 reminded me of The Angry Video Game Nerd's experience in 'Action 52' when playing 'Cheetahmen' when he said "What the fuck?!... I came out the top of the screen & came out the bottom of it & died???...".; Lol.
Actually the stairs bit can be somewhat reasoned. Bullwinkle had long legs whereas Rocky is pretty small so it'd make sense that he would have to jump to get up a step. Doesn't mean it's a good mechanic but it does work with the context.

Wasted Rain I know, so was that Incredible Hulk game. But my choice of excellent games from them dried up pretty fast, unless I thought the GameCube Crash Bandicoot games and "Monsters Inc. Scream Arena" are awesome. :P

+MoonBlueGamet Comix Zone fits into this as well, except it works differently: You're just fine hurting enemies, but if you hit anything else that's destructible (such as a crate), you lose about a pixel of your health with every blow. This basically rephrases the Nerd's quote into this: "You can't break something, without hurting yourself."
