7:17 That "princess" is actually Pitfall Harry's niece named Rhonda. The animal in the cage you save is Harry's pet mountain lion Quickclaw. Both of them previously appeared in Pitfall 2 for Atari 2600 and before that, they appeared as main characters in the Pitfall! cartoon for Saturday Supercade.

It was games like these that made me feel like a complete idiot when I was a kid. I thought it was just my fault that I couldn't figure this shit out. Thank you AVGN for making me feel better about the whole thing. It's just taken me years to realize I wasnt the only one.

The common theme with these games seems to be "people won't notice our game is terrible if we make it too difficult or obscure to let people actually continue the game."
Like when they don't have time to finish the ending before the Christmas release date, so they just make it impossible to finish. Lol I think LGR did a video on that.

A non-sucky version of this game already exists: Super Pitfall, from what I understand, was a loose remake of Pitfall 2 for the 2600. Speaking of which, that's a game I need to add to my collection.

The Sick Human Being What if this game is just a dream? What if Harry and his wife Mary went cave spelunking and Mary slipped and fell down a hole. Harry tried to save her but never found her after that happened. So now he has horrible nightmares about the incident, dreaming of going down the cave and rescuing his long lost wife. That would explain why she looks dead in this instance. I don't know, just an idea.

Actuall, some of the most poisonous animals are frogs. They are not green, though.
2:55 - Yep, I can think of a poisonous frog right off the bat that's killed hundreds of people and are still used by tribes to hunt game, even today.
The Poison Dart frog is known to have some of the most potent toxins, just a drop of it's poison can kill like 6 men.
There's also a TONNE of poisonous spiders that can easily kill a human. It depends on where Super Pitfall is set, if its in the amazon then there's a massive amount of spiders that are a threat.
Love the episode and channel, just thought I'd point this out.
Also the most poisonous venom in the world is the Brazilian wandering spiders. Most painful poison at most.

The ultima games were fun on c64. I remember that part where you had to randomly float around on a hot air balloon to land on this one tiny part of the map.

I don't know why, but I have always loved this game. It's creepy, cryptic, challenging, and amusing. It's like an anxious nightmare in 8-bit reality. And finding those hidden items by jumping was strangely satisfying to me. Makes me wanna break out my old NES and play it again.
The opening charades scene made me laugh so hard, I almost started choking on my sandwich. It was hilarious!
