If this was a real alibi why did it take so long for him to say this? If he was innocent wouldn’t this be the first thing he would tell a policeman so he doesn’t go to jail? I sure would be screaming my alibi from the beginning knowing I’m innocent.

That's not how justice works. You don't get to go "Well if you were innocent why didn't you say so in a certain time?"
That's why there is a fifth amendment and it's been repeatedly ruled that just because you don't defend yourself doesnt mean you're somehow automatically guilty.
Further, the alibi part is a formal part of the trial system there, it's not something you just say "because".

I live in Moscow and frequently travel between Moscow and Pullman. I have never had issues with cell coverage (even on the backroads). I think jurors in our area will be pretty skeptical of this argument which may be one reason they want a change of venue. I suspect this argument will be more convincing to a jury not from this county.

I think the most telling thing in that new alibi is.... they never said "Brian Kohberger was at that park"....they said his PHONE was. It doesn't matter WHAT he was doing or whether ppl think it was normal or not. That's all a distraction to get ppl away from the fact that they can only "prove "(and NOT EVEN with their own expert-they need the states evidence), they can only "prove" his PHONE was there...not that HE was there. That's super scketchy& ANOTHER "coincidence "? Let's not all forget the crime was seemingly (obviously to many) well planned out. Planning includes covering tracks& having a plan if caught. And let's not forget, BK also specialized in cloud based forensics.

He was able to kill 4 people in less than 15 minutes, and clean all tracts that might point the crime to him and conveniently dropped a K-Bar knife sheath with a small amount of Touch DNA on it? Stabbing a person is a lot more tiring than you ever think, and stabbing 4 people? Not to mention the victims have defensive wounds. The most damning “coincidence” is how in the world the roommate took 8 frking hours to call the police?

    • @Flonick21
      @Flonick21 Місяць тому +3

@ethan, I appreciate your point of view, but I would ask you this re time: how long do you think it would take someone to strike you w/that weapon if you were passed out sleeping, in your own bed at 4am? And if that 1st strike were in your back/lung area, do you think you could yell out? Maybe google some knife attack videos, pretty disturbing, but the reality is they're extremely quick especially if a person knows to hit main artery, lung area, which a premeditated murder by a suspect who studied serial killers would know exactly where to strike for immediate incapacitation. It's not like he walked into a room at 6 PM and they were all sitting around the table playing cards. They were sleeping in their own beds in the middle of the nite and were ambushed. X&K may have been awake, but X coulda been coming out of bathroom, wearing Airpods listening to tik tok& been ambushed from behind, thus def wounds, as in grabbing at the weapon as it was cutting her but was overpowered quickly. Or walked into her room as BK was behind her door knowing she was coming & ambushed her from behind. Defensive wounds means putting up your arms or legs, blocking, or trying to grab, it doesn't mean hitting, clawing scratching punching, those would be OFFENSIVE. Too long to explain KG possible scenarios , but point being, it only takes seconds to incapacitate a person w/that weapon in the dark being ambushed. As for 8hr delay, it sounds like from all legal reports there were no screams, no knocked over furniture, no commotion anymore than a normal night of ppl being up late partying in the house, which was normal, annoying but normal for them. So DM could very well have thought just that& even tho startled by BK walking by, she most likely thought her friends were being loud& partying & had a friend over that she didn't know, & went back to sleep. If she was asking Bethany what to do, Bethany probably told her, it's quiet now, just let it be we'll deal with it tomorrow. (DM was a freshman/new to the house). The other thing that backs up why she didn't call police(credit to Reporter room) is that he was so quick& stealth that X&E didn't call police either. No one did, bc nobody had time to react b4 being incapacitated due to placement of weapon, so it never sounded like anyone was being hurt at all. Hopefully this at least gives you food for thought.

@@Flonick21 thank you ! That’s exactly what makes the most sense . Sleeping , drunk , tipsy , distracted , self involved , just college kids in somewhat of a protected bubble where crime is low and never ever in a billion years thinking an attack like this could happen to them or anyone they know. It’s absolutely pre meditated . We know someone “ unique " did this , because he was smart in many ways , but also not of sound mind exactly . It had to be someone knowledgable in certain ways on how to leave little clues committing a crime . Someone smart enough to avoid detection for over a month , but not smart enough in the end to cover all his tracks , especially once the FBI got involved . Who was that person ? BK fits the bill.

The initial deadline for Kohberger to provide his alibi passed like a year ago. He provided it sometime after the deadline, saying that he was in the habit of driving around late at night. Now he's provided a slightly more fleshed out version. If he was innocently driving around, why not say so in the 1st place? Why not shout from the rooftops, my car might have been caught on camera, and I was out driving, but I didn't do this crime? The reason the alibi took so long to come out is that he was waiting to see how much they had on him. He knows they have evidence of his car and his phone in the vicinity of the crime, so he's fashioned an alibi around it. If exculpatory evidence could be presented by the defense, the assumptions would be different. But the prosecution's evidence so far has been strong. The defense, not so much.

I didn't catch that it was vacated. That's interesting. But an innocent man would have explained where he was as soon as he was arrested, not offered an alibi after missing a deadline. And why were the added details in his latest alibi so long in coming? If he was driving by a lake, why not say it a year ago? These are my questions.

Early on, Thompson replied that to his knowledge there was one outstanding lab report that he was waiting on in response to Taylor’s request for additional discovery. Then he said he can’t compel the FBI to produce discovery because they are a sovereign entity. Taylor kept using inflammatory language in her motions knowing the public would find out unless they were sealed. All this talk about “we know exculpatory evidence exists” and tainting a potential jury was the talk then. If her client had a verifiable alibi, why has he been sitting in jail all this time? Then Taylor accused the judge of misconduct and he clearly wasn’t happy. Along comes her “expert” putting knowingly false questions in his survey, admits to doing so and is angry about being called out on it? He was haughty, dismissive and arrogant as he testified he wouldn’t continue with his work but buckled under scrutiny by the judge. I was someone who grew up in rural Ohio- no Internet, no cellphone until i was 18 years old in 2012 and i LOVED driving around at night on country roads, sometimes to go watch thunder storms or heat lightning roll into the fields.
I would go to the cemetary and have picnics and read at my grandmothers grave and no one knew where i was or what i was doing.
I think that this is plausible. It makes me disheartened to see so many people having bias (especially when its influenced by the media). I would hope that if someone they knew were in a situation like this, others wouldn't pass judgement so quickly. Or at least, as you said, make sure to check their thinking along the way.

The way that statement reads, it didn't sound like he was saying he was in that park on that night, I read it as "I liked walking in the park, but when that wasn't possible, I went for a drive in the area instead." and the case he is making is that he was driving though that area on the night in question, so I don't think the park being closed has relevance here.
Speaking as someone who has, on several occasions driven home from the city (alone and in the evening) to my house in the suburbs (about 38km direct) via scenic routes that took me more than 200km out of my way through regional areas with patchy phone coverage for the sake of enjoying the drive, I find it bothers me somewhat that people find the concept that he might just have been out driving for the sake of enjoying the drive to be so inconceivable.
As for it being "convenient" that he was out there alone... I imagine he's finding it distinctly *inconvenient* that he has no-one who can testify as to his alibi and is left to try and prove it through data only the state currently has access to.
I'm not saying he *must* be innocent here, but his story is far from being unbelievable, and the actual evidence against him as presented so far is kind of thin. Unless and until the state proves it's case he deserves the benefit of the doubt.

Im guessing when you go on “scenic drives” through a residential neighborhood in the middle of the night you don’t disconnect your cell phone from the cell network (and do it just the one night there happens to be a quadruple murder in the neighborhood you like to scenically drive through.. yet don’t do it the other times you “scenically” drive to the area late at night)..
And then im gonna hazard a guess if you did have such incredibly bad luck to make it appear like you were trying to hide your physical location the night there just so happened to be a quadruple homicide in this seemingly random residential area you go out of your way to go to during late night hours, that you probably wouldn’t have then had even worse luck to have a car that matches your make & color caught on surveillance footage circling the street & house where the quadruple homicide occurs, passing by the scene of the crime multiple times before that car that matches your cars make & color appears to park on that street & then is seen on surveillance footage again fleeing from the neighborhood at a high rate of speed right after the time the murders are believed to of happened..
but lets say even if you do have that very very bad luck im gonna guess your DNA isn’t gonna be found on a knife sheath inside the house where the quadruple murders takes place lying next to the body of one of the victims. 🤷🏼‍♂️

@@mattcastg5170 Here's the thing... regardless of the odds, It could conceivably happen, and that's a scary prospect.
Funny thing about mobile phones, is that when you are in areas with poor coverage, they'll connect and disconnect from the network all on their own... Sometimes that even happens in areas with *good* coverage.
My car is not an uncommon model. I routinely see other cars of the same make, model, and colour on the road.
I don't actually plan my scenic trips, it's always an impulsive thing and when I do this I usually make routing decisions on the fly. If such a situation were developing on a night when I was out driving I would have no way of anticipating it or avoiding it.
I also suffer from dry skin and dandruff. I probably leave a trail of dead skin cells pretty much everywhere I go. It's entirely conceivable that If I sit down at a restaurant somewhere for dinner, the next person to sit in the same seat after I leave could unknowingly end up with some of my DNA on their skin, or clothing, or accessories.
I should certainly hope that I never end up in such a situation as you describe, but I also wouldn't want to be presumed guilty if I ended up falsely accused of a crime I did not commit because I happened to eat at the same restaurant as a killer and then be driving through the same general area where they committed the crime.

@@deepratt1942 lol, sooo, they identified someone through cell data, and that random person happens to match DNA on a knife sheath left the stabbing scene you are investigating... and you are suggesting that an expert is going to be able to make that mean something else, something other than what is obvious to any half intelligent person??
Maybe, they aren't offering the cell data as crucial evidence, and dispelling means nothing, cz thy used it to find him, and that is already done. So they are arguing that the police should not have used this technique, cz it can lead to errors, but that's irrelevant, cz how the police find the suspect is irrelevant to the determining the guilt of the person they find. And, in this case, it led to the right person anyway, so what is he gong to say??

You went to law school. You know how stressful it is to pursue a degree of that sort, it’s even MORE stressful to pursue a PhD. You have no time for all this crap. You know this. The only time BK would have to be free from that stress would be at night late. To acquire a PhD you have to do so much research you don’t have time to even have friendships. You know this. He would have had to be a damn genius to get a degree and then do all this as well. Because whoever did do this had it well planned out. Not one person has addressed the time it take and all the stress to go through a MA or PhD program. I have a MS and it was the most stressful time of my life as far as education goes. There’s barely time to eat. Somebody needs to address this!

You people have every damn excuse in the book, for that creep. By any chance, did you ever read BK's 100 comments he made when he was 16 and 17 years old, on a social platform called Tapatalk? Well, there we see BK admitting to how f**ked up in his head he was. He needed some years of serious help, which I'm sure he never received.
Do you know BK only lasted 1 semester, before getting fired from his TA job, which meant he would lose his funding. They fired him for arguing with the professor, on several occasions. They warned him, worked with him, there were several complaints from females about him. So they told him to resign, therefore his career isn't ruined. When we saw BK's dad with him in the car. BK was moving back home to PA. He wasn't coming back to WSU. BK had a furnished apartment. That's why the police found nothing of his there when they raided it. The firestick, the vacuum, etc belonged to the apt.
For what we know of BK, the dude got fired a lot. BK knew before he left that his time at WSU was over.. And since he never received any help, never had a girlfriend or friends. The dude snapped. The university denied him, the police denied hiring him. The ladies denied him all his life.. So BK committed this horrible atrocity, to prove he could commit such a horrible crime and get away with it. He needed to prove to himself that he was better and they were all wrong..
