    It's really interesting hearing someone else talking about tiredness and ADHD. I could just about put up with the symptoms of inattentive ADHD in terms of the things I couldn't do as well as others, but have always struggled with tiredness and insomnia. I'd have stuff like at 10.30 AM having to lie on the sofa and then lie there exhausted but not relaxed, trying to do relaxing exercises. Also having to lie down in the afternoon and again just be on my bed feeling wired. Sleep never came easily either, in spite of all the sleep hygiene things I tried. Anyway, hoping the meds will give me some help here.

    When you described your pre-med days it really took me back. I’m testing out ritalin rn and it’s changed my life so much already! All these study techniques finally work, lol.
    It is not without its challenges but I am so glad I finally got diagnosed at 27. Better late than never, right?

    Hey! Started ADHD medication on Monday! Already felling some changes! I was going through the same stuff that you did : being stuff in bed, post-lunch crash, difficulty focussing on one task at a time. I had to pass a test yesterday, and I was so surprised at how much a could focus on one thing for an entire day! Have a good one!

      I was diagnosed years ago but always coped without meds but felt like I was depressed but not really, just not happy like I once was. Things were stressing me out and I just couldn’t sit down and focus on studying and finally asked to try meds. Took 6 months but tried it a week and a half ago and it was 🤯! Wish I tried sooner

    • @hckynrscnd8916

      PS. I have consistent energy throughout the day too and feel more alert to my surroundings. Im able to focus for hours and work comes more easily to me, less stressed out however I have no appetite. I can go 12 hours without eating and not get cranky or lightheaded so I have to set times and remember to just eat, even if I’m not hungry. I’ve also stopped drinking which I did most evenings. I just have no desire too and feel more satisfied/content with my day, it’s hard to explain. It’s also great I don’t want to drink as alcohol and Vyvanse don’t mix well and both strain the heart. The side effects can be fatal. But anyways, it’s been great taking the pills aside from no appetite and no sleep for the first 4 days.

Hoping ADHD meds help me.

    Been watching your videos for a while now. Keep doing what your doing, it's good to know that we're not alone 😂.
    Just nearing the end of the titration period at the moment. Was diagnosed at 29. Having a child last year was light bulb moment and realisation that something wasn't right and hasn't been for... My whole life.
    I'm on 40mg elvanse and have just been prescribed a 5mg top up as I find the morning tablet "runs out" mid afternoon. Interesting to see how the medication timing effects other people.
    I would be interested to hear your thoughts in the future on addiction with ADHD, I feel my life been on big dopamine hunt wherever it was playing the fool for a reaction ,self destructive decisions or even things like internet / social media addiction. I'm sure it will take a fair bit of brain rewiring to get back to "normal" (what ever that is)👍

    • @Allegro_Giusto
      @Allegro_Giusto 2 роки тому

      @@07FreshMaker The crash has gone - The first week or two I felt the crash after around 5 hours of taking it. I spoke to my psychiatrist who said it’s perfectly fine to take 2 to try and push and time the crash for the evening. After a couple weeks or so your body adjusts and doesn’t crash as much in some peoples cases, becaause Vyvanse is the more subtle feeling of a boost and crash due to how it breaks down in your body (you shouldn’t necessarily feel any boost or crash at all that you do in the first couple weeks unless your dosage is too high) I’m on Vyvanse which is supposed to be long lasting 🤷I wasn’t comfortable with it being in my system all day everyday so I went back to having one a day. I eat a good breakfast high in protein (always seems to work with the med better). No coffee or sugary drinks when taking it too - sometimes I can, other times I’ll feel more jittery. I couldn’t have coffee at the start at all because my heart would race too much and be anxious as hell! So I have it when it’s wearing off at a reduced amount and see how it went from there. I make sure I eat during the day as normal and keep hydrated. Don’t drink anything acidic or high in vitimin C like fruit juices and apples etc before or soon after taking the med as it acts like a blocker (I’ll have anything with vitamin C in if I want the meds to wear off quickly and flush it out. Usually does in an hour or two I believe).

    I'm on week 2 of my medication 50 mg of elvanse. I was a problem drinker. I drank literally every day. Is it normal not to have the urge to do that anymore? Please can someone answer me because that's where I am at the moment. 3 out of 4 days I would come home from work and grab a can out of the fridge and probably 3 more when I'm not working maybe 8 more. I would have a desperate need for it sometimes, but that feeling has gone. Has anybody else experienced this? I don't seem to be able to find any information on the internet about it. Is this anyone else's experience??? Feedback would be awesome👍🙏

      I experienced the same thing! My temptations are completely gone. I did read that people with ADHD are prone to addictive behavior but when medicated those behaviors go away. It’s SO interesting!!!

    Hi Ollie, was wondering whether you experience a 'crash' in the evenings when the Elvanse starts leaving your system? If so, are there any things you do to manage it? Would be interesting to get your thoughts on this. Loving your content, cheers.

      Hey man 👋 thanks for reaching out! I don’t really get a major crash anymore - when I compare the comedown from 50mg or 60mg of Elvanse, it’s nothing! If you are struggling with crashing, try exercising in the evenings (if you aren’t already) - try and time it so when the meds are losing there effect, the body’s endorphins from exercise are kicking in (easier said than done!)

      I got a pretty annoying crash that caused a headache that persisted until i slept at 30mg.
      When i increased to 40mg the headache dissappeared but the energy draining crash was still there. I figured out that the crash was caused by me not eating and drinking enough. I started to eat fruits/energy bars 1-2 hours before lunch and 1-2 hours after lunch. Also when I get home before eating dinner. Now I have this amazing stable energy throughout the entire day.

    What’s exercise like for you Ollie? I’ve found myself avoiding it during titration as my heart rate is a bit wild. Hoping that will stabilise and I can get running again.

      I have heard of several people having that same experience! I never had the racing heart - but I do feel as though, when I’m working near my maximum heart rate, my body tires faster compared to pre-medication

    • @craigmitchinson
      @craigmitchinson 3 роки тому

      @@ollieedward643 mine isn’t so much racing heart to be honest. It’s an increase in resting heart rate from 50 pre-medication to about 63 now, and more irregular and noticeably strong beating.
      Have you looked at combination therapy? I’m tempted to ask my psychiatrist about it as it can mean that the stimulant dosage can be reduced when combined with something like Strattera or Tenex.

      @@craigmitchinson I have to say I do notice the stronger beating - sometimes it feels like I can hear it more than I can feel it!
      I actually haven’t looked into that no.. I’ll do a bit of research on it now.
