Love looking at older fanzines and magazines like this. I got into RPGs well after the internet age, some time around 2013. I basically exclusively play 1st edition these days, but I feel like the culture back then had a certain something about it that isn't easy to find nowadays. And the way to consume information about the game/scene seemed a lot more holistic with zines.
Glad you're enjoying the videos. I definitely agree there is a different feel to the older versions of the game and I think these fanzines have a lot of that vibe. One of the reasons I enjoy making these videos so much.
I'm working on house rules for traps for my solo RPG and enjoyed the trap section. Interesting twist to have the Olympus copy sent to Wyrm Claw considering the review they did on them.
Glad you got some inspiration from that article. These fanzines are fantastic ways to stimulate creative ideas for your own game. I've noticed that back in the day a few of the fanzines editors were pretty rough on each other.

My man!
Time to figure out what comes next ... so many choices....
Damage Vs hit points has always been a typical concern among rpg players and masters. A dilemma never solved
Yes, there's no perfect explanation for HP in a game... best I've come up with is you have your rule and you just agree to play with it.
Plate mail parkour.😮
Is the micheal stackpole the battletech author?
I believe that's right. He also worked on some of Flying Buffalo's Citybook products and several other RPG, video game and fiction products.
