32 bolts, should withstand a storm I would think, but that is a big sail so need to be ready. Anyway, I looked at the gazebo's on costco's site and they had some more expensive models for a lot more. Was the snow rating on your's rated as I didn't look into the specs on all the models. Also, how long do you think the fabric roof will last before needing replacement?
I didn't look at the snow rating. I guess we will deal with that when the time comes. I was more conscious of the winds. The roof is aluminum panels. My neighbor has a fabric roof on their gazebo. They replace it every 5 years or so.
Could you bolt the posts down first after everything is square and then install the rest? I'm building a 10 x 12 and plan on marking the mounting area with tape or paint for mine its a 5.5 in mounting base 10.87 length (outside post) and 8.7 width (outside post) with 12 .25 diagonals
@@GregRocheleau Thanks I'm awaiting the packages if I can support the beams with clamps and ladders I think your way is better as I could be off a little and could move the beams accordingly
You use an impact driver instead of an impact drill !! This is completely wrong, since impact drivers impact in the rotation sense (to loosen bolts and nuts) versus the an impact drill that impacts in the drill bit axis direction...precisely to drill..
Locked down tight!
Hi Greg, my city hall wanted me to have a permit, because I live up in the hill. They scared me, because they said the roof could sails away.
@@tomcao4382 Wind is something to keep in mind. I anchored mine to concrete footings. Get more details on how to comply with your local codes.
@@GregRocheleau I have a huge patio slab, do you think the wind could lift the roof off?
@@tomcao4382 I think most people anchor to a concrete slab.

Is there any fear of those bolts getting water under them in the winter and pushed up breaking the pad?
No, I have a similar pavilion now that is bolted down the same way. It has had no issues for many years.

I'm sure that would work as well
