Most of the information mentioned in the video is incorrect: - Only 40% of the pillars work is done and in some places it hasn’t even started. - The journalist missed mentioning the names of multiple stations, some really important ones. - The fare by cab aggregators is no where near INR 600, at peak hours it can go upto INR 2000 just to the city center. However, credit to BMRCL, the entire blue line work is going at a above average pace.
I assume they meant it would cost atleast 600(if you live closer to the airport), but I don't think I have ever gotten an airport cab that costs less than 1k.

Vayu vajra fares are affordable to anyone who can afford a plane ticket and the service is convenient. I don't think BMTC is making a profit from this service yet. Also, we cannot expect a economically viable world class airport to be built within city limits, that too in a metro like Blore
It's the same with every city. All the new airports are being built outside the city premises. I don't buy the argument that it's too far from the city. Maybe 10 kms towards the city would have been desirable but it's fine. All Bangalore needs is metro and/or trains to the Airport. It will save time and money. Bus is also good but the problem is traffic.
Agree completely. Also, the airport cannot be closer due to several high rise projects along the way. Unfortunately, the hebbal-yelahanka line also has an elevated flyover which makes this redundant. It would have been good (and faster) if the metro could have been routed near Reva university/Hegde nagara from Nagawara. But as usual, a huge population will not have easy access to the metro. :(
Give the metro contruction contract to a private credible company like LnT, they have done a great job in Delhi. Namma metro construction is notorious for being too slow. World class companies like LnT will do a much better and quicker job of rapid and quality metro construction.

Electronic City Phase 2 extension has "Heelalige Railway station" being re-developed as Big station so Suburban trains can help people working in electronic city area can have easy commute from marathalli, tin factory, hebbala areas
It seems the Indian railway will finish its construction by 2024. Already they have electrified all its network. doubling also completed at some stretches. Baiyapanahalli to Helalige {electronic city phase 2 extension} is already functional with suburbans. Once double line work completes this will reduce travel time to marathalli from electronic city by 1-2 hours. It hardly takes 20 min by train for now on single line route.

I know it’s unfortunate that 100s of cab drivers will be out of jobs, but the metro will reduce the traffic on the roads. There will be less pollution, less heat on the roads.
