Even if Metro takes a few minutes more, it is preferred. This is because in Metro one can travel passively (i.e. you don't have to stay mentally active and can relax), while riding a bike or driving a car one has to travel actively (i.e. you have keep your brains on which is tiring by itself).

If you have Metro within 1-2 km from you home or work location, use it. Simply, it is the best and safest means of transportation. Remember, more traffic on the road means, chances of accidents are high and you are also exposed to more pollution and stress. Someone rightly mentioned about getting some exercise while using Metro (walking from/to the Metro station etc) which is a good point because most of young IT folks don't get any physical exercise otherwise.

*"Rush Hour Rumble: When the Namma Metro Outshines Peak Hour Traffic"*
Amidst the hustle and bustle of the city's peak hour fray,
Two commuters embarked on a journey today.
Rishika chose the Namma Metro with a smile,
While Udbhavi braved the traffic with style.
On Udbhavi's forehead, a perfect comparison was made,
As her charm, smile, and bindi began to fade.
With each passing minute, her makeup disappeared,
No smile or bindi left, just a look of sheer fear
Oh, peak hour traffic, how cruel you can be,
Taking our commuters' radiance with such glee.

Well done also to all the important persons not seen!! The video persons and those recording the audio especially of the lady on the scooter. And especially well done to the storyboard editors and the timeline splicing techs. It's a small video but lot of small details that needs a lot of effort to splice correctly.

Even after six months KR Puram to Byappanhalli is not complete. BMRCL comes up with excuses that no one can think of. There were bureaucrats like Sivasailam who blocked Suburban Rail for decades. BMRCL is still thinking about when to inaugurate the missing link even after the CMRS approvals.

Here in Delhi I reach to my office in 35 minutes via delhi metro. Which is around 23 kilometers away from my home & U have to spend 25 minute for just 13 kilometers & UR frequency is 15 minutes for another metro OMG😮. Here I have to wait 2 minutes for another metro. Bengaluru metro have to do a lot in it's metro system.

Actually the problem behind this huge headway is that the BMRC made a faux pas in choosing the vendor for the rolling stock. BMRC chose CRRC Nanjing Puzhen (China) pre-COVID, with the condition of maximum domestic manufacturing. It tried hard to set up a plant in India, first in Nagpur (in partnership with MahaMetro), and then in Sri City by itself; it failed on both occasions, due in no small part to Galwan. Now, CRRC, in order to meet the domestic manufacturing clause, has tied up with Titagarh Wagons Ltd to manufacture the 216 coaches it had agreed to supply to BMRC, in a new brownfield facility in Titagarh's existing plant in Uttarpara, West Bengal. It may take some more time (around 6 more months) for the first coach to roll off the assembly lines and be delivered to BMRC. Meanwhile, BMRC will also need to make a lot of changes to the Baiyappanahalli depot on the Purple Line before it connects the Whitefield-KRP line to the rest of the Purple Line. Most importantly, the reason behind the high headway, is that land acquisition delays have forced the 1.5-km missing link between KRP and Baiyappanahalli to be delayed (much like the case of Trilokpuri on the Pink Line in Delhi Metro).

@@lokeshwaranvr Yes, but once this line is linked to the rest of the Purple Line, the frequency will slightly worsen. CRRC-Titagarh need to supply rolling stock at the earliest to maintain a good frequency.

if the public transport keeps improving like this and the people actually learn to stop thinking individualistically, then we can reduce traffic by a lot (read faster bus travel times) and have way less pollution and temperature hikes.

The girl who drove is defending the travel via road so much and changing her opinion like anything. Just accept it it's a headache to drive here and no comparison b/w travel via metro and road. Metro wins hands down.

It's a metro project. 6-mths from the last KRP-WFD inauguration (in Mar 2023) is what was predicted by Blore Metro Skyscrapercity forumers (notwithstanding what BMRCL and media say). That's very reasonable , and we're on track for that, viz. Sep 2023

    1. Home to ITPL metro station (10 mins)
    2. ITPL metro to KR Pura metro (15 mins)
    3. KR Pura to BYPL by feeder bus (10 mins)
    4. BYPL to Cubbon Park by metro (15 mins)
    5. Cubbon Park to Miller's Road (10 mins)
Additional 20 minutes waiting for trains and walking at BYPL.
Took a cab in return journey. 55 mins end-to end.

Metro for Bengaluru people is still a luxury travel.... Unless your start - end points are within 2 kms from the respective metro station, it's going to be expensive and time consuming.... Let's not even get into "walk to the station" debate as our roads are simply not meant for pedestrians. Roads even more dangerous for pedestrians than riding a bike...
