I got 3x KS5 😅few days later they announced KS5L.. honestly, I felt sad at the beginning could save money with Iceriver BUT.. I went and jumped into Bitmain quality 👍
The bitmain ks5's will outlive and hold up better. If you're spending that amount , mite as well go for the better bet. While yes the icerivers are more tempting because of the price , quality is lackluster in comparison, and therefore , alot more risk. Never a bad choice to go with the absolute best, that will also last the longest when efficiency will matter down the road. Congrats brotha!
Looking at the price point, I would agree with you on holding out. We haven't seen much price drop on the other ks3 variants despite stagnant price action on KAS. We all know if KAS pumps, this hardware price will rise overnight. Name of the game though. Big Boy KS5s on Bitmain, Iceriver or Goldshell need to drop a bit but grabbing a couple KS5s, bitmain or iceriver, then selling the KS3s could keep your hashpower competitive. Business perspective would be the reason to upgrade for competition and participation on this in my opinion. Kaspa game is crazy for sure and we will see what the bull run does to it. Certainly looking forward to the new algo asics like ALPH. I got a gut feeling I hope is wrong but, with an alph asic and the cap on hashrate considerations, I am feeling that kadena vibe. Nobody knows and the run up is right around the corner. Good content as usual.
100% agree. It's also hard to go in when the likelihood/ possibility of extreme price cuts are there , and likely to eventually happen if kaspa price action stays stagnant and iceriver decides to heavily undercut bitmain again like they did with the ks3 when it dropped from 40k to 22k basically overnite. Those poor souls got rekt , and unfortunately may happen again if things line up again here with the ks5 buyers. Asic game is ruthless at times.
I got a KS3M in the November batch. I had a bad Hashboard in January. It was down for three weeks while I was waiting for repairs. Other than that I am happy with it. I still have one bad chip, but the new firmware keeps it running.
@@miningstacker Once I found out where to contact them it wasn't too bad. I did have to pay for shipping to them. Insured it was about $500 with DHL. Their turnaround was about five days. I expected to have to pay for the repair because I had changed the thermal paste. They repaired it at no cost, other than shipping to them.
I have to wonder if a KS5M is in the works. Hard to pull the trigger when you look at IRs historical product releases. I think we all got spoiled with a 4 month ROI on the KS3M. A 1 year ROI is usually pretty good.
I mean in reality even a 1-1.5 year ROI is good for a normal miner. This isn't a normal miner though, that emissions reduction was put in place to emit all the coins as fast as possible so that it severely limits the amount the Asics can yield. Very possible that in a year , it will be mining a tiny fraction of yield vs what it is now, and that's by design. That's why there's such a race to get as many as possible and try and breakeven as quickly as possible , which is very different from all other coins.
Last shipping window I've seen was may 5th , so should start shipping this coming week, get a hold of your reseller as they should have more info. Have had a few people mention they potentially had problems with their chips they received and that's why there's so many variants , so may want to confirm that as well as there is a 10,11, and 12 t/h model.
@@miningstacker I’ve learned so much from you the last 6 months. You’re like the mining whisperer. Calms me down and makes me look at stuff a different way.
@@soxfan_9631 makes me happy to hear that brotha, that's the main purpose . @miningstacker ok, cool, if I order asic from another country directly from the manufacturer will I get charged the percentage? I am in the US but I just gpu mine over here I like to asic mine in my country because of electricity
@@miguelmigueldejesus3763 so the tariffs are going to be based on the country it's going into , not where it's ordered from. Most of us order from the stores who will input a value where you don't get hit with those tariffs, but every country is different so need to see what it is there. And yeah , lots of people doing that , Bitcoin mining is growing big in South America , lots of big farms in Paraguay for example. But yeah, email the stores if you have questions , chances are they have shipped to that country and they will know what's up.
Yeah , if your goal is to get it hosted , not a good idea, because of all the foreman issues , definitely more a home miner thing, but no issues here , not yet at least.

I bought 3 Ks5 20th models.
BALLIN. 😂. But seriously, Congrats brotha , it will likely remain the king for quite a while! Crazy piece of hardware!
I am all in on an ALPH Asic when they come out. Until then, I am stacking with my KS3M, 2 KS0 Pros, and OG KS0.
💯

Holding out for the smaller new units, KS0, KS1 or KS2 upgrades.
Yes, that's what could be enticing, seems very likely that they will refresh that line up

Ah ok, how was the rma process ? Did they give a hassle ? You paid for shipping ? Able to send in just the board , or did entire unit have to be sent?

What happened to the KS5L?? It was supposed to ship by the 30th of April! Did they abscond with our money?!

#kaspa lets gooo 🚀🚀🚀🚀 10$👑
My ks3m break even is also yield based. Sold 61k kas to buy the miner. Once I get that I’m positive for the miner. Need about 6k Kas to be even.
We are twinning , 😂. Pretty much right there with ya brotha! We are just about there!
