They’re not calling 20 year olds old, they’re calling HER, specifically, old. I kinda get it. She does look much older than the rest of the group and whatever those ridiculous outfits they’ve been waiting on stage are, just don’t suit her at all and makes her look even older by comparison. All people are really criticizing is that she doesn’t fit the image they’re going for with ILLIT and it’s true. She looks far older than the rest of them, which in turn actually makes her look MUCH older than what she actually is.
I find it crazy that people are saying Yunah looks too old and sticks out. The group does have a lot of young and baby faced members so she’ll obviously look older than them, she also has a sharper skinnier face shape while the other members’ are rounder. But I don’t think how she looks is stopping her from fitting the concept as other fans say she does or make her look too old or ugly.
I can confirmed people will said 1 month old of human or unborn child are considered as "OLD" in future

Yeah like she does stick out to me but I think that's because the rest of the members look very young and seem a little shorter. They're all very pretty tho! But I do however agree that maybe another aesthetic could fit her better like more street style or girl crush but she still looks great with this cute aesthetic ❤️

Yunah is so versatile though, yes she slays 'cooler' concepts but she also did so well with brighter songs on the show like Attention & Aim High. Also, her personality irl is so bubbly and cheerful, she's literally known as the "mood maker" of the group and makes the members laugh constantly (total ENFP) - tbh ILLIT's music encompasses her true vibrant energy more than a dark/girl crush song would. She's not some haughty mysterious girl who needs to be pigeon holed into one certain type of concept, plus in the future ILLIT will certainly try different genres and aesthetics so no need for people to be so rude and OTT.

Tbh baby monster reminds me so much of 2NE1, I think ruka can really embody second gen energy, (for example, her rap in the evaluations) and I’m hoping that YG doesn’t waste her talent by giving her less rap lines

Batter Up & Stuck in the middle was pre debut because Ahyeon wasn't in it.

sheesh definitely reminded me of how you like that. the girls are incredibly talented but they deserve their own unique concepts and styles that aren't similar to anyone.
i don't think BM style is similar tho? Sheesh doesnt sounds like HYLT, they only use the same chorus sample that's it. Other than that, they sounds pretty unique for YG group. BABYMONSTER concept is Dark or "Monster" concept compare to their sister's group 2NE1 and BP who are girlcrush concept. The piano intro, the dark synth on pre chorus, the Rora bridge with Rami low note and the whispering break down at the end? That's totally dark concept. Additionaly the MV is full of monsters, monster horn, monster hand, eyes with dark cult theme background. I know so well abt dark concept BCS I'm a big fan of it. I'm literally fan of Dreamcatcher, Pink Fantasy and VIXX. So I can assure that THIS IS UNIQUE (compared to other YG group at least).

Calling Yunah old is wild. Yes, I did notice her as the one with the most adult features but she doesn’t stick out and I also didn’t think „Ah, so that’s the oldest one.“ Like, if somebody told me, say, Moka was the oldest I wouldn’t have been surprised either because some people are just tiny, skinny and have a baby face and still be 25.

Yunah definitely looks her age, but she is surrounded by baby faces and the styling is just not good for her. Bangs and a light ash brown hair color would soften her sharp features. That being said I do agree that this just isn't the concept for her, she shined during bad girl good girl and just screams girl crush but now she has to do cute whimsical concept.

I think the question is does she fit the concept that they have chosen for the group to debut? Probably not. I can see what people are saying about her against the rest of the members right now though. We all agree that different girls suit different concepts better, right? The point here is not her age, no one is against 20 year olds debuting. No one is saying that she is 'too old'. People are saying that she LOOKs old compared to the others and doesn't match the teenie concept.
I actually do think that she does seem an odd choice to include in ILLIT, especially considering the other girls they passed on. If she had debuted in BabyMonster no one would have talked about her age at all, so it really isn't an age thing, it's an issue of visual coherence.
I think that she might shine later on as their concept matures though and they are not dressed in young teenie styles, so there is that.
For this concept jeemin would have been good but probably wasted talent because she has too good of vocals for this concept imo. There was another girl on r u next her name started with an H and she had bangs that would have done real well with this concept. Yunah has such a sassy attitude in r u next performances (bad boy red velvet) it’s a shame it’s just not shining through with this concept.

i heard yunah trained for nearly 6 years so thats why in a recent video with eunchae from lesserafim they seemed very comfortable with eachother, many people were talking about how they were close during training. i feel very bad for yunah i guess people think its normal for 2 month y.o to debut now 🤷♀️🤷♀️

Is it weird that I like 'Like That' & 'Monters' (intro) more then 'Sheesh'? Sheesh's intro (Rora & Chiquita), Rami's vocals, Asa's rap and the Tell a friend part are my favourite parts of the song! The MV visuals with the lyrics are a great combo!! I am looking forward to seeing the whole dance!

I think we can say that "Batter Up" was the debut of OT6 BABYMONSTER while the EP was the debut of OT7 BABYMONSTER.
I think they really just wanted to include Ahyeon.. they were waiting for her which is really sweet. You can tell the girls are so close.

I understand people thinking Yunah does not fit the concept/group because I also thought she did not fit the image of the group. When I watched their debut showcase I noticed how much taller she was compared to the rest of the group who are pretty much the same height also her face is definitely more mature than the rest of the group who have similar softer features with big eyes. She stands out from the rest visually however this is just the debut so I hope to see them better incorporate her into the concept in future comebacks. It makes me wonder if Youngseo debuted would the group's look be more evened out with her in it. Just a side point I do not think her standing out visually matters much it is still easy to watch her perform with the group however it is something very noticeable especially when you first see ILLIT.

Sheesh has a few similar moments to other BP songs. But in all honesty, the song as a whole does not resemble another BP (or 2ne1) song. To me it honestly kinda resembles like a Purple Kiss song. And I am personally entirely okay with that.
I think for Yunah, "mature" is the right word not "old". She has sharp features, but still she looks young. Kinda feels cringey when she does aegyo tho when performing. I think cooler concept would fit her better

Yunah doesn't look old she just doesn't fit this particular concept! I personally think she fits more the girl crush or/ and sexy concepts better due to her features.
The thing is the beat that incorporated at the last part of Sheesh doesnt even connect to the initial beats. Like they slapped you with a dark theme from the raps and redundant sheesh chorus. What's the connection? The message was all about "we are babymonster, you better not ignore us" then came the last part like Adam's family.😂😂😂
In regards to people saying soandso looks too young or old, or ugly, or blaming them for stupid shit, I think...regardless of where people are in the world, they will look back on how they acted on the internet when they are older, thinking "wow what the fuck was I saying?" or "yeah....I was an asshole, I was VERY annoying at that age."
The thing is, For YGENT groups there is nobody with a distinct different flavour because the "YG style" is monotonous for every single group. They all have similar sounds and feelings and that is a crutch in YG more than they would like to admit the YG style is just dark and "cool" and that's how it will be for all the groups and that's why whenever a group comes out they will just be a 2.0 or 3.0 of their predecessors. Not the best formula for a company because whats the point if debuting new groups if they're just going to be the same as the ones before them but just... younger lol

I have checked with Soobunnie. He does the Most views in the First 24 hours for a kpop debut song. He commented that Sheesh OT7 is the Comeback. Batter Up OT6 is the Baby Monster debut song. I completely agree. Only Ahyeon debuted in Sheesh so it can't be considered a debut song. The other 6 girls debuted on Batter Up.

I suppose Kpop fans shouldn't be expected to understand argumentation fallacies but it's still frustrating. Every time people use fallacious argumentation, it not only shows their weakness it actually proves the accuser's point.
i like SHEESH, and i liked "MONSTERS" the intro especially. in terms of repeating allegations it is a little funny to imagine YG didn't debut a new group this whole time because they don't have other music to give them. But on a serious note i think they're different enough and, avoiding the elephant in the room that is blackpink, people are telling YG to make something new as if they don't want to hear this music style again... but the numbers don't lie and listeners are enjoying it sooooo...

yunah is tall and mature looking, she looks her age, but i guess she sticks out amongst the cutesy babyfaced look of the other members. people wouldnt say she looks old if she was in a group with a girl crush concept. although she is doing a good job, i do think her talent would be more appreciated in a group that fits her image better. when they formed the group i was really curious how they would find a balance with a concept that would fit both yunah and wonhee. seems they didnt try to find a balance.
Yunah does look older than her group but it wouldn't be a problem if her same age members looked their age as well. Everyone but Yunah looks like a 14 year old whoch makes her stand out more. If she was in G-Idle no one would care but she sticks out like a sore thumb in ILL IT
